Chapter 1

CHAPTER ONE:

"what the hell is wrong with you? Have I not told you not to barge into my office without my permission?" Allen screamed at me. I was so terrified that the mug filled with coffee dropped immediately.

"I...I...I..." I stammered with saying a word.

"I what?" He demanded.

"I am so sorry sir, it won't happen again, I  just made your coffee and I wanted to bring it in on time to Maintain the temperature before it gets to you" I said with my looking terrified.

I bent down to gather the pieces of the mug left on the ground and got a mop to clean the spilt coffee.

Mr Allen is my boss and I have been working as his secretary for about a month, I'm still trying to get used to his routine, I had to change my bag into something larger so that every and anything my boss wants can be made available. He likes his coffee at 60 degree with 2 tea spoons of sugar, nothing more, nothing less

I've been on job hunt for so long and I must say that it was a miracle to land this one. No matter how overbearing he wants to be that's his problem, as long as I get paid.

I thought being a secretary was all glamour and classy but I guess that's for those that know what they are doing. I'm New to this Job and I wonder why I got the Job till today so I'm gonna put my all into it.

And this is not the first time I'm getting told off, it always happens whenever he is on a call, I don't know the details but I hear stuffs that are crazy.

What the hell has Claws and Luna and Beta got to do with work here? I don't know.

"What are you doing here? I thought you already made coffee." Clara asked.

Clara is my friend, we work in the same office, we both applied for a job here but she got it, I do not have an issue with that. It's good to have someone that works in other departments, it helps in making my work faster and easier.

"I got told off again and this time the coffee dropped." I explained while making another one.

"Oh dear, sorry." She said rubbing my back.

"It's okay, I'm getting used to it, the more I get use to it, the more it becomes a norm for me." I said still focusing on the right degree of water to be added to the coffee.

"Exactly, the more you get used to it, the more it becomes a norm and that's bad, he's going to continue treating you like this, I think you should stand up to him or something, this shit I getting out of hand."

She said with concern in her eyes.

"Stand up to him? Really? And become like the other secretary I heard about? Thanks for the advice but no thanks, you know I need this job badly because of the money, so as long as I'm not complaining, this discussion is not welcomed." I said carrying the tray with the coffee on it.

"You may not complain now but when you do, we'll definitely revisit this conversation, bye sweetie," Clara said

"Bye" I replied shaking the thoughts of complaining if my mind as I walked to is office.

I knocked three times and waited for a response.

"Come in" he said.

And I opened the door gently and shut it gently to avoid noise.

He doesn't like noise, well who does?

I headed for the side table in his office and put down the coffee. That's where he likes to take his coffee, not on the working table.

The office was a sight to behold, a true testament to the wealth and success of its owner. As soon as one walked through the grand entrance, the opulence of the space was palpable. The flooring was a gleaming marble, polished to such a high shine that it reflected the ambient light, giving the room an ethereal glow. The walls were adorned with exquisite art pieces, each a masterpiece in its own right, expertly arranged to showcase their beauty.

The furniture was a perfect blend of comfort and luxury, with plush leather chairs that hugged the contours of the body and an enormous desk made of the finest mahogany wood, polished to a deep, rich sheen. On the desk, there was a set of gleaming silver pens in a bespoke holder, a crystal decanter filled with amber-colored liquor, and a stack of gold-embossed leather-bound journals.

At one corner of the room, a floor-to-ceiling glass window provided a stunning view of the city skyline, and at the other, a large fireplace was roaring, casting a warm orange glow that illuminated the space. The lighting was carefully thought out, with recessed LED lights that subtly highlighted the artwork and gave the room a sense of depth.

Every detail was meticulously thought out, from the ornate crown molding to the delicate chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. It was an office that exuded success and power, a place where deals were made and fortunes were built.

"Wait," he called out as I was about to step out of the office.

"Is the car ready? we're leaving in the next fifteen minutes." He stated.

"Yes sir the car is ready, I'll get the documents ready and wait for you in the car." I said as I headed to his work table to get the car keys.

I left his office over to my desk, my desk was right in front of his office, so I won't take time before getting to him, I still had a telephone on my desk all still for effective response.

I packed all that would be needed and might be needed in case of an emergency.

We were done with the proposal and we got the deal, as a token of gratitude, Allen suggested we all got dinner at a restaurant

The clients left earlier, Allen continued drinking wine while I drank juice. Someone needs to be sober before we all crash.

Allen was really drunk and he kept on spewing nonsense.

"My darling Luna," He said looking into my eyes.
