Meeting with Miresis

The day slowly gave way to night, and from the darkness emerged creatures, each stranger than the last. Richard and his two companions followed the creature that had answered Beka's call with caution. It advanced deeper into the forest without being bothered by the presence of the three sorcerers behind it.

"We're wasting our time following this beast!" Beka complained, tired of walking like a child behind it.

"Don't wake the sleeping giant, then. We might not be disappointed," Richard retorted, his eyes widening as they stumbled upon a beautiful clearing in the forest. Derrick and Beka had the same expression on their faces as they took in the sight.

They had stumbled upon a large, grassy area devoid of trees. It was cool, and in the center was a river crowned with gradually changing cushions of air that illuminated the entire area. Just past the river was a waterfall, and the water flowed upwards to feed it.
