Chapter 7: Alexander

The days went by excruciatingly slow, with nothing memorable happening but eventually, Thursday turned into Friday and in the blink of an eye, it was already Monday again. The weekend consisted of nothing but working and relaxing.

Every now and then Anna and I would go out into the town square. Talk to some people who live in the castle and many other activities. Nothing out of the ordinary, not until Monday came again.

The day Alexander told me to met him and my nerves are running up and down the walls. What if Levi told Alexander about what I did? He could expel me, where would I go to school then?

The whole day my mind has been coming up with what-ifs and scenarios of what would happen. Not to mention, what am I going to tell my friends? My mind constantly being consumed by fake realities between me, Alexander, and my friends made the time fly by.

I could tell them the truth, explain to them that I'll be meeting someone on the field but then they'll bother me asking who I'm meeting. As a consequence, Anna won't calm down. Perhaps I could lie and say that I have plenty of work to do but that could work. I just really hope they don't think I am ignoring them.

Standing in front of the dining room, the buzz of children chatting overcomes my ears but not my mind. Scanning the space before my eyes land on my two friends, my eyes land on Anna waving her hand for me to see her, and Edith simply just acknowledges me with a nod.

Reluctantly trudging over to them after entering the extravagant dining room. Placing my hand down on the messy table, "My sincerest apologies, but I have a mountain of work to do, I'll be here tomorrow." I tell them with a slight smile, hoping they'll accept my apology.

Anna looks deflated, I can see it in her eyes but she covering it up with that happy smile. "You promise?" Anna asks I nod my head. "Alright." She adds and I smile at her. Edith doesn't say a word and simply just continues eating. I thanking Anna for understanding and then scurrying off to the field.

Reaching the field surprisingly quickly, I see the small children playing. I'm actually quite good with children.

Their enthusiasm for everything fascinating me but I do not think I could ever have my own. Some of the kids moving out of my way, some of them excited to see a different face, scurrying to say hello and ask who I am.

Amongst the sea of small bodies is one that stands out, a tall handsome man, seemingly disgusted by the small people. Getting a closer look, seeing the children tug his clothing. He scowls at the children and takes their small hands off his suit. Laughing at his annoyance, this caught his attention.

"What are you laughing at?" He grumbles this makes me laugh even more. "The principal of the best academy in the Northmere doesn't like kids," I say to him, trying my best to unlatch the small children from his lower legs.

"Not by choice. The day my brother became king I promised to help him with everything he might need. This just so happens to be one of them." He says sighing with relief that I got the small children off him as he dusts off his pants.

"Shall we go somewhere, quieter?" He asks, pointing out the way. I nod following him as we walk over to a grassy corner behind the sitting area.

He takes off his top hat, exposing his hair. He is actually very handsome, the striking resemblance between him and Levi except his hair is a bit longer, lighter brown, and less curly but still with a wave to them.

His hair covering his ears as the curls stand wild. I wonder how he manages his hair with such volume.

He licks his lips, almost expecting me to tell him something important. Of course, I knew what, my adventure to the king's wing, that thought doesn't seem to escape my mind. No matter how hard I try, it always slivers its way back into my mind. Making me lose focus at times as my mind rambles on about Levi.

My tongue moves on its own accord, telling him the thing he anxiously wanted to know. "I talked to him." Shocked at my own words my mouth. My eyes going wide as my hand flings up and covers my lips.

He nods, "Who?" he asks in a stern tone, but I know he knows. "...Levi," I tell him. He knew his own brothers' name, right? He looks like he knows a lot more about me and the kings... Friendship.

"You talked to him?" He asks, his face shocked, his eyebrows furrow. "I was told that you just entered the wing." He tells me in thought, "Who told you that?" I ask, would mister Anderson tell him? "We have a record of every time an infinity band goes off." I simply nod, Alexander seems to be in deep thought.

"Why did you want to talk to me?" I ask, my mouth shaking as I am scared of him. The authority he has may-be less than Levi's but the dark-haired man in front of me scares me more. My gut tells me that he is always planning, always thinking.

"Do not fret about it now, I can see you are adapting well." He says putting his top hat back on, readying t0 leave. My eyebrows furrow, "Am I in trouble?" I ask, worried that I might get expelled. He shakes his head, his curls bouncing slightly with it.

"I do not know, I will ask the king." He says, his teeth clenched slightly. This man seems shallow. Alexander walked me to my class, silent the whole time. His face showing his stern ever planning thoughts.

He curtly says goodbye, "He seems odd." A voice says scaring me out my thoughts. I turn around to see who it is, it's Edith. "You scared me." I chuckle airily and she scarcely gives me a blank look. I sigh and enter class, tired of her emotions or should I say lack thereof.

I only just got to chapter 7 though I am adoring the inclusiveness you have going on with a stuttering self conscious character and a non binary character. This story makes me happy.
