Kade

I came out of the shower wrapping a towel around my waist. With the water still dripping from my body I took a look at the naked body who slept peacefully in my bed. I brushed my wet hair with my fingers deciding to go and pour myself a drink.

On a different night I would have woken the She-wolf and had her ready for another go, but not tonight.

With everything that is going on, I just want to be alone with my thoughts. I heard my wolf whimpering so I gulped down the amber liquid that I just poured, rapidly, ready for another glass.

It’s hard to be the one that everyone is looking up to. Now I understand why my dad was so ruthless and enforced all those laws…Being the alpha everyone expects you to save them and provide for them.

I sighed, gulping down another glass before I threw it out towards the wall. The loud thud followed up by the scattered glass filled the air instantly, but I didn't clinch. I know I was born to lead my pack but sometimes is hard.

“Kade, what’s going on?” I heard a woman's voice followed by a pair of arms that wrapped around my body catching me off guard. As I turned I got to see the She-wolf I spent the night with and I facepalm myself internally for letting her stay.

“Who gave you the permission to call me Kade?” I growled, making her shiver.

“Alpha, I“ she mumbles, changing her tone immediately, which annoys me even more. Why do all these She-wolves believe that, if I bed them, I’ll make them my Luna?

“Get dressed and go away!” My voice sounded harsh and I hope I didn't have to repeat myself.

“But Alpha”, the She-wolf I don’t remember her name whines.

“Don’t make me repeat myself” I said, pausing after each word. My wolf is already on the edge so letting him out to handle her it’s not the best idea.

“Yes, Alpha,” she said, picking up her scattered clothes from the floor and dressed herself quickly.

I sighed in relief after she left the room. With the buzz I have now, I am not sure how long I would have been able to control my wolf. Maybe it would have been fun to let him show her what he wants from his Luna. I am sure she would have changed her mind. I  shook my head not knowing why I let her sleep in my bed, she wasn’t that good lay anyway.

On a normal night I don’t allow anyone to stay the night. I only take pleasure from their bodies but with all that is going on right now… I gulped down another glass as I tried to push away my negative thoughts.

I pour another drink walking towards the window. I can feel the forest calling me. After taking a look at my own window reflection, I see my wolf black eyes trying to take over.

As Alpha of the biggest, most powerful and richest pack in the country, “The Greystone Pack”, I am considered to be the most fierce alpha and nobody wants to have me as an enemy.

I opened the window while I gulped down the burning liquid. The cold air hit me instantly and the feeling that’s been bothering me for months, is back stirring in my stomach. I don’t know what but I can sense that something is going to happen.

For a second I was considering to mind-link Alex, who is my beta, to see if he wanted to go for a night run, but I quickly changed my mind remembering the reason for my sour mood. He found his mate two nights ago leaving me completely alone.

Until recently it was me, Alex and Julian the three musketeers. It was us against the world but now it’s just me against everyone.

My life started to change a year ago when the one who was supposed to be my delta, Julian, found his fated mate who turned out to be raised by humans. Something about the way my dad ruled the pack made Julian follow his mate and decide to leave the pack.

It didn’t seem to matter to Julian that I was about to take the lead from my father and become the Alpha; he was convinced that the old man would never give up his position.

Instead of bringing his mate to our pack he decided to follow his mate and leave the pack.

***FLASHBACK

“Julian, what are you doing?” I burst inside his room questioning. “Laura, just told me you guys are leaving… where are you guys going?”

“Kade, you know Alpha is not going to accept me as being your Delta or Laura as my mate ever” Julian said sadly.

“What are you talking about? Why would he not approve of you?” I asked him curiously.

“Kade, Alpha would never let you point me as your Delta, because my mate was raised along with humans” Julian sighed.

“Who cares about his wishes? I am going to be the next Alpha” I answered.

“Kade, are you serious?” Julian interrupted me. “You know the laws, not to mention your dad would go above and beyond to force you to send me away or worse to send my mate away. I am sorry, Brother” He finished giving me a hug.

“You will always be my brother. I promise you no matter what, here you will always have a home” I responded, patting his back.

***END OF FLASHBACK

Couple of months after Julian left, we got news that a new pack was formed and soon a war started. Every week groups of wolves started to attack our pack trying to gain control over our land.

Being the Alpha’s son and the commander in charge, the pack warriors followed me into this new battle, no questions asked. Everyone fought bravely and showed no mercy. The loss of lives were not that high as probably the other group expected, of course the ones that died were members of our big family.

Overall we managed to make some real damages and chase them away. I am not sure for how long though but if the rumors were right  and  Justin had been helping them, feeding them information about the pack, I am sure they will regroup and come back stronger than ever. Too bad, times have changed and I am now the Alpha they have to go against. I am going to show them that I am not my father.

After winning all these fights and seeing how much  the wolves praised my leader abilities my dad finally acknowledged that it was time to step down and let me be the new Alpha.

I have to admit I had been waiting for that day to come all my life but when it actually did…the duty towards the pack and everyone's expectations was too much, I felt overwhelmed.

I take a long look at the Moon wondering what’s the Moon Goddess plan. Maybe she just wants to punish me for my father's mistakes. That arrogant foolruined everyone's life choosing his title over my mom.  I sighed  nervously thinking about what could have been.

I put the empty bottle down before it splinters into shards in my hand because of my grip.

My wolf howled in my head one more time before I decided to let him take control. I throw away the towel and in a matter of minutes my bones snaps and rearranges, transforming my human body into the big black wolf that I am.

I jumped out of the window not feeling to use the main door having one destination in mind: the forest.

Happiness… When I was just a child I wondered many times what exactly happiness was. Everyone around me struggled to find it out despite their constant efforts. Not only did I question its existence, but I was sure it wasn’t something I was going to be blessed with. I blamed myself for ruining my parents’ chance of happiness. Because of me, they spent their lives separate seeking a reason to live. Only when Sabine appeared in my life, I begin to hope I would find happiness. A smile spread across my face as I looked at the beautiful woman lying next to me with her chestnut long spread across my pillow. Her chest rose and fell as I continued to enjoy the peaceful moment. Twelve years had passed since the Goddess brought Sabine into my life and not a day passed without me being grateful. Even when I was in the coma, I knew I had to find my way back to her, as she was the light of my darkness. “I love you,” my own goddess whispered while she turned over to face me. “I love y

SabineMy heart hammered in my chest as the fear took over. I couldn’t believe I was about to lose everything, my home, my mate, the father of my unborn child. I struggled with the decision of announcing everyone I was carrying the alpha’s unborn son, but somehow I wanted the people who had been my family for the past year to choose me as their Luna for my skills, not because they were taking pity on me... After a moment of reflection, I decided to let the people vote, speak their minds. If they wanted me as their Luna, they would say so through their votes. Deep inside, I understood why my father decided to follow the laws. A pack needed a strong Luna, one who could fight their battles and carry on with his legacy. The fear I was going to be cast aside took over me and for the first time I wondered what I was going to do alone, how I was supposed to make amends for me and for my child I was carrying. One thing was certain: I wasn’t letting Kade step down from his role. A ragged breat

Kade “Someone find Cameron,” I barked as Zeke, my new Beta, gave me a small nod before he stepped away to carry my orders. I liked that about him. He was a man of few words, but he was strong. When I chose him to become my second in command, there was no better person to fill the list of skills I had in mind. Zeke was a good man and got along with both my people and the gypsies. While I turned my head towards the fight, I was unable to focus. I could see the hate in Octavia’s eyes and despite my encouragement’s words, Sabine seemed to give up. I knew how much Seth and Cameron meant to her, but I could only hope none of Octavia’s affirmations were true. Anger boiled into my veins while I saw Octavia’s wolf jumping on my mate. Once again I brushed my hair with my fingers, cursing under my breath my inability to stop the fight. “I am not a werewolf. Your laws don’t apply to me,” Cordelia’s words surprised me as she stabbed Octavia’s wolf with the silver ceremonial dagger. “Any news

SabineAs the words left my lips, people who surrounded us began chanting my name. The obvious hate in their eyes towards Octavia fueled my rage, giving me strength. I had to win this fight for all of us. Octavia was the one responsible for the fire that destroyed many lives. A lot of good people had died because of her hate and yet if it wasn’t for her reckless actions, I would have never met my parents. My mother would have continued to be King’s Philip's prisoner while my father struggled in the mines.“Sabine, you can’t fight her. There has to be another way,” Sasha mumbled, interrupting the line of my thoughts. “We both know fighting her is the only way.” I choked out the words straightening my back. “I can’t allow Kade to step down and just give her our pack. It’s his birthright,” I added clenching my fists. “But you..”“If I can have your attention.” King Darius voiced out interrupting her. “As werewolves we live, develop and grow together as a community, a family. We have la

Sabine “There is nothing to be afraid of. You were born for this. It’s your destiny,” my mother whispered low as she gave a light squeeze to my hand. I gave her a small nod while I took a deep breath in my efforts to calm down my racing heart.I straightened my back, pushing my chin high as I turned my head towards my father, signaling to him I was ready for him to open the door. The omegas began to bow their heads in respect while I walked holding my mom’s hand slowly down the decorated path. Everything was perfect. Wooden pillars stood proudly on each side of the alley decorated with green garlands and fairy lights, offering the place a magical vibe. Time seemed to stop for a moment while my eyes found the black ones of the person the Goddess decided to pair me with. My heart skipped a beat as I saw him dressed in a tailored gray suit with a silver button-down shirt that matched my dress, standing on the small stage, waiting…waiting for me. “Friends and family, I would like to sa

I quietly looked at the young women in the mirror, barely able to recognize myself. A confident, strong woman who not long ago was just a naive gipsy girl who had her long chestnut hair braided into a ponytail was now staring back at me.While a happiness sparkle danced in my green eyes, a smile spread across my face, making Sasha growled in annoyance.“Stop moving or I will never be able to finish in time.”I gave her a small nod as I watched her finish her magic. Sasha applied a cherry lipstick to my lips to match the purple eye makeup she chose for tonight’s event.“Sabine, you look beautiful,” mom whispered as she fought back the tears that threatened to roll down her cheeks. “Alma, you are going to ruin your makeup,” Sasha blurted out, making mom shake her head in understanding.I looked at the woman who raised me like I was hers, giving me all the love and affection a mother would give to her child. She looked beautiful with her hair styled into a bun and dressed in a dark blue
