Chapter Eight: Avoiding Him

Amanda P.O.V.

  I awake, take a shower, brush my teeth, and start getting ready for school. I always show them pearly whites. Ella always tells me that. She's the queen Luna, Sage's mother. I don't know how a lovely lady like her could birth such a monster like him. He's such a creep, but it's different now. After yesterday, what on earth was he thinking of doing that? Was it a bet between him and his friends? Even my cousin does nothing to help, and he sits in the background watching what everyone does to me, never sticking up for me. My own blood lets this happen because he was told not to talk to me by that jerk, Sage. I hate him so much. He makes my life a living hell and all because he wants to.

  I can't even make friends because Sage says I am not like them. He already took the only 2 friends I had. I don't get why he is always on my case. I don't bother him or anyone else. I'm such a loser saying this out loud while I'm in my room alone. 

  I decide to shut it all out and find out what I'm going to wear. While looking in my closet, I notice the beautiful sundress my parents got me for my birthday. It would make them so happy if I wore it. I should wear it, especially as my parents' best friends are coming to dinner tonight, King Alpha Zade Stone and Luna Ella Stone. Lucky for me, Sage always misses them, so I won't have to deal with him. 

  I put the dress on and do my hair and make-up. I feel refreshed, ready for what the day might hold. Ever since last night, I keep getting a weird feeling like someone has been in my room, touching and smelling me. I swear I thought someone was licking me at some point. Weird huh. I must be imagining things.

  I head to the kitchen to get breakfast, and Mom has made my favorite crepes and eggs Benedict. I love them. 

  "Are you going this year?" My parents ask. I look at them, confused, then suddenly I remember the sweetie pie dance.

  "Yes, I am going. Why?" I ask warily. 

  "Well, Ella and I want to take you shopping and get your hair and make-up done as well." My mom says happily.

  "That would be great. I cannot wait for this Friday. I gotta head to school. See you later, and I love you guys." I say, excited.

  As I'm heading to my car, I have a strange feeling that someone is watching me again. I brush it off, starting my car to head to school. 

  I'm jamming to the songs playing in my car, but I am super nervous. I never wear dresses. What if they give me a hard time at school or make fun of me? What if Sage gives me a hard time like yesterday? He needs to mind his own damn business! I am so sick of his attitude towards me, and it's getting old. I don't speak or bother anyone.

  As usual, I get to school, and I have to park in the bank's parking lot. I have to walk 3 blocks yet again to get to school. It's a good thing my shoes are flats, and it's not windy out. Actually, it's quite hot right now. I'm sweating a bit, but I don't mind,d as it means I can smell my own perfume. I changed it this year, and it's raspberry and mint. It reminds me of Sage. 

  I finally get to school, and there are some classmates outside, enjoying the sun on this hot day at the end of August. As soon as I'm spotted, I catch a lot of male eyes staring. What the hell are they looking at? It's making me uncomfortable. I hope that Sage isn't outside. I don't see him or the others in his gang anywhere. Even though I think it's good at first, I quickly realize it's not good. They can sneak up on me more easily to catch me off guard.

  As I'm walking, my heart rate is speeding up, and it feels like it's about to explode. I felt more eyes watching me again, and then I heard the Fab4 say something. I just ignored them.

  I'm about to head back when I hear someone call me by my name, not humi. That's a first. I turn around to see a guy with a big smile on his face walking towards me.

  "Hello, Amanda." He says.

  "Hello…," I replied curiously.

  "You don't know who I am, do you?" He questions, smiling.

  "No, but please don't take any offense. I would like to know your name, please." I reply, feeling guilty.

  "Oh, that's ok. My name is Dimitri Gold, but please call me Duke." He says.

  "Oh, yeah, you are in my class. Hello. How are you?" I say, suddenly remembering him.

  "Fine, I've wanted to come to talk to you for a while, but that stupid rule that Alpha Sage created stopped me. I know you will be graduating this year, and I see you going to Yale University. I'm also going there. I was hoping we could be friends. I won't be offended if you don't want to." Duke blurts out quickly. But before I can reply, he quickly starts talking again.

  "Oh, don't worry about me hitting on you. I'm gay, but I gotta say, wow, baby girl! You are gorgeous! Don't ever let anyone tell you differently. Ok." Duke quickly blurts out again.

  "I tell you what, how about I see you at the dance on Friday night?" I say happily.

  "Yeah, ok. I don't care what everyone says, and I don't go by what others say; you're a very nice girl. You seem like someone who has a heart of gold. I have a feeling that we are going to be best friends. Well toodles. Baby girl." Duke says, waving goodbye.

  Suddenly, I hear a growl, and I'm being pulled up off my feet before I even get a chance to see who it was. Please don't be him, don't be, Sage. I don't know if I can handle him today. I am slung over someone's strong shoulder and walked into the school's back, where the football field is. I'm being taken into the boys' locker room. 

  I'm put down on the bench in the boys' locker room, and I smell that amazing scent I love so much. I realized who it was, and it was Sage.

  When I finally looked up, my suspicion was confirmed. His blueish gray eyes stared at me, filled with anger and lust.

  "What the fuck do you think you are wearing? Humi. What are you trying to do, get some guy's attention? Because I'm not happy about this! You're not supposed to be wearing stuff like that. Just face it, no one wants to see you like that. Stop this now or else." He rants all the time, getting closer to me. Getting in my face.

  "SO WHAT, SAGE. NO! STICK IT UP YOUR ASS. YOU ASSHOLE!" I shout, standing my ground. He doesn't say anything, and he looks deep in thought. Sage grabs me and blocks me in with his strong arms, growling at me. What the hell? 

  "Why are you doing this to me? I have done nothing to you!" I ask him.

  "You have no fucking clue what you do to me or what you're doing to me right now." He says, grabbing my hand and placing it on his crotch. I can feel the hardness he has there, and it just freaks me out. I try to push him away from me, but he doesn't budge at all.

  "You're not allowed to be looking like that." He says, breathing on me.

  I try to put some space between us, but I can't. He is too strong. It seems like he is spacing out, like he is fighting with himself about something or someone,e like his wolf. I know they have a wolf inside them. I heard Sage call him Lee. And in the 8th grade, Lee came out and said hello, but when it took me to say hi, Sage was back.

  I need to try harder to avoid him, but every time I do, it seems he knows where to look. He always finds me.

  "Please, leave me alone. Damn Sage! Leave me the hell alone. I haven't done anything wrong, and please don't assume that it's my fault if you're horny and hard. Get that in your thick skull, there, Wolfy." I shout.

  "It is you who needs to leave me alone. My thoughts are nothing but you, always about you. I think about you because I can't get free." He says, looking me in the eyes.

  "What are you saying?" I ask, confused.

  He leans in and starts kissing my neck, slowly moving his way up towards my jaw and then around the back of my ear.

  "Mandy, you think you can run and avoid me? Guess what, sweetheart, I will always find you and make your life a living hell. Got that?" He whispers

  He slightly pulls away from me, looking me dead in the eye. "I heard some guys want to ask you to the dance on Friday. You'd better not say yes to either of them, or I will punish you." He says threateningly. He slides his hand up my dress and touches my panties, rubbing me. 

  "If you do, this right here, where I am touching you,u will get punished. Got that? Good." He says, smirking.

  He moved his hand to my ass and smacked it, laughing. Leaving me there is a puddle in my panties, aroused and scared at the same time. I take a breather and see if the coast is clear to head out to my first class. Oh, God. So much for avoiding Sage.
