Chapter Eleven: The Ride

Amanda's P.O.V 

  Pour some sugar on me in the name of love. We are singing and bouncing around.

  "I know who you want to pour sugar on," Duke says, smirking.

  "Oh no, he couldn't handle my sugar. I am as sweet as they come." I say, laughing.

  "Baby girl, you're something else. I'm glad we finally talked and are now besties. I'm super excited we're going to the same college and leaving town together, but I'm gonna miss my mate, Derek. He doesn't know I'm his mate yet. He can smell my scent but hasn't realized it's me. I keep myself hidden and move when he's close by. It's hard to watch my mate kiss someone else." Duke said, looking sad.

  "It's ok, D. Maybe you'll find someone else, and it won't hurt as much," I say, trying to cheer him up.

  "It's not that simple. My mate is a girl magnet, just like the Fab Four. He can get any girl because of his amazing aura." Duke said, worried. I just listened as he admitted his mate isn't into men.

  "But why did your moon goddess give you a mate that isn't gay?" I ask, confused.

  "Baby girl, I dunno why, but there must be a reason. I'm not going to give up on him until he yells the worst words any wolf can ever hear…..I reject you as my mate." Duke said, looking down at his feet.

  "Man, that is harsh," I say to him.

  "Yeah, I know. Anyway, enough sadness. let us have some fun, but first, what did Sage's lips taste like on yours?" Duke asks, switching subjects fast. I can't stop blushing.

  "You keep that up, and everyone will know you did something naughty. HAHA," He says, looking at me and laughing. I turn even redder at that remark. 

  "Anyway, spill the beans," Duke says, looking for answers.

  "Oh, man, it was amazing, my first-ever kiss," I say, blushing even more as I remember the kiss. 

  "What are you telling me? You're as pure as gold?" Duke says, shocked.

  "Yes, I've been dreaming of Sage kissing me like he does his girlfriend for a long time. That slut gets everything she asks for, including friends. I'm just a loner, a nobody, but when he finally kissed me, I was crushed that he did it just to make a point and not because he actually liked me. He knows I have been in love with him since I was 12 years old." I say, getting upset. Duke is in shock, his mouth is open, and he's just looking at me because of what I just said.

  "Are you ok?" I ask, trying to snap him out of it.

  "Yep, just splendid. Why?" Duke says, still in a trance.

  "Well, you're staring at me like I am crazy," I said.

  "Oh no. I just got a mind-link from my friends, Guy, and the rest of the gang. They said that the loverboy himself is heading towards the mall to watch a movie as well, and he is lip-locked with Vanessa. Sorry, honey, it will get better, trust me. Sage has feelings for you, and he just doesn't know how to show them. Anyway, are you hungry? I'm starving. How about sushi? Do you like that?" Duke says. Shocking me and changing subjects at the same time.

  "Yes. I do. Let's go." I say, still in a daze from what Duke said.

  Dukes P.O.V.

  "Hey everyone, Mands and I are going to get some sushi. My baby girl needs cheering up. Can you all meet us there?" I mind-link Guy and the rest of my friends.

  "She is a beautiful creature, dude. Does she like me?" Guy mind-linked me back.

  "No, I don't think so. Her heart belongs to someone else. It doesn't hurt to try and get to know her, and maybe, just maybe, you'll have that chance you've been waiting for, for so long." I mind-link Guy.

  

  Sage P.O.V 

 "Fuck! Change of plans, babe. We're heading out to eat sushi, and then we can watch a movie. How does that sound?" I said, quickly changing plans. Duke mind-linked his friends, but I don't think he meant to also open the mind-link up to me.

  "Okay, baby, but could we go shopping after? I need a new dress for tomorrow night for the party after the dance. I have to look better than every other she-wolf there." Vanessa replied happily. I grab her hand and hurry her out of the school to my truck. I don't bother opening the door for her.

  "Hurry the fuck up!" I say to Vanessa impatiently.

  "What's the hurry? I am already here. There's nobody else you need to hurry for." Vanessa says like she is the only one that matters.

  "I am hungry, babe. Please get in the truck. I'm famished." I said, starting to get pissed off. We arrive at the sushi place and find a table. Thankfully, we are the first to arrive. 

  "Why are we at this one? It's not the one we usually go to." Vanessa says, whining.

  "Fuck me, why did I have her with me right now?" I say, inwardly.

  "Well, if you didn't grab and kiss her, just because you were jealous, our mate Amanda was getting attention from other guys. She wouldn't be here, and our mate would. So suck it up and live with it. I'm going to sit back, relax, and watch the show that is about to blow up in your face." My wolf Lee said, blaming me.

  "Yes, I screwed up big time, so what? I have everything under control." I reply to Lee, trying to convince him that I know what I'm doing. The bell rang when the door opened, and there she was. She is so beautiful. She is linking arms with Duke and Guy on either side of her. Suddenly, she spots me. She looks sad when she sees Vanessa next to me, stroking my leg and nibbling on my ear. I just smirk at her.

  "The shit is about to hit the fan." Lee mind-links me. 

  Amanda's P.O.V 

  "We should go. I'm not hungry anymore. The sight of them is making me sick." I say, repulsed by their behavior.

  "Well, this is the only place we can go. We can't get in the other place as we don't have connections like the Fab4 or her over there." Guy said, his nostrils flaring as he looked over at Sage and Vanessa. He is growling in a deep trance.

  "You, Sage. Get your fucking hands off my mate!" Guy yells while growling. I can't help but think, what the fuck just happened? 

  "Oh, this here? The one all over me, trying to pull me out of my pants, stroking my cock." Sage laughed. While I look away, blushing.

  "What on earth is going on today? It's getting weirder." Duke said, shocked. I'm so sad right now that I whimper when I hear what she is doing to him. Maybe I should just forget about him and find someone else at college. For now, I'm going to have fun with my friends Duke and Guy. They are amazing and treat me like a princess. The guy always liked me a lot more than a friend, but now he has found his mate.

  "I am sorry, I had no clue she was my mate. I kept smelling this scent, but I thought it was you. I still want to have dinner with you, watch a movie, and get to know you better, hopefully becoming your friend. What do you say? Please say yes." Guy said, slightly babbling as he was still in shock.

  "You can't. You're not allowed to have any friends," Vanessa says, growling at me.

  "I am your mate, you'd better respect me,e she-wolf, or I will give you 20 spankings and fuck you 6 ways from Sunday. Got that?" Guy yells, growling at her. I can see she is stumped, and she keeps looking back from Sage to Guy, then she glares at me, then back to Guy.

  "I already have a love of my life, and he is right here," Vanessa says, grabbing Sage's face and planting a big kiss on his lips. Guy is getting very angry, and he's huffing and puffing air through his nose. He's about to rush over there, but Duke and I hold him back, telling him she's not worth it. 

  "Neither of them is worth the pain. Let us just grab the sushi to go and find a park to eat it," I say, trying to calm the situation. They both agree. I feel someone's eyes on me, and when I look back, it's him, looking at me while making out with Vanessa. Guy is watching them too, and Vanessa is looking at him while kissing Sage.

  I'm daydreaming while waiting for our food. I head towards the ladies' room when I feel someone behind me. It's Sage fucking Stone. He grabs me and pushes me up against the wall. He grabs my legs, picking me up, and starts kissing me. He tries to move me to the side while tracing his fingertips over my lips. He kisses me harder than I ever expected. He moves my panties to one side, pushing his finger inside me, then another, and another. I can't lose my virginity here, no way. I try to pull back, but I can't move. I can't help but moan in his mouth while he is kissing me. I hear him unbuckling his belt, and I can feel his erection against my clit. I can't see it because his boxers are still up. I'm suddenly woken from my daydream as Duke and Guy are walking towards the door.

  Wow, what just happened? I need to use the toilet, but I'm scared of what will happen. Would he follow me? I look over one last time before I make my decision as to whether to go or not; he's staring at me, licking his lips, and biting his lower lip. What is she doing to him? I can see her hands moving up and down under the table. It's making Guy savage, and I feel sick. Guy stormed out of the restaurant.

  "So, do you need to use the restroom, or are we ok to leave and go find a park to eat?" Duke asked me. I look over at Sage, and he is looking right at me, biting his lower lip, and popping the tip of his tongue out. Does he know what I just dreamt of? He nods to indicate he knew what I was thinking and dreaming.

  "Nah, let's go," I say, loud enough for Sage to hear. As I'm walking out the door, I hear a growl and then Vanessa….

  "Why did you growl, baby? Did I hurt you?" Vanessa said, looking at Sage, worried.

  Duke is holding our food while we head to my car. Guy is already sitting in the back seat, trying to control his anger.

  "Guy, I am so sorry you had to see that. It's not right what she did. I know she just found out you're her mate, but that's no excuse." I said, trying to comfort him.

  "I wish it were you, Amanda, not her. I've had a crush on you for 2 years. I was hoping and praying to the moon goddess that you were the one, my mate. But no, it's her, the biggest slut in school. The one that all the wolves want, including my father. Apparently, she is good with her mouth and hands, which, as we just saw, she is. She is awful. I wish I could have a second choice, mate." Guy said, looking angry and sad at the same time. After our short drive, we park up and grab the blanket out of the trunk of the car.

  "Guys, there are cans of soda and water in my trunk as well if you want one," I said 

  "Man, baby girl. You're prepared, aren't you?" Duke said, surprised.

  "Every time I leave the house, I want to make sure that if anything happens, I'll be ready. I also have candy, gum, and clean clothes in there as well." I replied. 

  I can't help watching my friends and thinking about the day my mom gave me this dress, and she told me to have the best last year of high school because there was no going back to redo the things I missed out on. I never realized that wearing this dress would lead me to my friends Duke and Guy, and they are more like brothers to me. I'm so happy my life is changing for the better.

  We have a blast talking and getting to know one another more. We just click. I claim them as my older brothers, and they are so sweet and funny. I hope for the best for them. I hope the moon goddess shows some compassion for Guy and gives D the courage to tell Derek that he's his mate, finally. We're just finishing our food, but I can't help replaying my daydream in my head. 

  "Hey, Mands is thinking dirty thoughts," Duke says as I blush uncontrollably.

  "Hey, what do you think about baby girl?" Duke says, curiously.

  "Oh well, nothing," I say, blushing like a ripe cherry tomato.

  "Ok, sis, what's up?" Guy says. I tell them what happened, and they get in protective mode with me.

  "Yeah, I know. I can't stop thinking about him since that first kiss and the way he touched me," I say, slightly defensive.

  "Hey, whoa, wait a minute there, sis. I don't want to hear this. God, you have it bad, and I thought I had it bad. Guy, she is in love with that jerk. Anyway, let's get ready. The movie starts in an hour." Duke said. We start packing the stuff up, laughing our butts off while heading back to the car. When we get to the movies, I see Sage and Vanessa waiting outside. We walk right past them. Sage grunts and touches me as I walk by.

  "Hey there, humi," Sage says, grabbing my fingers with his. I ignore him and get my ticket for the movies with Duke and Guy. The guy looks at his mate and tries to get her attention, but she is too busy hanging off Sage's arm and whispering in his ear. She is smiling and loving every minute of this, but she looks at Guy and smiles slightly. The guy looks happy at this. I think he can change Vanessa for the better.

  We head in and find our seats; just as the Fab4 walks in, they sit in the row behind us. Sage is right behind me, smirking at me. What the fuck? 

  "Let the chase begin," Sage whispers.

  "What chase?" I whisper, something tells me I'm going to be in trouble when the lights turn off, and the credits start.
