LOGINAmanda's P.O.V
My hands were still shaking as I walked toward my car.
The whole incident with Sage at school replayed over and over in my mind.
The janitor's closet.
His strange behavior.
The way he'd looked at me.
The way he'd growled.
The way he'd suddenly walked away as if nothing had happened.
It was terrifying.
Confusing.
And if I were being completely honest with myself...There had been another feeling mixed in there, too.
That was what scared me most.
I hated admitting it.
I hated even thinking it.
But when he'd been standing close to me, I had noticed his scent.
Fresh pine.
Forest air.
The smell of the woods after rain.
It was the exact kind of scent I loved.
And now I couldn't stop thinking about it.
"Get a grip, Amanda," I muttered.
The last thing I needed was to develop even more feelings for Sage Stone.
The guy had spent years making my life miserable.
Yet somehow my stupid heart refused to listen to reason.
The school parking lot was nearly empty.
Actually, it was more than empty.
It felt abandoned.
I looked around carefully as I made my way toward the bank parking lot where my car was parked.
Nobody.
No students.
No teachers.
No Fab4.
Nothing.
It felt strange.
Then I remembered.
Tonight was Sage's nineteenth birthday party.
The biggest event of the year for the local wolves.
I rolled my eyes.
Of course.
Every available she-wolf in town would be there.
It was the age when many wolves supposedly found their mates.
Humans weren't invited.
Not that anyone would invite me anyway.
As I continued walking, another memory surfaced.
The first day of school.
Just one week ago.
The day Sage had handed out invitations.
I could still picture him strutting through the hallway like he owned the place.
Which, honestly, he practically did.
Girls had followed him everywhere.
Laughing.
Flirting.
Competing for his attention.
And for one brief second, I had thought he was looking at me.
Really looking at me.
Like I was the only person in the hallway.
My heart had actually skipped a beat.
I had been stupid enough to think he might hand me an invitation.
Then he'd walked right past me.
Straight to Vanessa.
I should have known better.
Vanessa Stone-in-training.
His perfect girlfriend.
The future Luna.
They had been together for years.
At least according to Vanessa.
She never missed an opportunity to remind everyone that Sage belonged to her.
As if anyone could forget.
I remembered standing at my locker while Sage leaned casually against the one beside mine.
For a second, his eyes had locked onto mine.
Then his expression had hardened.
"Remember," he'd said coldly, "nobody wants you here."
Just like always.
The familiar sting settled in my chest.
I shook the memory away.
There was no point in dwelling on it.
The truth was simple.
Sage hated me.
He always had.
So why was he suddenly acting so strange?
Why had he cornered me in that closet?
Why had he looked at me like that?
None of it made sense.
I sighed and adjusted my backpack.
Thankfully, I was almost at my car.
My stomach growled.
Mom was probably already making dinner.
Please let it be shredded chicken tacos.
Those were my favorites.
I smiled slightly at the thought.
The bank parking lot came into view.
Thank goodness.
My uncle was the president of the local bank, which was the only reason I was allowed to leave my car parked there when the school lot filled up.
I pulled my keys from my pocket.
Dad's voice echoed in my head.
Always be prepared.
You never know what could happen.
I slid the keys between my fingers as he'd taught me.
Just in case.
The sun was beginning to set.
Long shadows stretched across the pavement.
I reached my car and was about to unlock it when movement caught my eye.
Near the tree line.
My stomach dropped.
Someone was standing there.
Watching me.
The figure wore a dark hoodie and a hat pulled low over their face.
I couldn't make out any details.
Only that it was definitely a man.
My pulse sped up.
The figure took a step closer.
Then another.
Panic flooded my system.
I dropped my backpack onto the hood of my car and began frantically searching for my pepper spray.
Where was it?
Why couldn't I find it?
My fingers fumbled through notebooks and pens.
I looked up again.
The figure was gone.
Completely gone.
My breath caught.
What?
I spun around.
Nothing.
No one.
The parking lot was empty.
Every instinct screamed at me to get inside my car.
Now.
Then a hand covered my mouth.
I gasped.
Another arm wrapped around my waist.
Fear exploded through me.
I was spun around before I could react.
And suddenly I was staring into a pair of blue-grey eyes.
Sage.
Relief and anger crashed together inside me.
"What is wrong with you?" I snapped the second he released me.
My heart felt like it was trying to escape my chest.
"You're freaking me out!"
His eyes never left mine.
They seemed darker than usual.
More intense.
He inhaled deeply.
Like he was trying to memorize my scent.
The action made my skin crawl.
"What about last week?" I demanded.
"And today? What is going on with you?"
No answer.
Not a single word.
He just stared.
His jaw clenched.
His gaze searched my face.
Like he was trying to solve a puzzle.
The silence made everything worse.
I took a step back.
Then another.
Sage followed.
The expression in his eyes sent a chill down my spine.
There was anger there.
Confusion.
Something else I couldn't identify.
Something that made me nervous.
"Amanda," he said quietly.
The sound of my name on his lips startled me.
He never called me Amanda.
Only Humi.
For a brief moment, neither of us moved.
Then reality crashed back.
Whatever strange thing was happening with Sage Stone, I wanted no part of it.
I reached for my car door.
My fingers wrapped around the handle.
Sage's eyes widened slightly.
Almost like he wanted to stop me.
But he didn't.
I yanked the door open and climbed inside.
The locks clicked immediately.
Safe.
At least safer.
My hands trembled as I started the engine.
Through the window, I saw him standing exactly where I'd left him.
Watching.
Not moving.
Not speaking.
Just watching.
I didn't wait around to figure out why.
I drove home.
Fast.
By the time I pulled into the driveway, my nerves were completely shot.
I rushed inside, barely managing a greeting to my parents before running upstairs.
My bedroom door slammed shut.
Then the lock clicked.
Next came the windows.
Checked twice.
Maybe three times.
Only when I was sure everything was secure did I crawl onto my bed.
I pulled my blanket around myself and curled into a ball.
The tears came before I could stop them.
Nothing made sense anymore.
Why was Sage acting like this?
Why was he suddenly everywhere?
Why couldn't he just leave me alone?
And the question that scared me most of all—
Did Sage Stone have feelings for me?
Because if he did...
Then everything was about to get a whole lot more complicated.
Amanda's P.O.V Sage gently puts the blindfold on me and ties it at the back. He takes my hand and guides me inside, what I can only assume is his closet. What are we doing in here? This is a bit weird. "Wait right here and stay still," Sage said as he gently positioned me up against the wall. This is definitely his closet; I can't see anything, but I can feel clothes hanging up. "I made this room years ago, and I have never revealed it to any other girls. I made this room just for my mate and me, so we would have a room to play in." Sage stated. "Ok Alpha, show me." I gulped and licked my dry lips; this was making me a little nervous, but also very excited. "Not yet, babe; after I am done with you, then you can see what the playroom looks like," Sage said, taking my hands in his as he led me through a door and to what I can only assume is a bed. "I need you to get on here, on all fours, and stay still." He says to me; I willingly oblige as he helps me up onto the bed. It
Sage's P.O.V My mate truly is amazing. I can't believe she is mine. She always surprises me. I thought she would run a mile when I mentioned the dom and sub stuff, but she didn't. She's really willing to try it, just to please me. I know I'll have to take it easy with her to begin with, but maybe if she likes it, we could try other stuff. "Just don't fuck it up!" Lee mind-linked me; he's still bitter about all the other times I fucked it up. "Lee, I promise I won't fuck it up. You and Mandy made me see sense. I'm not going to ruin this." I mind-linked him back, trying to convince him of my changed ways. "You do realise Mandy can hear everything we're saying, right?" Lee asked. "I'm not stupid. I blocked her from hearing our conversation the second you spoke up," I said, " Does he really think I want our mate to hear everything we say? How would I ever be able to surprise her if she did? Lee didn't say anything for a while, like he was contemplating something. I just don't k
Amanda's P.O.V As I lay in bed cuddling up to Sage, I couldn't help but smile. I was downright happy. I couldn't help but think back to the conversation I had with Vanessa when we were coming up with the plan. I never believed it would work. I was over-anxious and kept thinking it was going to blow up in my face, but Vanessa was certain it was going to work. The plan to make Sage jealous…. Step one: Vanessa will call her cousin Liam and let him in on what we want to do. Step two: Arrange for Liam to meet up and hang out with me. Step three: Always text Liam out in the open for Sage to see how happy I am. Step four: When Sage finally caves in, make the point that I can be with whoever I want, let him know that I am inviting Liam over to meet my parents. Vanessa took no time in texting Liam, letting him in on the plan, and he didn't take any time at all in texting back, saying that he was in. I am so happy that they helped me out, as it all led to this. Everything has fin
Sage P.O.V Lee's right, I can't fuck this up anymore. I have to be there for our mate. What was I thinking? I know this is going to be dangerous for her, but I can protect her. I should have realized that from the start. Lee finally gives me back control,l and I'm looking at Mandy through my own eyes. God, oh, she is beautiful. "Lee is right, you're my mate, and I shouldn't be ashamed or scared. You're right, we should just be together, just us two and no one else….I love you." I said, looking deep into her big, beautiful eyes. She just sat there looking up at me, a half-smile appearing on her lips like she was still unsure whether to trust me or not. "I know I have screwed up in the past, it was because I was scared about us, about what everyone would do and say, about how you could get hurt, and that was the last thing I wanted. I can't stay away from you; I can't deny the feelings I have for you. I love you, and if I have to, I'll spend the rest of my life trying to earn your
Amanda's P.O.V I look at him, confused. What the hell is going on with him? When he looked at me, his eyes were dark black pools of liquid, but now he's looking at me again, and his eyes are back to their normal blueish grey color. He looks at my neck and sees my blood trickling down from the open wound. He moves closer to me and starts licking my neck, causing the wound to heal up before I bleed to death. "Mandy, do you know why my wolf, Lee, bit you?" Sage asks, still looking at my neck. I just sat there frozen, I'm completely speechless from what just happened, and I just shook my head at him. "Do you know about marking? And how the only way you get marked is because you're someone's mate?" Sage asked me, this time looking into my eyes. I nodded, of course, I knew about marking, I've seen enough she-wolves with the mark on their necks. "Well….Mandy….you're our mate. Now you're stuck with me, whether you like it or not. That is why Lee marked you; he wanted to do it when
Amanda's P.O.V I wrapped my legs around his waist, grinding myself against him. He moved his one hand to the back of my neck, as the other wrapped tighter around my waist, deepening our kiss. I slide my hands down from his neck to his chest and abs. I felt him tense as I moved my hands lower, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his jeans, pushing them and his boxers down to his knees. He pulled away from me, looking down at them and then back up at me, making sure I was certain. I smiled at him and nodded. I could see he was already hard for me. He moved closer, grabbed his cock and lined himself up to my pussy. He thrusted into me, hard and rough. I screamed out in pain because of that. "OW! That hurt." I screamed. Sage stopped immediately and looked at me. A sudden realization crept on his face. I was dry down there. He licked his fingers and moved his hand down between my legs and started rubbing my clit, making my juices start to flow. I instantly felt myself get excited and
