10. Ethan's POV.

"What do you want?" I grunted as Nathan stopped beside me. "I thought I told you not to come near her." My eyes narrowed at him.

Nathan smiled. "Calm down little brother."

"Don't call me that!" I nearly lost my cool and sighed. I glanced in the direction Rachael left and turned back to him.

"Dear brother, I hope you are getting ready for tomorrow? I wanted to remind you when I win tomorrow—"

"You aren't winning tomorrow," I cut him off.

"Okay, correction. If I win tomorrow, I will make sure to end it quickly. I'm not that wicked."

"Look, the only reason you are still here is because you are the chairman and my brother. If you overstep again, I will be forced to act, especially when it comes to Rachael," I spoke sternly.

Nathan's eyes danced on my face and he chuckled. "You know you have a woman betrothed to you right? Don't tell me you want to have sex with the we—"

I glared at him. I tore large holes in his skull with my eyes. At least, in my mind it was what

    9. Rachael's POV. My breath was frozen in my lungs. Externally, I didn't exhibit any reaction to his words. I blinked instead and remained quiet. Inside, not so much calm. All negative emotions threatened to surface. I felt like Ethan had used me as an object of comfort. Edgar stared for a while longer and sat back with a look of satisfaction on his face. "He's to be engaged to Naomi Rutherford of the Riverdale pack.""But he seems so young, to be betrothed." I managed to say after a while. "Well, it doesn't matter. His marriage will make matters good between their pack and ours. There will be peace for a long time, even after I die." He smiled back at me. I glanced at the coffee and cookies. I wished I didn't decline the offer for food. "You seem lost in thought."I shrugged. "No, I'm just a little overwhelmed. A normal person like me, can only wish to get this treatment. Werewolves treat humans like trash, but here I am talking to a Frost. I'm still trying to process it.""Tak

    8. Rachael. I hadn't slept a wink last night. It was harder than I thought, my eyes just wouldn't shut itself. Especially with the presence of a man like Ethan beside me. What the hell happened? I wanted to scream in excitement! I had kissed a man I barely knew! We almost went all the way! My question, was why he had stopped? I was nervous, but I wanted it. He suddenly had cold feet and started acting like a proper gentleman. "—I'm so sorry Rachael," I repeated his words with scorn. A proper gentleman that had wrapped his large masculine arms around my body and devoured my lips like he was hungry! I sat up frustrated in bed. I couldn't deny I didn't want the extra step, but somehow I was grateful he had stopped there. Thinking about it made me blush, with how gentle he was for a man that looked very dangerous. Dangerously handsome. I wasn't sure how I would face him after that. Even now, I might not be able to look at his face. I looked around the room. It was no surprise to

    7. Ethan. I was on fire, every nerve in my body was screaming with need. I could barely remember who I was. To think a simple word—mate could make me desire something so bad. It was hard to not to feel her close to me, her soft breathing sound, the scent of her body fresh from the bathroom. I tried to think of stupid things, like how the weather would be tomorrow, what I would eat for breakfast or even probably—how I would chew out Nathan when I saw him but it was nothing in the face of my desires. I was like a canoe, riding along the surging waves in the open sea. I was weak to it—I was losing. Just when I thought the night couldn't get worse, I felt her presence behind me. "Ethan?" She called out in a soft voice. I turned back at her, trying to ignore the mating call within me. I clenched my jaws and flexed my knuckles, a futile attempt to maintain the dying embers of self control. "Rachael?" My voice was stressed. I could make out her face in the dim light. She was super clo

    6. Ethan. I couldn't help but look back at the corridor, wondering what Nathan would be doing. For me, his reaction when father announced his marriage to Rachael was lesser than I thought. I expected threats, I thought he would blow out or incite something from the law but he gave in too easily. A glare and a walk off wasn't enough. I paused at the stairs and closed my eyes, shutting everything out. I really hoped it was all in my head. The steps below looked before me and I slowly placed my foot on it, just in time for a sharp pain to hit my chest. I nearly lost my footing and grasped at the railings to regain my balance. It came as a shock, because it was my first time experiencing it. But the pain was different, it was leading me somewhere. It was leading me back the way I came from. "What is this?" I mumbled. My hands wouldn't stop shaking. My wolf was excited and alarmed at the same time. I could smell something wrong in the air. As I took a quick sniff, I smelled it. T

    5. Rachael || A huge lump formed in my throat but I swallowed it back and shook my head. "You are lying. My uncle isn't dead." Alpha Edgar's eyes remained fixed on me, in a way that tore my heart into tiny pieces. He didn't have to use his words, those dark eyes were enough to echo the words in my head. "No, Uncle Jonathan can't die! He will never—" My words hung in the air as Alpha Edgar clapped his hands and the doors burst open. A hefty guard walked into the room and placed a tablet before him. My heart started racing as Alpha Edgar typed on the screen and turned it in my direction. "The plan was not to tell you in this manner. But your enemies will stop at nothing until they have their hands on you..." He whispered but my brain could barely take in his words as it was focused on the image on the screen. My legs developed a mind of their own and before I knew it, I was standing with the tablet in front of me, watching the gruesome video play out. "You will never harm the m
