Syria’s POV

Uncle slammed the door shut behind him. I was alone in the room, and in front of me was Bennett and Novene.

He stood up from the floor and glared at me with nothing but sheer hatred in his eyes.

“You'll pay for this," he snarled. "Mark my words, Syria. You'll never get everything you want. You can't manipulate Father. Not this time. I know what you're doing. You're just using him… because he's lusting after you."

I refused to give in.
