Syria’s POV

It was almost dawn when I finally got home.

Violet and I had parted ways earlier.

After everything that happened with Kael last night, Violet and I only saw each other again the next morning.

Apparently, she had been looking for me the entire night. She panicked when she couldn’t find me. I actually felt bad about it. In a way, I did abandon her. But thankfully, she’s a good friend. She forgave me right away, even though I could tell she had been genuinely worried.

I was expecting the house to be quiet when I returned. It was still too early, barely any sunlight yet.

I assumed everyone would still be asleep. But the second I stepped inside, my entire body froze.

There, right in the center of the living room, I saw my aunt, Novene, and Bennett, all of them on their knees before my uncle.

They looked terrified.

My eyes shifted to the rest of the room. It was a complete disaster.

Furniture was flipped over, vases shattered, glass from the mirrors and windows scattered
