Syria’s POV

I froze.

A chill ran down my spine.

A horrible thought crept into my mind. I didn’t want to think it, let alone believe it.

Could my uncle have killed them?

I turned my head slowly and looked at him. He was waiting for my reaction, watching me closely.

But I shook my head, rejecting the idea.

That couldn't be true. As twisted as my uncle was, I couldn’t bring myself to believe he would go that far.
