Syria’s POV

"Can you walk?"

I nodded slowly.

“Yeah. Don’t worry too much. I’m okay now.”

I meant it.

After everything I went through, I actually felt better now, better than I had in a long while.

Maybe it was because I’d been staying here, with Kael, for a few days.

He didn’t leave me alone for even a second. He made sure I had everything I needed. Food, water, and clothes. And more than anything, he made sure I didn’t feel alone.

He took care of me.

He looked after me in ways I never expected from someone like him, someone who used to be so rough, especially when it came to sex. But something changed.
