Syria’s POV

“Everyone, we are about to start leaving!” Kael yelled after.

We eventually climbed onto the trucks. He was grasping my hand, and as soon as we got inside, Kael was next to me.

The journey wasn’t smooth at all. We had to stop several times along the way. Either the roads were too narrow, blocked by fallen trees, or worse rogue wolves showed up, aggressively guarding their territory.

“Secure the vehicle!” someone shouted, and everyone snapped into action.

The guards were quick, surrounding the area, trying to protect the convoy.

“I want to help!” I told him.

“No! You need to stay here! We can handle this!” he commanded, and his serious expression left no room for me to disagree.
