It wasn’t until the next morning did Awa finally got to read the file Ella sent, she skimmed through the document and visited the facebook link to the character she was holding. As soon as the page loaded, she received a message from Ella.

What’s meant to be a blind date turned out to be an impromptu counseling sesh with Drew. Plot twist:she was the one doing the counselling this time. How quickly the tables have turned, she would've wanted to say; preferably with a smirk on her lips. But she decided against it. After having dinner at the restaurant, they decided to visit a different place albeit their formal wears. She suggested they try for dessert, kaya dinala niya rin ang binata sa malapit na ice cream parlor na pag-aari ng pinsan niyang si Lianne, kambal ni Liam. (Not Liam Skye, though.) “Hello Rica,” she greeted the lady in the counter. Rica beamed at her and greeted her back. “One chocolate mud pie and— ano’ng sa’yo?”&
Liam Skye is waving at you. Tap to wave back. She left him on seen; she’s as immature as she’s childish— especially when she’s got alchohol in her system. But, of course, Liam Skye seemed to have another idea. Liam Skye: don’t ignore me I’m just concerned, ok?&nb
“What was up with your siblings?” first thing Awa heard in the morning, as she sleepily answered a phonecall that bothered her slumber. “Bakit sila sumugod sa opisina ko kahapon?” Eyes glazed with sleep, she shifted and lay on her back. She yawned raucously; unladylike. “I thought you’d know, Pa.” “Well, I do have some guesses.” Her father paused. “And please don’t yawn like that, anak, tatakutin mo pa mga kasama mo sa bahay niyan.” She laughed drily at her father’s attempt at humor. “Nice try, Pa.”
“Sorry,” Awa cleared her throat, “that came out harshly.” She didn’t want to deal with this again. She was single, what seems to be so wrong about that? She was getting tired of having to deal with this “issue” every time she comes across people. “Come on, let’s eat!” her Ate Ada called; there was too much enthusiasm in her voice, a total contrast to what Awa was feeling at the moment. “Rich prepared the food, come on!” That one exchange dampened her mood, she was half-heartedly playing with her niece and nephew, because even them couldn’t do anything to cheer her up. Ang ending, maaga siyang nagpaalam sa kanila at
Liam: good morning babe J Was what greeted her first thing in the morning, and she didn’t want to get used to it. Carmela: walang good kapag message mo unang nababasa ko&n
“That is total discrimination!” Awa irately pointed at the printed words as if it was any of their faults. “I could not accept something like this!” “Girl, kalma.” Mia pushed her coffee cup towards her. “Here, drink some coffee first.” “Pareho talaga kayo’ng wirdo.” “At least maganda.” Depensa agad ni Mia. “Anyway, Awa, madali lang naman solusyunan ang problema mo.” “Yea,” Myra nodded vehemently, eyes busy looking around the coffee shop. “Maraming afam dito, beh, pwede mamingwit.&
It wasn’t anything new to Awa but having even the tiniest of feelings for someone again, after years of having none, sure feels… different. Liam Skye: hey babe, how’s ur day so far? She just stared at her phone screen for a good amount of time, reading the message over and over, and overthinking things she shouldn’t even overthink about. (It’s surprising, really, how she’s still sane after all the overthinking she’s doing, and as much as she’s trying not to, her mind would just automatically go auto-pilot.) But how can she not? When Liam
“How’s your boy hunting going?” She gave her cousin, Rich, a deadpan look. “I’m not even gonna ask where you get that word from.” Rich snickered and popped a piece of chocolate inside her mouth. “What boy hunting?” Krissy, who just came back from the storage with a box of chocolate sample, asked. “Si Awa?” “Hindi ‘no.” “Mia and Rara told me.” “Sila lang ‘yun.” Depensa niya agad sa sinabi’ng ‘yun ni Rich. “We w
