“Is this it? Is this really it for us?” Joe bit back tears over the phone.

Ever since the covid lockdown, his boyfriend, Mike, of four years, started to become more of a stranger.

Initially, they still chatted over the phone and scheduled weekly phone calls even if they lived in different cities. Mike was a few years older than him, so it couldn’t be helped that his older boyfriend had to move cities for his studies. It wasn’t too bad because they could travel over to spend every alternate weekend with each other before the lockdown.

However, he couldn’t help but feel like their conversations were becoming shorter ever since the lockdown. Mike often gave reasons to miss their scheduled video calls, claiming he was busy with university. Joe never questioned it despite their dwindling pas
