Sena's POVI woke to the sound of labored breathing and gentle morning light filtering through the forest canopy above us. We were in a small clearing, sheltered by thick trees that provided cover from prying eyes.Kael lay beside me in his human form, naked and unconscious. His chest rose and fell heavily, as if he'd run for miles. Sweat covered his skin despite the cool morning air, and I could see scratches and bruises marking his body.The transformation had taken everything out of him.I sat up carefully, my own body aching from our escape through the forest.
