Viola’s POV
We stopped at Cade’s door and he rapped on it twice. “Coming!” We hear from the other side. Some shuffling and something falling was also heard as he quickly got to the door. “Derek, Viola.” He smiled but the curiosity lingered in his face. “Please come on in.”We walked past him to his living area. His home was littered with books and notebooks, pens, and yet it had a very cozy feel to it.“What can I do for you?” His eyes flickered between us both. Derek nodded to me.“She just shifted for the first time.” He looked at Cade meaningfully. “She has some questions.”“Oh sure!” His face brightened immediately. “C’mon, I’ll make some tea and we can have a chat.” He headed for the kitchen.“I’ll leave you to it.” Derek smiled at me. He brushed hair from my face and placed a soft kiss on my forehead before leaving.I went to the kitchen and sat at the table.“So how was it? Finally joining the ranks?” He smiled, Cade always had an easy nature about him. A very likable guy. “I, that was blissful. But it’s.” I stopped. How was I going to talk about this.“Overwhelming I’m sure.” He spoke as though I just couldn’t find the word. “Yeah.” ‘Just spit it out, we haven’t got all day Viola.’ Vex sounded frustrated.“What do you know about, about mates?” I hesitated. “Specifically, having more than one?”His eyes widened in surprise. “Not much, it’s a pretty rare phenomenon. But I have read some about it. Hold on.”He shuffled to the living area and I could hear him rummaging through papers and books. “Ah ha! Here it is.” He came back and shoved a dusty book on the table towards me.I sneezed as the dust flew up. Wiping my hand over the cover I read. “Dyad’s from the Night Goddess.” I squished my face, “Dyad?”“It means two. It’s the only book that I have ever come across with that sort of scenario. Go ahead and take it.”I nodded my head. “Thanks. And-”“Don’t worry I won’t tell Derek. This is your deal.” He smiled. My cheeks flamed at the comment. “Uh great, but I was going to ask about being bound, and well poison that lasts for nineteen years.”“Oh, right, sorry.” He took a deep breath. “We should go into my study.” I followed him down a narrow hallway that opened into a small study.“I had already started looking into this, however, different poisons have different times and acts differently with other ailments. Nineteen years is pretty specific, and that is one that I was able to find.” He walked to the desk in the center of the room and ran his finger over pages as he turned them, skimming it. “This here, it’s called Valencien, it’s a rare form of Wolfsbane and much more deadly. However, when used with a spell and mixed with other ingredients it actually transforms into a binding agent. Being that you were also bound at this time I would say that this Valencien had actually kept you bound for even longer. I am actually surprised that it only lasted nineteen years.”“You’re surprised?” I pinched my face up. Nineteen years seemed like a long time to be bound for.“Yeah, when Valencien is used the binding is supposed to last a lifetime for a wolf. But it couldn’t have been anything else that I had found because then your wolf would have submerged when you hit puberty.”My cheeks flamed again.“Uh sorry.” His cheeks burned as well. “Anyway, yeah. It’s surprising. There is only one other type of root that it could have been but it is much harder to utilize, not to mention it likely would have made you much weaker.”*****Derek’s POVThe alpha’s daughter was my mate. I couldn’t believe it. It was no wonder I hadn’t already found her. Standard timing was at fifteen, the beginning of high school. I remembered finding it curious, but it happens. Not finding a mate bond until your twenties, hell I had even heard of people being in their thirties. But it wasn’t a common scenario unless someone had lost a mate. The Night Mother always had her reasons. I always believed my family abandoning me was the main reason I hadn’t found her.‘Let’s go find her! We have to talk to her.’ Duban whined.I shook my head. ‘She needs some time clearly Duban.’ He growled in my head frustrated. I was right there with him.I watched as Viola left Cade’s, her strides were more confident than they had been before she had her wolf. She was slowly coming into herself, her ability to partially shift so quickly with no training completely astounded me. Drew had been practicing for years as most of us do and he barely had his claws out when I got there. Viola stopped in front of her house as though debating on whether she would go in or not. Abruptly she turned and went the other way, her eyes looked red from here. ‘That must be her wolf on the surface, get over there now you idiot!’ Duban yelled in my head forcing my limbs to her quickly. I easily caught up to her fading figure.“Viola, what’s wrong?” She had slumped against a tree trying to calm down her breathing. Her eyes glowed red as she pulled at the grass. She let out a deep breath and looked at me seeming completely vexed.“Vex was right.” She made no attempt to continue her thought process, but her eyes slowly began to turn to her usual violet color.I dropped next to her on the grass as she leaned back against the tree closing her eyes. “What are you talking about?”She opened her eyes and they were glistening with tears she wouldn’t allow to fall. “She had me bound and poisoned. She isn’t even my real mother!” She squealed. My eyes widened in understanding. “Your wolf thinks Dalia did this to you?” She glared at me as the red came back into her eyes. “Knows. Vex Knows what she did. She remembers. And when I went there and smelled her, I knew she was right. The memory came flooding back Derek.” She slumped. “Do you think my dad knows?” She shook her head. “Of course he does. How could he not?”“No. I absolutely do not think he knows.” I scratched my head and stood up pacing in front of her. ‘Are you sure he doesn’t know?’ Duban asked carefully. I give him the same answer.“Derek, I can’t stay there.” She looked at me still rattled.“Stay with me.” I put my hand up to silence whatever she was going to say. “I am not pressuring you and I refuse to mark someone who is unwilling. But I won’t make you stay in the pack house with her any longer.” She pursed her red lips and nodded.Stella’s POVViola was adamant about me attending this strategy meeting, I tried to tell her no and when she gave her reasoning for why I should, there just wasn’t a reason to say no.I recently found my mate when all of the other packs came to visit, I didn’t approach him, and he didn’t approach me either. Probably because of the vampire thing, but I knew he would be in that meeting and I wasn’t so sure being in the same room as him was a good idea.I sighed, Viola had a become my closest friend here, I didn’t want to tell her no anyway. I debated telling her about who my mate was, I was sure she could help. But it seemed like such a small thing compared to everything we were currently facing. Because of my father. Yup, that was the reason. When I went into the study with Viola and the alpha’s I could feel their eyes and judgment on me. Except for Viola, and maybe Alpha Danner of the Bloodrose Pack, my mate. I glanced at him once to see that he had his eyes trained on me, I couldn’t
Alpha Sigrid“What is your purpose here?” Voldin stood in front of me, glowering. “You killed two of my warriors to get here. Speak!” I commanded.Voldin hissed. “Alpha auras don’t work on Vampire Lords, Sigrid.” Voldin’s teeth lengthened. “If you had more competent warriors, they would not be dead.”I stood up and was in front of him in seconds. “What is your purpose here?” I repeated. Vampires were a pain in the ass to deal with.“My witch cannot do a location spell.” Voldin lifted his head. “I need to find someone of importance.”I laughed at the prospect of him needing a favor from me. So far, much to my displeasure, I have needed his help more often than not. Up to and including taking down Shadow Pack to the point where I could launch a full-blooded attack on Alpha Drake. I knew that Avery was no longer there…but perhaps she left something behind, something that would help me find her location.“Who do you wish to find?”He shook his head at me. “Not your concern. What should co
Avery’s POVThe sliver of light that began forming in my soul was all I needed to confirm that Viola finally had her wolf back. I had been bouncing from town to town, mostly rural areas, but it was all I needed to keep myself alive. It had been a whole month, possibly more, since I felt the first slivers of her wolf awakening.I hadn’t made it back to Shadow Pack, and I wasn’t sure that I should. When I left my mate, my love, my home, my heart ached for them every day. I felt the loss when he marked another, though I had rejected him and the pack.He thought I left willingly, and that is what I told Alpha Jake as well. Everyone thought I left of my own volition. Even Drake didn’t question what was happening, didn’t think I would have been forced. My rage bubbled inside of me as I thought of Dalia and Sigrid. How could it not?‘It won’t be much longer now.’ Aliah spoke in my head, comforting me. She always did. She was as angry as I was, and comforted me anyway knowing we would have ou
Viola’s POVAfter marking me, I laid there for a moment with my mates, my body was exhausted. They both had their heads pressed into the marks they put on me as they breathed in my scent. I don’t know how much time had passed that we laid that way, but we snapped out of it when someone began ringing Derek’s doorbell. They both growled as they got up and dressed. I frowned at the sight of their clothes when I remembered that they ripped my clothes off. I sighed. Trenton and Derek grinned realizing my circumstances.“I guess you need clothes, huh?” Derek teased.I growled and sat up, two can play that game. “I guess I could just walk through the middle of the courtyard naked to go and get some.”They both growled possessively making me bite my cheek to hold in my laughter.“Hold on.” Trenton said heading to Derek’s closet. He came out with a light grey t-shirt and shorts.I grumbled at the attire, knowing I would be able to change after I got to the pack house. Derek left to get the d
Viola’s POVRelaxing into my mates at the same time felt more right than I would have ever guessed. More natural than breathing even. They both held one of my hands as my butt was in Derek’s lap, with my legs draped over Trenton.I was getting lost in the sensations roaming my skin as they touched me and held me. The sparks I felt touching them before were nothing to how they felt now, it felt more intense, more intimate. Vex’s idea of both of them marking me together passed through my mind again as they held me. I was drawn to it but it seemed awkward as well, I couldn’t help but picture both of them naked with me, touching and caressing my body.My eyes snapped open when I remembered that they could feel my emotions now. They both looked at me knowingly, with smiles on their faces as a blush crept into my cheeks. I needed to learn how to control myself now, I was an open book! Dammit.I was sure they could smell my arousal on top of the feelings I was getting thinking about them bo
Trenton’s POVWhile Derek and I were getting information from one of the warriors about the different training they do in his pack, Viola’s emotions infiltrated my mind. Irritation, possession, jealousy. I knew Derek felt it too when our eyes widened at each other, because it wasn’t just Viola’s emotions we were feeling, I felt Derek’s as well, and I had a sneaking feeling that he could feel mine. What the hell? We looked to where we had seen Viola a moment ago.She was standing in front of two girls who looked like they were ready to fight her.“Uh, I could clearly feel some jealousy and possessiveness from Viola. Think they were checking out the goods?” Derek gestured to the two of us as he spoke quietly coming closer to my side.“I don’t think there would be any other explanation. Also, how are we able to feel her emotions now, like this, when we couldn’t before? Not to mention each other’s.” I was astonished.“I don’t know, but we need to do something or there will be two dead sh
