Chapter 1

I am a champion.

Even if she was only thinking it, she believed it. She ran a thorough hand through her hair before deciding to pack it up in a loose ponytail. Her light brown eyes looked far into nothingness, short and clean fingernails clicking against each other as if in a fight with the opposite side.

Her single peacock eyelids closed as she sighed deeply, showing off her upturned eyelashes. She opened her eyes again, to resume staring into oblivion.

Her name was Ro.

Simply Ro. Everyone called her Ro. Her mother was an omega who died during childbirth. Growing up, Ro knew nothing about her father and now, she a lone wolf. Well, not literally a lone wolf since she was in the Moon Glass pack, but, she had no family, no blood relatives to be exact. The omegas were her family.

In the werewolf hierarchy, everyone knows there's the Alpha and the other important ranks but not many people know much about the omegas. Runt of the pack, yes, that was common knowledge, even to non-werewolves.

Omegas are basically divided into two, the higher omegas and lower omegas. These lower omegas are shared into different sections. Some of the lower omegas are in charge of cleaning the streets of the whole pack while some are rented. Now, these rented omegas work as maids in the house of whoever is renting for a particular period of time. The one who rents the omega is then treated like the important ranks.

Lower omegas have the Head omegas who supervise them on what to do. One Head omega could have ten to twenty lower omegas under him/her, depending on how influential they are. The higher omegas are the ones who tend to the important ranks, they are mostly always the head omegas although some might not be head omegas. Unlike the lower omegas, higher omegas do not have a head omega but they also do not subjugate up to the head omegas.

The lower omegas have their own houses and the higher omegas have their own houses. Ro was a lower omega. Most times, she was rented and she liked it just like that. After all, she'd rather be rented than clean the streets.

A lower omega would get insults and jabs on both sides but when they're rented, the insults are less. For example, if a lower omega is on the streets, they'd get things like food thrown at them on purpose and the passerbys would just say 'my bad' and because they were the runts of the pack, they dare not talk back. All they could do was just swallow it.

Ro was a twenty three year old beautiful shewolf, her wolf, Asuka was brown with no spots. She was also mateless. But she certainly was not bothered as she already had enough troubles and besides, omegas are often mated to omegas and on notable cases, mated to a pack member.

"Ro!" her head omega, Sheila yelled.

The lower omega looked up as her head omega glared at her before smacking her own forehead. "Daydreaming again?"

"Sorry," Ro muttered. "Sorry for yourself," the older snapped.

Sheila wasn't usually like this, Ro was certain the top ranked officials must have yelled at her head omega. Of course, she, Ro had never met any of them.

Not the Top Epilson, Delta, Beta and definitely not the Alpha. She didn't think they had a luna yet. The lower omegas never get to see them as they're constantly busy. Even at general meetings, they're always at the far back so they never get to see any of the higher-ups.

"You've been rented, that's the address of the house," she handed Ro a paper. "You'll be there for just two days, they'll be responsible for your food now move along."

Ro went to put on her slippers and off she went. When she arrived at her destination, she knocked gently and waited until a short man opened the door. "Good evening, I'm the omega you requested for."

"Come in." Ro walked into the house and saw everything in disarray. Nothing too bad, she thought to herself. "Prepare some dinner and get on with cleaning the house," the man gave orders. "Don't break anything." she nodded her head and scanned the house to look for the kitchen.

"What would you like to eat, sir?"

"Chicken noodles."

She got to work whilst thinking to herself. Does he live alone?. That question was answered when a little girl ran in. "I want chocolate cake," she yelled.

"You have to ask for your-uhm daddy's permission," Ro said gently, not sure if he was her father.

"Don't tell me what to do, stupid omega." Ro sighed as she watched the child run off, yelling for her mother. After cleaning the house and after they'd eaten, the parents and the little girl went into their room not bothering to ask if the omega was hungry.

They didn't even talk to her much. They were responsible for feeding her. Or were they not?.

She went outside in the night and started strolling, hoping to find a fruit tree. She found one close by, ate some fruits then decided to go back to the house. When she got back to the house, the door was locked so she had to sleep outside on the porch.

The next day, a bucket of cold water thrown on the omega woke her up. "Where were you last night? who gave you permission to leave the house? you're a stupid creature."

She kept her head low and kept muttering sorry. After making them breakfast, they all left the house. "If one thing goes missing, you're dead," the wife sneered at Ro. She sighed when they left and had her bath then put on her old clothes, happy she brought her toothbrush.

She decided to go to her isolated river, where she could think peacefully. She loved the river because it flowed from the Artemis waterfalls. The Artems river was a beauty in itself. Sparkling, cool and with a lot of shade. She walked all the way to the river then took off her slippers and sat down on a bedrock.

She didn't know when they would be back so she would have to go back soon except she wanted to sleep outside again and receive another beating. She had only come here for some peace and quiet.

Staring at the water, she noticed something beginning to move behind her. She quickly stood up and turned around.

"Hello," a voice greeted.
