The Hidden Weapon

She knew that she is going to survive this, she took a deep breath as her private nurse keeps on telling her to push through. It was a relief for her when she heard the baby crying. The thunder and heavy rain stop all of a sudden.

"The rain was over," King Morphis said as he quickly walk down the corridor and opened the door to his wife's room.

"It was a girl," the nurse said as she take a look at such a cute and tiny face crying and wiggling on the warm clothes.

"I will call her Niffa," Queen Luize said with joy on her face. King Morphis was so glad to hold her daughter and warm her up wrapping his massive arms around her.

"Niffa, such a beautiful name. I will take care of you so that no man will ever hurt you," He said as he kissed her daughter's forehead.

Ten years had passed, and as they watch Niffa grow away from the town people and not known by the other kingdoms, she started to question why her parents were hiding her but they just told her that it was not the time for her to introduce herself as the princess of Aldon.

It was a hot afternoon when Niffa decided to wear the maid clothes her mother made for her every time she wanted to go outside, it was to make sure that no one will know her real identity. She quickly wrapped the white towel around her head as she walk outside the palace holding the small basket, she immediately went straight to the market and buy her favorite cookies, she was kind and respectful to the townspeople. She was known as the most beautiful young maid in the palace by the town people not knowing that she is the princess, despite her healthy fair skin, long brown hair, and dark brown eyes matching her long lashes making everyone admired her. She always introduce herself as one of the maid's daughters who served the queen for a long time and her father was a palace guard.

"Here are your cookies, young lady. I will give you a piece of this blueberry cupcake for free," the baker said.

"Oh thank you so much for that, but I was-" she should suppose to say that she is allergic to blueberries then she remembered that one of the royal blood's unique features is that they are allergic to blueberries and everyone in the kingdom knows that that's why she accepted the cupcake just to hide as one of them.

"Oh nothing I will take it, thank you so much again," she said as she smiled at him.

"We are lucky enough to eat blueberry pies, I should be supposed to give some to the royalties but I remembered they are allergic to blueberry," the baker said.

"By the way sir, do you know why they do not eat blueberries?" Niffa asked realizing that her parents didn't explain it to her.

"Rumors said that blueberries are considered a cursed fruit for them and it happened a long time ago by their ancestors until now they still believe It," the baker whispered. Niffa just nodded as she wave goodbye to the kind baker.

She went to the woods outside the palace gate, her parents doesn't know about her going outside the gate. For her, a forest is a perfect place for it is peaceful and the sound of the birds makes her happy as it echoed in the woods. She was enjoying eating cookies while reading her favorite book she brought inside the basket, it was all about magic and war that taught her how to be strong and independent. She suddenly heard a sound of footsteps coming in her direction she quickly stands up and clenches her fist ready to punch whoever it is like what her father always taught her. She was surprised to see a vast deer coming towards her, the deer was so beautiful like a magical creature she always read about in the book.

"Wow! You are so beautiful," Niffa said as her eyes glittered in surprise wanting to touch the deer's forehead when suddenly someone stops her.

"Ehem don't touch her by your dirty hand kid," a male's voice said coming from behind.

"What do you want?" Niffa ask looking straight at the tall man wearing a dark cape covering his face, he was carrying a long stick as he slowly removes the cover on his face.

Niffa was surprised to see his violet eyes raging like fire as he smiled at her.

"That is Meria but I guess it's time for her to say goodbye," the man said as he snap his fingers and the deer disappear like a cloud of smoke, Niffa look around in surprise.

"Wow, you also do magic?" Niffa asks as she approaches the tall man.

"Yes, but that's our secret," the man whispered as he smiled.

"Why is a kid roaming alone in the woods?" he asked as he lowered his head to face her.

"I used to come here since I was eight."

"And your parents?"

"They are busy serving the royalties," Niffa responded as her voice stuttered trying to hide something.

"Oh so you live in the palace?" he asked with a grin on his face.

"Yeah? By the way sir how did you find magic?" Niffa said trying to open up another topic.

"Ever since I was born," he said as they started to walk slowly.

"What? But how?" she ask as she stops walking and looked at him with confusion.

"Just kidding, I was a magical creature that only appeared to those who believe in magic!" he said as he wave his hand and create a violet smoke around.

"That's why you appeared to me! Wow, but I have a secret too, and promise me not to say it to anyone," Niffa said as the man lowered himself while Niffa whispered towards his ear.

"I have powers. I can beat thousands of men at a time and can control the weather but I still didn't discover how," she said looking so excited.

"Wow you do have those powers?" the man asked. Niffa just nodded and smile at him.

"By the way mister, you can have my cupcake I don't eat blueberry." She handed him the cupcake with blueberry on top of it. The man stared deeper into her eyes and saw queen Luize from her.

"I know she is the child that Queen Luize talks about, this child's life is in my hand. Queen Luize I don't want you to die just because of this child and I don't want this child to die either. King Seres will be going to make his move sooner and I'm glad I told you about it earlier. I don't know why you choose me to protect this child of yours. I'm just a sorcerer protecting the forest, and I don't want to be part of the evil sorcerer I used to be. Because of you Queen Luize I turned into the good sorcerer I always wanted I will never forget that day you helped me escape from King Seres," he said in his thoughts looking blankly at the cupcake.

"Mister are you okay? Mister?" Niffa asks pulling the man's cape.

"Oh I'm sorry I was just thinking if I will eat this now or just reserve it as my dinner," he said talking about the cupcake.

"Well, it's up to you but are you okay?"

"Yeah of course I'm always fine, well I can accompany you back to the gate," he said as they walk outside the forest and signed her to enter the gate. She smiled as she leave him behind.

"By the way what's your name mister?" she look back and to her surprise, the man was gone.

"Oh maybe he use his magic to disappear," she said and immediately went back to the palace.

Rico get back to his house as he put the cupcake on a plate and stared at it remembering the times he had with the Queen. Their friendship and how he became the greatest violet-eyed sorcerer from his old red-eyed sorcerer self, he remembered how King Seres treated him when he asked for freedom to use his power for the sake of the other living creatures. He always love animals but the other red-eyed sorcerers would just kill them and make a portion of food from their ugly crocodile pets. Rico always finds himself to be an outcast from the other evil sorcerers trained by King Seres, he keeps on asking himself why he always wanted a life free of violence but King Seres keeps on manipulating his mind to keep on killing lives from the other kingdoms. Rico was considered one of the most powerful evil sorcerers from that era. He did kill lives but he always regrets it at the end of the day, then one day they planned to sneak into the kingdom of Aldon to kill the princess who was known to be a powerful human being, it was princess Luize. Rico is the one assigned to kidnap her, but he felt something upon looking into her eyes. Luize was just 23 years old at that time, while Rico didn't know his real identity all he can say is that he is a sorcerer who longed to be a good one. He became friends with queen Luize and the royalties decided to give Rico a place to live far from the hand of king Seres as they pass some of their powers to him where he became a violet-eyed sorcerer and killed half of King Seres' evil sorcerers, and that was just the memories he can remember. His Family and past life are still unknown to him.

"That kid why did she give me a blueberry one, I also can't eat this," he said and leave it behind.
