Jace’s POV

The last time I cried this way was when my mother left without a trace. I had been a kid then, curled up in bed with swollen eyes, refusing food, refusing comfort, refusing to face the world. It felt the same now, except I wasn’t twelve anymore, and the world wasn’t forgiving me for being broken.

I lay sprawled across my bed in my penthouse, curtains drawn, half-dressed in yesterday’s clothes. My phone buzzed endlessly on the nightstand, each vibration pulling me closer to the thing I dreaded most. I tried to ignore it, but shame had a way of clawing at you until you bled. Finally, with trembling fingers, I grabbed it and unlocked the screen.

The blogs were everywhere… ESPN, The Athletic, Bleacher Report, and fan sites I’d never heard of before. My name was trending on Twitter and Instagram, but not for the reasons it used to. Not because of a hat trick, not because of my million-dollar smile on a billboard, not even because of the Timberwolves being on fire. No. It was all

Sabrina’s POVIt felt like time had stopped.Jace’s lips pressed against mine, and for a heartbeat, I wanted nothing more than to stay there, drowning in the taste of him. But the weight of it was wrong, suffocating. My mind screamed at me to pull away, yet my body refused, clinging stubbornly like a moth glued to a flame. It was reckless, intoxicating, like a vampire unable to resist blood. Then a voice tore through the haze.“Jace!”Scott’s bark cracked through my skull, sharp enough to rip me back to reality. I jerked away instantly, my breath catching in my throat.“Are you kidding me right now?” Scott’s voice was steel and thunder. “What the hell are you doing?”Jace’s jaw flexed. “What the hell do you want, Scott? Weren’t you busy socialising?”Scott glared, his voice rising. “Alice is out there with her girls, about to make a grand entrance, and you’re supposed to be with her! She’s looking everywhere for you. God knows what kind of scene she’d have caused if she’d walked in an

Sabrina’s POV“Hurry up, Bree! He’ll be here any minute; we’re already running late.”“You better calm down, Sabrina,” she teased. “I need your curls to be perfect. Just one last turn and you’re done.”She curled the last section, then slipped me into my red dress. My face was already made up, so she combed out my curls with a wide-tooth comb until they spilled down my shoulders, one wave falling across my right eye.“Damn!” Bree gasped. “You look like a superstar.”“Isn’t that what I am?” I smirked, and we both burst into laughter. The sound of an engine roaring filled the street outside. Simon was revving his McLaren 720S, making sure the entire neighbourhood knew he’d arrived. He and I had talked about it last night; he’d insisted on picking me up himself for the couples’ event at Wexford. I told him to send his driver, but Simon was too stubborn. This week was Couples Week, and he was determined to show everyone that we were the power couple.“Oh my God, he’s here already! Bree, h

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 76: The Choice

Jace’s POVThe event ended before I even realised it had properly begun. One second, I was dodging cameras and handshakes; the next, the hall was quietening into soft music and glasses clinking. From across the room, I caught the look on my father’s face. He looked pleased, though I couldn’t tell if it was because I’d shown up on time for once (thanks to Scott’s relentless nagging) or because that reporter clip had gone viral, sparking a flood of comments online. The glory I thought I’d lost seemed to be crawling back, not that it made me feel any lighter.Scott sat beside me, glued to his tablet as usual, tapping away at emails I didn’t care about. His fingers moved fast, his glasses slipping down the bridge of his nose.“Can you put that thing down for a second and focus on the music?” I asked, letting the low hum of violins fill the space between us. “You’re really missing out.”“Hold on… almost done. One email,” he muttered.I rolled my eyes, leaned over, and yanked the tablet out

Jace’s POVI was on my way to see my father. He had specifically requested my presence at the Grand Hotel, where a formal function was being hosted. Scott was with me, as always, and though on the surface this was just another public appearance, I knew it was the perfect time to finally tell my father about Wendy and her increasingly reckless behaviour. She was getting out of hand.Scott shifted beside me in the car, eyeing me carefully. “You need to calm down, Jace. You’re boiling under that suit, and honestly, you don’t look good.”“How can I calm down, Scott?” I snapped. “Did you not see the garbage she posted? I thought you told her not to.”“I tried,” he said with a sigh. “But she wanted information about Sabrina. That was the bait.”“That bitch!” My jaw clenched. “And Sabrina? Have you scheduled our study session for the assignment?”“I’ve tried calling her. She keeps declining. She hasn’t responded to a single message I sent.”“Damn.” I leaned back, exhaling through my nose. “

Sabrina’s POV“Can you not see what that monster has done to you?” My voice came out sharper than I intended, but it was dripping with concern. I wanted to shake her until she saw the truth, but Skye just sat there, eyes glassy, almost hypnotised. Dante had her wrapped so tightly around his finger, she couldn’t see the bruises for what they were.“He loves me,” she whispered, clutching her hoodie sleeve as though it could protect her. “That’s why he… he hits me. To correct me.”Her words stabbed me in the chest. She sounded so tender, so naïve, and so heartbreakingly blind.“Skye, listen to yourself. According to this scan, ” I waved the paper she had nervously handed me. “You’re three months gone. Three months! If you keep living with him, one day he’ll beat the baby right out of you.”From the corner of my eye, Bree shifted uncomfortably. She was always careful with her words around Skye; we both knew one wrong tone could send her storming out.“But he loves me!” Skye’s voice cracke

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 73: Recorded

Jace’s POVThe sound of a cheerful voice broke through my sleep like nails on glass.“Hi guys, welcome to my vlog! Today, I’ll be showing you everything I do in a day in New York City. As you all know, I accompanied my father here for a business meeting, and my stay has been pure bliss. I’m currently in my boyfriend’s house, my soon-to-be husband, I mean. We’re betrothed, and our love has grown stronger since I moved to New York. Let me show you how I wake him up in the morning.”The words filtered through my foggy brain before I even realized what was happening. I shifted under the duvet, half-asleep, the city hum faint through the curtains. Then warmth pressed against my lips an unwanted kiss.“Wakeee! Wakeee! Good morning, baby.”I cracked one eye open and saw Wendy leaning over me, camera in hand, recording every damn second.“What the hell are you doing? Go away…” My voice was rough and hoarse from sleep, and I rolled over to face the wall. She giggled like this was some kind of
