Baron’s POV

I go through Veronica’s details with Jax and walk out of the study, leaving him behind to tie up the loose ends.

After giving Valerie her gifts, I had slipped off her side and got into the study with Jax, for a private conversation. Now, I head back to the bedroom, guessing Valerie is back in there.

The door opens, showing off our bedroom with a dim red light. Soft music plays in the background, giving a cool seductive atmosphere.

But it's empty.

Valerie isn't in sight.

I suppress a small smile that crosses my face as I walk into our transformed bedroom and shut the door with a soft click.

Soft sweet-smelling petals are sprinkled along a path that crawls down to our king-sized bed. Feeling special, I follow the path and stop. Our bed is well decorated with red and white roses forming a big heart in the center of the bed.

“Hmm,” I pick up the bouquet and sniff.

So good.
