Chapter Forty Five
Lainey held on for dear life to the nothingness under her. She could feel coarse fur but could see nothing. Unparalleled awe struck her when she realized she couldn’t see her own hands or arms either. Soaring through space at dangerous speeds, hurtling towards the unknown had Lainey’s heart going into overdrive. Without warning her invisible transport banked right and began a downward glide. Underneath her she could make out trees and what looked like a little pond. Lainey hunkered down and held tight. They must be getting ready to land.
The whoosh to her left terrified her. Before she could turn her head she smelled the ghastly sulphuric stench of her scaly captors and knew the nightmare wasn’t over.

For hours the group took turns checking on Lainey. She had yet to move once, and the purple crystal continued to glow. Dakari thought he could see improvement in her limbs, although in his tired state he realized he might be imagining it. Dakari had conjured a small fire to keep them warm and they huddled around it. As they were all getting hungry he also envisioned a small door that they could go through and still stay invisible. They placed a rock on the ground in front of it so they could find it without running into the walls. Two of the warriors were able to go out and find a few rabbits, which were currently roasting over the fire.

“Plymouth is about five hundred miles away, we need to get going! Let’s load the helicopter.” “You have a helicopter?
