-Isabella- The plastic chair under me was made with woven design, just like the old chairs that used to be made with wicker. My arms were leaned on the plastic table that had a rose-covered tablecloth over it. The same tablecloth had always been present at outside gatherings and picnics. It had been through thick and thin but it was still usable even though it had a few dirty spots over it. The smell of coffee wafted through the air, from the opened kitchen window behind me. It was accompanied with the undertones of damp soil and the sweet scent of flowers that were currently in bloom. The blooming season in the garden started with the first sun rays in spring. The first flowers that would bloom would be tulips, lilac trees and several rose bushes. The roses were the most resilient keeping up their blooms until the autumn when the weather would get cold and depressing. I was always a fan of summer more than any other season. I liked the warmth and sun. Everything was in bloom and
-Isabella- This day was going to be hell. I was so tired, barely able to keep my head up in the office. My mind was constantly drifting toward Damian and Ezra. What had happened after I had left?As I said, I couldn’t focus so besides reading the manuscript I had received that morning. I was also stuck in a loop of constantly checking my phone for new messages. Hoping that at least one of them would be from Damian to assure me that everything had been alright and that he woke up alive and well. Unfortunately, none of them were from Damian and the only ones I’ve been getting were from my sister. I did not look forward to those. Especially due to the fact that they kept coming every fifteen minutes on the dot. They kept making my focus drift from my work to yesterday's argument. Besides, her messages kept varying from calm and collected:‘Isabella, we are sisters. I am sorry for pushing my wishes onto you.’ …To mildly gossipy:‘If you have a boyfriend I think I deserve to know.’…To
-Damian- “Answer me.” Ezra said, suddenly feeling very overprotective of his, by far, the greatest enemy number one. “It’s just a nickname.” I shrugged, willing my voice to stay steady and not reveal anything. For both Bella’s sake and mine. “Bullshit.” He snaps at me. I’m trying so hard to stay calm and collected. For a moment there is only silence broken by his heavy breathing. Before he finally lifts an accusatory finger in my direction. “You called her baby.” His shoulders were squared as if bracing for a fight. “I can’t call someone ‘baby’?” At this point I was truly poking a lion in the eye. But I couldn’t stop. “I thought you didn’t like her anyways. Why does it matter?” I asked, taking a sip of my coffee trying to seem steady even though my heart was hammering inside of my chest against my ribs, hard. “I don’t like her. ” He said through his teeth.“So, why do you care?” I asked nonchalantly“Because, while I might’ve been drunk enough to hallucinate… I didn’t hallucina
-Damian-“You hit me!” Ezra snapped at me, wounded and in pain, clutching the side of his head. My eyes were wide in shock. I looked him over noticing that he was wearing the jeans from yesterday and a white tank-top, probably what was under his button down. “What the fuck are you doing in my apartment?” I barked right back, just as incredulous. “What are you t–” He started to say, rubbing his temple, but as he looked around he was met with floor-to-ceiling windows, bright colors. My taste. Inside of my apartment. He blinked. And then he frowned. “This is your apartment.”“I know this is my apartment.” I deadpanned. “Why are you in it?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. Ezra looked me over and I remembered that I was standing in only my boxers. But I decided to own it. I am in my own apartment. He should be ashamed that he’s here and sneaking up to me like a damned thief. “Why did you hit me then?!” He snapped.“I thought you were a burglar.” I deadpanned, shrugging my shou
-Damian- I stirred in the bed. Waking up from my sleep with ease, for once. The sun was high in the sky, and bathing my room in bright yellow glow through my windows. There was no loud, annoying alarm signaling that I needed to get to work. This time, however, there was another issue at hand. I tried to blink the sleepiness away as I lay down, but it was futile. On top of that, every blink made me feel like I needed to throw up. My head felt like at least a dozen knives had punctured it and made it throb. I rubbed my temples with my hand trying to ease the pain down. I had no recollection of what the hell had happened last night or how I ended up back in my bed. I rolled over and attempted to get the fuck up. Bad idea. I was parched, mouth dry like I was in the middle of the Sahara, my head was pounding. My bed was too soft, and the sun was too bright. Everything felt so wrong, and on top of that, when I finally decided to move the whole room tilted around me. Making that nausea e
-Isabella- My words may have been harsh but they had to have been said. We had started threading through dangerous ground with this whole relationship. There is a slight possibility that we haven’t done anything wrong and that maybe I was simply on the edge from my argument with my sister and Mark. Regardless, having Ezra with us in the same car, Damian calling me from his number was already a dangerous situation. There were way too many lies woven through our whole relationship and it is just a matter of time before they get uncovered. At one point, we are adults. We decide our own fates and lives. We are responsible for it all. There is no need to be worried. But I wouldn’t want Damian to lose his best friend and that the people around us start feeling like they can’t trust us because we hid a secret from them. I glanced at Damian who had now fallen asleep and I smiled softly. I made sure to focus on the drive, shifting my eyes away from Damian to the road. Soon enough, I pulle
