The Human Town

Chapter 7

We all head down the main pack road toward the pack gate. The gate is a beautiful deep maroon color with black spikes on the top, with two wrought-iron silver enhanced doors, as well as a moon with a black Eclipse shaded in red outline, with white indents to show the craters on the moon and the glow in the center when the doors are closed. We were shocked when we saw the name appear above the gate in an arch and the Eclipse formed in the center. “I guess the packlands accepted the name we chose,” I said. 

The road leads to a fork, the road to the right leads to the airport and US highway and to the left leads to town. The trip to town takes about 35 minutes. As we approach we see the school we will be attending Wolf Creek High in the town of Wolf Creek.

 We pull into Betty's Diner across the street and get ready to have lunch as Matt, Crystal, Jackie, Kim and Alice start the food shopping list after we are told to sit anywhere we would like. The older lady who had a name tag with “Quinn” brings us some menus and water glasses than takes our drink orders telling us she will be back with the drinks in a few. 

Around an hour later, after we are all done with lunch we leave the diner Alice, her mom and dad get in the truck with us as we had to the dealerships to get the pack cars and vans ordered.  

We went to a total of five dealerships, to which I was told to sit in my dads truck at the First one, while he and my mom went in. So Alice and I just talked in the truck and listened to music while waiting. After the Ford dealership, we headed to Hummer and my dad and I ordered the pack suvs. Then Mercedes to get the VIP SUV's. After we get told the delivery date we then head to Dodge to order the twelve seater vans one black and one a dark blue color. The last stop is to Acura where my dad gets two Acura MDX for Alice and Matt's parents, one black and one blue to drive back to the pack house.

After we got done we all met up at the diner for lunch. My dad started telling everyone about the new pack vehicle’s we ordered 6 pack suvs that are bulletproof. There are H-2 Hummers, all blacked out with 6.2L V8. It gets the job done for protecting ourselves when needed; they also have strong bumpers and run flats tires.

We also got 3 VIP vehicles that are Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 V8 Biturbo suvs all black bulletproof with limo tinted windows also run flats tires, they have all the bells and whistles inside for comfort and space for all their families we also got 2 trucks that are for luggage and will be at the back of the convoy also bulletproof and blacked out.

After my dad is done telling all that I said, “Is that why we stopped at Ford first?” He than give me a knowing look and says, “Yes dear”, which makes me wonder what he's got up his sleeve. 

We all start eating our lunch and talk about what we all found in the town there is several places including an outlet mall that has Ross, Macy's, Target, Nike, HomeGoods, Sees-Candy, Cheesecake Factory, Pink Berry froyo, Victoria Secret, Bath & Bodyworks, Hot Topic, Spencer's, Claire's, Torrid, Forever 21, AMC Theaters, and a recently closed Sears store. 

Outside the mall and in the town itself there are fast food places like Taco Bell, McDonald's, Arby's, Sonic, Wattaburger, In-N-Out, A&W/KFC, Culver's, Wendy's, Carl's Jr, Burger King, Del Taco, Chipotle, Moe's, Steak & Shake.

There is also stores like Kohl's, AutoZone, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Napa Auto Parts, Burlington Coat Factory, T-mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops, Big R, Dollar Tree/Dollar General, Trader Joe's,  Tractor Supply, Bomgaars, Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Walgreens,  CVS, America's Tires and Jiffy-Lube. Along with a few mom and pop liquor and gas stations. 

In the town there is also a Private and Public Elementary, Middle, and High school, along with a community College and an after school YMCA, a few book stores, and coffee shops and the Public library. There is also 2 police stations at opposite sides of the town and 4 fire stations with Brush trucks and EMS, and 2 hospitals one of which is a children's and the other is Massive 6 story general hospital with a trauma/ER department.

I made a note to myself to tell my dad: I think it would be a good idea to look into a pack hospital/clinic for the pack, as well as a preschool/day care for younger pups. We should also look into a kindergarten for the younger pups as it would not be a good idea for them to go to a human school until they learn to control their wolf strength or they could hurt a human kid by accident. We should also look into an orphanage/foster care for young pups that are found as strays.

Last thing I think we need to look into is Rehabilitation facilities for families going through hard times like DV and Loss with someone to help run them. Hopefully we find some teachers and foster care workers to help with the young pups. 

I really want to make sure that all people including pups that are in an orphanage or foster care are considered to be part of the pack and not outsiders.

“Hey ASH!!! Are you still listening or did you drift to Lala land again?” Matt said to me while poking my arm. “Yeah, I'm listening. I was just thinking of other things that I thought would be good to look into that I need to discuss with my dad later.” I said.

We finish up our meal and pay, then we all head out to get last minute things and meet back at the pack house. When we got back, we saw that the dumpsters had been delivered. We make a game plan on how we are going to spend the rest of the two weeks of winter break cleaning and fixing up the place. After the game plan has been figured out, I say to my dad, “Can we talk in you office please?” To which he replied, “Sure sweetie.” We head to his office and after he closes the door I lay out my thoughts I had at the restaurant. He tells me that it's a great idea and he will look into getting them built.

I step out of his office and make the call to order the pizzas for dinner. Tonight I ordered 6 Large cheese, 8 Large pepperoni and 6 Large Supreme pizzas with 4 Cokes and 2 Diet Cokes and 2 Mountain Dews Liters sodas and wings and breadsticks with some salad and pasta dishes.

 Myself and Kim start setting up the table with cups and plates while everyone else is taking care of making sure the rooms all have bedding and bathroom supplies. When the food gets there Kim and I put everything out on the buffet table to make it easier for everyone to grab as they go. I mind-linked everyone, “Hey You Guys, Foods Here!!! Come and get it!!”.
