Ignoring Dad’s call was the worst idea I had ever thought of. I expected that hearing how well I was doing in school would change his mind and allow me to focus, but that was not the case. I was stopped on my way to the hospital to check on Chloe.

“What do you want this time?” I questioned, tired of seeing them almost every day of my life.

“Your dad wants you. He said it’s urgent,” one of them said, and I sneered.

“I thought I mentioned earlier that I was bu-”

“We were instructed to bring you whether you came willingly or not, so don’t think about fighting Grayson. You are surrounded, and as you can see, we have more people surrounding you,” he warned.

He was right. People sent by Dad to find me lurked in the shadows, and I knew I’d already lost the fight before it began. Fighting and resisting would be futile and would only result in more punishment. I had no choice but to follow them and find out what he wanted.
