Entry 5: December 1950

It has been two months since I became an executive for a company, known for telecommunication.

Guess what, Dante had a partner (lucky dog), the owner of the dam or should I say his wife, gave me a three month old puppy. He looks exactly like him, he was too energetic.

I got up early and prepare breakfast, I have work to attend to. I placed dog food and some water on separate bowls for the two. I went in my bedroom, scanned my wardrobe and wore my formal attire with necktie and went to work.

Things have changed now, I haven't seen Leana and my focus was on my job.

Some women smoked and they can work now to helped out with their everyday needs.

I can say women have been flirting with me, but I rejected them since I am not into dating anyone.

When I went home, my body and mind surrendered. I took a quick rest before I searched the house for Dante. The house seems quiet.

The puppy welcomed me but not Dante. He bit my slacks and pulls me. I followed him and saw Dante on the floor, he was lying on the floor and catching his breath.

"Dante, hey, what happened?" I carried him, my tears started to form.

They were no veterinary clinics nearby...

He was on the brink of death... I started preparing myself for the worst.

I took a deep breath as I can ‘t look directly at him.

My tears well up in my eyes.

"You can stop worrying now, my friend. You can rest. You've been a good pal for ten long years." I started. I hugged him as he tried lifting his head.

He started whining as if he can understand every word I said.

I hugged him as he breathe his last... Moments later he passed away. I cried my heart out as the pup howl sadly too.

That night, I took a lantern and I dig a part in my garden so, I could bury him there.

I placed a sign with his name on it, so I could always remember him. I even place a drawing of him in his grave.

"You will never be forgotten" I said. My tears won't stop flowing while I carry his puppy.

I felt so depressed even with his pup's presence.

"I haven't given you a name" I whispered.

He whined, he wasn't a "he" but his pup was a girl. I think of a good name for her since she whined a lot, "Whitney, do you like that name?" I raised her to the air and she barked happily.

There's nothing important to write... I'm just depressed, my mind is blank...
