“Cassian!” I shouted after him, running on the lawn towards him, but my ankle twisted and I slipped, falling to my knees. I watched as my husband ran to another woman. I tried to get up, but my ankle hurt so much.

“Oh hello,” the familiar voice came as I crawled back on my elbows. “You? Where… Why…” I stuttered; I knew this voice very well. Even behind that fucking voice, I could recognize it anywhere. He was the man who almost let me burn to my death.

“When are you going to realize that you are nothing to him?” He asked, as I looked up at him, in his black and white mask. Water dripped from his black diving suit.

I crawled back, my voice stuck in my throat.

“Don’t you come near me! I will fucking scream so loud” I warned, holding out my hand. Tears filled my eyes, but I wasn’t going to let him touch me.

“Oh, come on, Sasha. He left you here all by yourself,” he said, his voice laced with such excitement. I crawled on my elbows away from him

“What do you want from me? Why me?”

Alaric might be her true mate and it sucks bc she’s bonded to Cassian even though he’s messing with Ravenna. I almost want it to happen and to watch him play into his insecurities that once again he won’t be loved or willingly be chosen bc of “the true mate bond” trauma.
