Sasha
I try to keep up with him, but my hip is in pain. He is so fast that I can’t even keep up with him. I grab my dress and then jog after him. It’s not how I was raised. I have been told a woman doesn’t run, but right now, the alpha king seems determined to get away from here.
“Wait!” I shout, but when he pauses, I find myself hitting his back. I stagger back and lower my head, my heart is pounding hard, and my chest rises and falls. “I’m sorry,” I quickly apologize before he unleashes his anger on me.
“I’m so sorry… I didn’t…” I stutter, reading his face, but it’s cold, and there’s no emotion.
“What is it, Sasha?” he asks. He knows my name. I find myself loving the way he says it.
“I was wondering about my stuff. I didn’t get to pack." I point towards the house. Waiting for his response, he turns to the man who is standing by the door.
“We already have everything you need,” he says, then dips his head, with a smile on his face.
“Everything?”
“Yes. The omega packed everything for you. Including your things. Your handbag is in the car.” He dips his head again, and I nod.
I don’t have a handbag or personal things. The only things I have are the rags I call clothes and a few pictures of my two little sisters. Nicole and Daniela, my father’s favorite daughters.
“Thank you,” I say to the man who holds the door
“No, it was no problem.”
“If we are done here, I would like to be home by first light,” Cassian says and gets in the car on the other side, and I nod my head. Getting in the car and giving the man holding the door a smile,
“Taylor, I would like to pick up something on the way,” Cassian says. Sitting in his chair. The driver’s name is Taylor. I make notes in my mind. I should thank him for taking my things.
“Yes, your grace,” He responds, then the car starts. I turn on my chair, glancing back at the packhouse. It’s like any normal day. Everyone seems occupied with something, and no one to see me off.
My heart aches. I knew I was never loved, but knowing no one wanted to say goodbye to me, it hurt even more. I can’t believe this is my life. I fell back in my seat and let the tears roll down my cheeks. I cried for the home that never accepted me. A place I can call home, but never truly was.
The pain of knowing I was never truly accepted and probably never will be hit hard, and I break down, letting the sobs out. I cover my mouth with my hand, letting the tears stream down my face.
“Sasha…” Cassian’s voice comes.
“I’m so sorry... I didn’t mean…I am…” I stutter when he hands me a handkerchief. I stare at the hand giving me the handkerchief. It has a scar from the finger, then disappears into his leather jacket. I wonder how far it goes; my hands itch to reach for his finger and trace the scar to see how far it goes.
He lets out a throaty growl. My gaze trails from his hand to his face. There’s a line on his forehead, and his eyebrows are narrowed together. The one on his face looks like it’s an old one, and it makes me wonder what kind of monster would do something like this to someone.
“Don’t fucking look at me like that” he growls, his voice a bit huskier.
“I’m sorry... I am fine,” I say, wiping my face with the back of my hand. He pulls back his hand, putting the handkerchief in his pocket.
“Stop saying sorry. It’s fucking irritating,” He growls, taking out his phone.
“I’m sorry… I just…” I stutter, pausing when he snaps his head towards me. He clenches his jaw tight, his nostrils flaring. His eyes burn with a cold fury that sends shivers down the spine of anyone who dares to look into them.
Oh, great, Sash. You have pissed him off.
“Do I scare you, Sasha?” he suddenly asks me. “Do I disgust you?” He asks me as I swallow hard. I don’t know what to say to that. I don’t find him disgusting, but striking. He looks like a man who has lived through pain, yet he scares me.
I shake my head.
“I’m not a nice man, Sasha. I am not your knight in shining armor,” he says, his words so cold they send a chill down my spine. I hold his gaze, not sure what to say, and my eyes roam all over his face.
I should be scared of this man. Yet I find myself drawn to him. He is scary, but something draws me to him
SashaTwo years later. “So?”“Cassian, it’s been less than ten seconds since I peed on this stick,” I snap, looking at the third pregnancy test. He has his arms around me, his eyes shut tight. He insists he doesn’t want to look at this but wants to hold me while I wait.I see the first line appear and follow as the specimen moves. My heart is beating just as fast as his heart. I swallow hard, holding on to his hand. He is so nervous.“So?” he asks me again, but my heart sinks when all I see is one line. I blink back my tears, sighing heavily.“Sasha...” He opens his eyes as I pick up the stick, lifting it to him. “Nothing.” He sighs, pulling me into him. “I’m so sorry, baby. I know…”“It’s fine,” I reply. He tries to comfort me every time that we’ll eventually get pregnant, but I’m scared about what Shaylen said a few weeks ago.“Let’s find a specialist. If you…”“I’m tired, Cassian,” I whisper to him, blinking back my tears. I have tried to get pregnant, but it seems it might be tr
SashaWhen I was four, I had a dream that one day I would find my mate, and he would love me more than anything. At ten, I gave up that dream because I found out I had no wolf. But when Cassian walked into my life that day, I knew that this man would be the reason my heart would break, but I chose to love him anyway.I chose to give my heart to him, and well, he broke it. Touche. But when he willingly walked into a pack full of people who wanted him dead to save me, I fell in love even more. It’s fucked up, I know, but this man did something that most people would never; he saw my imperfections, and he chose to love them.“Still ogling your hot fiancé?” Daniela drops into the chair beside me as I shrug. “Can’t resist a man with glasses,” I retort, and she chuckles, handing me a glass of juice. I take it without looking at her, my eyes still on my mate. He flips the pen so many times, his eyes on the paper that the Alpha form Westwood pack presented to him, a line forms on his forehead
CassianMy head is spinning, and everything seems to be whiter than white. Am I in heaven? Did I meet my maker? I ask myself, narrowing my eyes as I adjust to the light in the room.“Sasha? Sa—” I try to sit up when the doors swing open. “Fuck! You’re awake,” Darci growls, his eyes roaming all over my face, his eyes a glint of relief.“Sasha,” I choke out as Shaylen bursts into the room. “Cassian”“I want Sasha. Where is she?”“She’s coming. Let me call her.” Shaylen takes out her phone. Then he starts calling Sasha. I stare at Darci, who is checking my pulse and then my eyes.“You’re good,” he says with relief. “You scared the shit out of everyone,” he says, but I don’t respond. I feel so uneasy. Bjorn just wants to see Sasha; otherwise, he won’t stop stirring in the back of my mind. When the doors swing open again, Sasha bursts in with tears rolling down her cheeks.I try to get up to go to her, but she runs, slinging her arms around my neck. “Oh goddess. Oh, my goddess,” she cries
Sasha“No!” The words leave my lips, and I see red. A sharp, piercing pain fills my chest as Cassian falls to his knees.I turned to Alaric, thrashing him. He tries to block my punches, but I’m faster. I kick him, and he goes stumbling back.“You killed him. You fucking killed him!” I growl. Throwing punches.“I will rip you apart, limb by limb,” I growl. Kicking him in his gut. He falls back on his tailbone. I pick up a blade from the ground, and I walk towards him. “You shouldn’t have killed him,” I say, tears falling down my cheeks. I took the knife and then stabbed his leg. . He cries, moving back as I take it out. Blood trickles down his face and leg as I pull it out.“Sasha, wait. We can…” He stutters, but I’m done listening to shit. I will kill everyone who took him away from me. After this. I’m going after the bastards who ran away.“I’m sorry, okay? I was…” When he is about to speak again, I get the knife and then stab it in his stomach. He falls back, gasping for air, his
CassianI have never seen her so broken. She looks at me like I can save her sister. I pulled out the arrow in my back, wincing before walking back to her.“Help me,” she chokes out, and I get on my knees next to Daniela. How the hell did she get here? We left her back at the castle.“Please. I can’t lose her,” she cries as I check Daniela’s wounds. ‘Darci!’ I link; I could feel him getting closer.‘Cassian? What’s wrong?’‘I need you here,’ I link, applying more pressure on the gunshot wounds. I look up at Sasha, and she is shaking. My hands feel warm and slippery.“Alpha!” Taylor shouts, coming into view. His eyes drop to the ground. He comes running towards us.“Ella?” He calls her, and I frown, looking at him. His eyes roam around her face. His eyes shimmer with tears as he pulls her into his arms.“I told you to fucking stay home,” he says, his voice cracking. Sasha looks around us, then lifts her eyes to me.“Where’s Ravenna?”“I…um…” I stuttered, but Darci showed up just in time
Sasha“Let me go!” I shout, but the bastard drags me away. “Cassian!” I shout, but he keeps making me move. I looked over my shoulder, thinking of Penny. Is she still alive? Where have they taken her? What’s happening to Cassian? I try to fight off the bastard I came to know as Russell, but Ravenna kicks my back, and I stumble. “Oh, Ravenna. She’s no use if she dies,” Russell growls, grabbing my arm, forcing me to my feet.“I don’t fucking care if she dies. She took him from me!” Ravenna growls, and I fight back, but I feel so weak. They did something to me, and now I can’t shift.“Cassian!” I shout, but Ravenna shoves me into the backseat of an SUV before getting in.“Keep quiet or I will fucking kill you!” Ravenna points the gun at me while her brother hits the gas pedal. But we don’t get far with their car, a wolf jumps on the windscreen of the car, causing Russell to lose control of the car, and it rams into the trees. I kicked the door open, but as soon as I got out, a black wo
