Chapter 4: Caught in the Act

Naera was surprised when an unknown man went inside the private room that his husband booked for them to celebrate their anniversary. She looked at Daemon with confusion.

"Uh... I'm sorry. Do I know you?" she asked politely. Daemon smiled walked towards the table and sat down.

"No, actually I just found you a little lonely. Alone in this kind of place?" Daemon said and put his arm on the table. She scan him like she was figuring out who this might person be. He was oddly familiar, she's thinking that he might saw him once in a television ad. Her mouth formed an 'o' when she remembered.

"Wait, are you that man? That Daemon Morningstar?" she asked quite shocked. The multi-billionaire who was always on the tabloids. Well, how can she forget it? Daemon is handsome. She was sure that no one will forget his handsome face.

"Yeah, that's right! It's me!" She nodded and looked at him shocked. Why is this handsome billionaire sitting here in front of her? "So, who are you waiting for?"

"Uhm... I'm waiting for my husband to arrive," she said with a charming smile on her face, a Somewhat innocent smile like what Daemon said when he saw one. Which he finds annoying but now, she found it a little less.

"Oh, you're married?" Daemon was shocked to know that she was already married. He thought that she was single and just looking for something and angel of death will just come to her. That's the only thing he can know. Well, It's not like he can do about it. But she's still interesting to him.

"Yeah, my husband is a kind man. He was sweet and amazing." Daemon can see that she was really happy when describing her husband.

"I see. But are you sure?" he asked. She looked at him with an eyebrow furrowed.

"What do you mean?"

"How do you know that your husband is kind, sweet, and amazing? Did you ever doubt him for a second?"

"What do you-"

"Like, you think your husband and your best friend are having a thing or something?" Daemon was trying to dig out her innermost desire. Demons have the ability to draw out the desire of humans. Much more the sinister and the darkest part of the soul of a human. But this woman is different from the others.

"Uhh... I thought about it for a while but I erase that because I love my best friend and husband so much and I know that they won't do that," she said truthfully. Daemon was surprised because of how much trust he put in for her husband and best friend. Well, maybe she might be right. But it doesn't sit well with Naera. How can this man just go inside the private room and say these things to her? It was quite rude of him. "Why are you here, by the way?"

"No reason. I never thought that you were a married woman. I thought you were single because I saw you yesterday, such a very unattractive lady you are in the midst of the bursting city of Mephistopholis where there are a lot of sins being committed left and right." She looked at him like a weirdo but he shrugged his shoulders. "Believe me, you're one of the few people who have a pure soul out there."

"Okay, you're creeping me out a little bit," Naera said with an awkward stare at him. As much as she doesn't want to offend this man in front of him, she just needs to be honest. Daemon just smiled and stood up, putting his hand in his pockets.

"Sorry about that, truly. I didn't mean to offend you or something. Very well, I must be on my way. I hope you have a good evening, finding your husband and your best friend keeping their hands busy with each other. See you next time," he said and turned to walk out of the room. Naera was surprised about what he said. Finding her husband with her best friend? Did he lose his head? Or he's just simply crazy? She sighed deeply and drink the water in front of her.

"He must be out of his mind," she whispered with a shake of her head. That man, that Daemon Morningstar is weird. Suddenly barging into the room and saying things like her husband and best friend are cheating on her. That is absurd! She's sure that is not true.

Daemon had this smile on his face after leaving the room. He's putting a seed of doubt in her soul. After that, it will sprout and when the time comes that she will commit the great sin, it's time for him to work and he will do a tempting offer to her. If only his husband will do a very-

"Yumi, what are you doing here?" Daemon stopped and turned his head when he heard the voice. He saw a man with a woman. Wow, he didn't expect to see what he was looking for. The treacherous couple. He smirked. He was really in a good place right now. He didn't believe that everything will fall into place and all the actors are on the stage.

"My, my, it seems I hit a jackpot here," he muttered and stand aside and eavesdropped on them.

"I want to see what the two of you will do! I'm not going to do anything," Yumi said. Daemon pulled out his electronic cigar and looked at the two. They are intimately holding each other's arms. Daemon clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes. Why do they need to be cheesy?

"Hope that they make a move already." After saying that, they did actually. They went towards the restroom, the girl's restroom specifically. He smiled devilishly like a devil incarnate himself. "Why do they do how I want them to do?"

Naera looked at her watch and sigh. Her husband is late for 10 minutes. She stands up to use the restroom for a while then she will call her husband after. She went out of the private room and went to the restroom. She faced the mirror, she looked okay but because of what that billionaire said, she was having a second thoughts, the perfume of scented lilies that her friend loves and-

"Yumi, this is not the time to be so... proactive! My wife and I have a dinner date." She turn around and looked at the cubicles. Is her head playing tricks? I think she heard his husband’s voice and the name of her best friend.

"My gosh, Marco! We both know that you don't want to spend a night with that boring wife of yours! Just like I said earlier, you could've filed for divorce already! Give her some money so that she could start somewhere!" It was Yumi's voice. Her mouth went wide and truly shock her world. The-They're cheating on her? Her husband and best friend? How-how did that happen?

"You know that I need that piece of land she owned that her parents left for her when her parents died in an accident a few years ago, that's what I want! After she gives it to me, then I will divorce her. Give me some time," he said. She can't believe that her husband is plotting something behind her back other than cheating on her. This is serious.

"Ugh! Fine! But I hope you make it quick! I'm getting impatient!"

"Sure, Darling! I am a man of my word!" She heard a click of the cubicle's door. She acted quickly and went to another cubicle a little slow and gentle. There is a gap between the door and her world crumbled into pieces when she saw them kissing. That man is not joking. What he said was true and she caught them in the act.
