“Punish? Alex, I know that you are trying to defend her but she didn’t even let us explain. Did you notice that we didn’t get a chance to explain why we were not home on time? She just concluded that we were up to no good and she grounds us for two months! How does that work exactly?” Arielle said to him.

“She would let us off the hook before the next two months. All you have to do is stay on your best behavior. We would be fine, really. At least she is still letting us go to school. C’mon. Let it be. We would be fine in the end. We should really get down for dinner so that we don’t get into any other trouble” Alex said to her.

She rolled her eyes and walked out of the door. All Alexander could do was sigh. Suddenly, there was this responsibility of protecting everybody around him.
