Chapter 7: Message sent

"Bomb?" I said it out loud.

My pulse rate increases, racing, and thumping in my chest. For a few moments, I was stiff, trying to digest what my cousin, Red, had just told me. I know I should be concerned about my safety, so why am I anxiously worried about Athena's? When I looked at her innocent face, my heart was filled with anguish. She had no idea what was going on with her body or that a bomb had been planted in her head. I want whoever did this to pay dearly.

"Are you okay, Junior?" You appear depressed and worried. "Is something wrong?" Athena expressed concern. She may lack emotions and feelings, but her loyalty is genuine and unwavering.

I gently brushed my hand across her cheeks, looking at her with sympathy. "I'm OK. "Don't worry about me," I softly say.

I shifted my gaze to Red and motioned for him to join me inside the testing room so that we could have a private conversation. He immediately understood my intention, and we proceeded to the testing room, leaving Athena in t
