Jealousy.

Zee POV.

"I like that nurse, he's hot, can you call him again?" Hore says, she was getting bored, and she's laying on the bed next to me, the hot nurse in question has told us twice already to get off the bed, it's only meant for the patient which is me.

"He'll tell you to get off the bed again," I answer her.

"The chair is hard, and I had a long night last night, I can't sit down," she says with a wink to me, my bestie has a lot of kinks, and I don't ask for details, I asked once and she told me all about her night, I was terrified, I couldn't look her in the eye for over a week after that.

"Fine, then stay here and stop calling my nurse, I need to catch up on sleep," I answer her, taking another nap, they have given me a muscle relaxant to help me relax and avoid any neck stiffness from the hit.

"I told you, if you want to have a good night's sleep you have to cum first, more than three times the least," she says and I rolled my eyes at her, with Michael we never reach one, and when we do, it's a miracle.

"Shut up," I say and get back to sleep, closing my eyes and dreaming, I think the drugs they gave me were messing with my head, with my brain, I was dreaming of that guy I saw in the supermarket, the one who taught me how to cook a steak, I didn't know his name and in the dream, I didn't need to call him anything, he understood me without talking.

"Girl, are you having a wet dream?" I heard a very annoying voice say waking me up from the best dream ever, I opened one eye and looked at her with a side glare, that wasn't asked for, she didn't need to do this.

"Hore," I growl, ready to send her to hell, she can have all the kinky sex she wants with the demons there.

"You need to wake up," she says.

"Why?" I say still growling, did she have to wake me up when I was so close to finishing, to finally hitting the top.

"Your people are coming," she answers me.

"What people? You're right here next to me," I answer her, I'm originally from Scotland, and my whole family is still there, I only have Hore who happens to be British along with me, I don't have a family or people around here.

"I mean your work people, the other lawyers, you know? The one who stands up for the devil," she says and I sigh, we're not that bad of people, even if we defend guilty people sometimes.

"Help me get up," I say, the meds had me feeling dizzy, I don't take meds usually, and so having anything in my system had me feeling all weird.

"Why?" she asks me.

"Just do it, fix my hair, do you have your make-up on?" I ask her, needing to look presentable in front of my colleagues.

"Zee, relax," she says.

"Hore, we're lawyers, looks is our number one weapon," I answer her.

"Right, because I look like an accountant, you see the turtle neck and the make-up?" she says with an eye roll, right she's wearing a turtle neck, but it has a heart-shaped opening in the middle of its chest showing just enough of her cleavage, paired with very tight leather pants and her make up was just like mine, sharp and strong, but still looking classy and clean.

"Just help me look presentable," I say and she agrees, she brushes my hair, washed off my morning makeup and added just enough to make me look awake and alive.

We were ready to welcome my people as Hore put it, we mostly work with Americans, but everyone has a different background, we all have our own story, and a reason that makes us very good at our work. They all walked in at the same time, outside of the courtroom and the office, we're a pack, we act like wolves we have each other back since all of us have the same loyalties to our boss Thalia, she owns the office, and she's the one who gets us most of our work.

"Are you okay Zee? What happened to you?" Thalia asks me, walking toward the bed, she only nods to Hore, everyone knows her, she's been around us far too often.

"An accident," I answer her.

"We heard that you were hit and not an act of god," Kennedy says, he believes in god and god's plan, you wouldn't believe how many times that helped him win a case in the court, it's why he gets picked. 

"You know, we don't have enemies," I say with a fake smile, and everyone laughs, they all have enemies, but who would have done that?

"I'll keep an ear out, and make sure no one comes and tries to touch you again," Thalia says and I nod thankful for her, she used to be some kind of mafia lawyer, but those are just rumours, nothing for sure, and she's one who respect the law, hence why we all work for her.

"So tell me more who you got around here?" Alice another lawyer asks me.

"I got Hore, you know her," I say with a shrug.

"Don't play dumb, I mean any hot nurses? Doctors? Patients?" she asks me with a smile on her face.

"I think three rooms down are ready to sue the hospital," I say with a shrug.

"I'm sure that you have given them our number," Thalia says and I couldn't help but laugh, of course, always thinking of work.

"Of course she did," Kennedy assures her.

"Don't you have work to do?" I ask them, starting to get tired all over again.

"Nope, we're staying here with you," Alice says holding my hand, and giving Hore some kind of looks, those two matches most days on the kinky-ness levels, and today looks like one of those days.

"You don't have to, I'm fine and I got Hore," I assure them again.

"I see you're fine, if you need me, text, I'm busy," Thalia says leaving the hospital room and leaving me with Kennedy and Alice.

"Is your boyfriend coming?" Kennedy asked me, and I remembered that I hadn't told him yet, I didn't want him to come over.

"Hore, can you message him?" I ask her, she hates him, she hates him so much, but she'll do it for me.

"You didn't tell him yet?" Alice asks with wide eyes, she has three partners at home, they know every move she makes, she sends them updates on everything, and they love it, they love controlling small aspects of her daily life.

"I was busy, they were having tests," I lied, they only did the main imaging, and then they just came and checked on me every couple of hours.

"And they had her under strong meds, it's why she was sleeping the whole day," Hore says defending me, and I gave her one side look, she knows to leave the talking to me, I'm the lawyer in here and not her.

"Do you need to rest? We can leave," Alice says, but I was bored alone, I love Hore but I know all her adventures and stories, I want to know what's going on with work.

"I'm fine, don't believe anything she says," I answer her.

"Fine," Kennedy says but he is looking at me differently now, he doesn't believe I'm fine anymore.

"So tell me what did I miss at work? What happened?" I ask them, there's always gossip in our work, if not work-related, it's personal gossip and we always find something or someone to talk about.

"Nothing major at work," Kennedy says with a shrug, so I turned to Alice.

"You know Britney?" she asks and I nod, everyone knows the new receptionist, half of the building had their eye on her.

"Of course, even I know her," Hore answers.

"Well Dom has been talking to her, and it sounds like they're having some very heaty nights together," she says, Dom was a guy from the floor beneath us, some tech guy, I never bothered to learn what his official job is but being a nerd.

"I can't believe she's falling for the nerd and not me," Hore objects.

"Have you ever tried maybe not to flirt with anything that breathes?" I ask my friend.

"I didn't flirt with Kennedy, he's not my type," she says and I could see the relief in Kennedy's eyes, she wasn't his type either.

"She flirted with me, and I would be all for it, but I was told not to mess with my colleague's best friend, something about making things weird," Alice says with an eye roll, it means one of her partners has forbidden her.

"Did that stop you two?" I ask them, reminding them that they are still hooked up in secret, not so secret in my office.

"Nah, nothing stops me," Hore says with a smile on her face.

"Can we drop this?" Kennedy asks.

"Sure, we can talk about your love life," Hore says turning to him with a smile.

"I'm glad you're doing better Zee, we'll see you next week," he says.

"Next week? What for? Where you going?" I ask him, I'd see him at work tomorrow.

"I'm going to work, and you're going to rest," he objects.

"I can rest at work," I answer him.

"You should really have a day off, I could talk to Thalia," he says since he's our senior.

"I don't want a day off, I hate days off, I got nothing to do," I groaned, wanting to stay busy and find whoever was trying to kill me.

"Sleeping sounds good and you got her," he says pointing to Hore.

"Her, got a job to do, you know?" she reminded him.

"Fine, but if you wake up with an even a headache don't bother coming, I'll inform the boss," Kennedy says walking toward me, giving me a quick hug and a kiss on the top of my head before leaving, he treats us like his kids, although he's only a couple years older than me, but he was raised from childhood in the courtrooms.

"Bye, Kenny," I say waving at his retrieving back, I liked that guy very much, he acts like he's part of our family more than being just a senior at work. 

Alice stayed with us, she didn't seem to want to leave, but then there was an unannounced guest, one that I didn't think would come here, why would he be here? Doesn't he have work to do?

"Michael," I say looking at him, he looked furious, standing just next to my door.

"Maybe it's better if I just leave, I don't want anyone getting worried for me," Alice says giving me the briefest hug ever, and then hugging Hore and finally leaving the room quickly.

"Do you mind leaving us, Hore," he says growling at her.

"No," she answers him with a smile on her face, I didn't want her to leave either.

"Why didn't you call me?" he asks me with a cold tone, looking at me with a death glare.

"I was in an accident, I got hurt, and I didn't have my phone," I say, although I called Hore and work, but not him, knowing too well he would act just like this.

"You can't be mad at her Michael, she was hurt, and injured," Hore says defending me.

"Right...hurt, then I'll leave you to rest, I'll see you back at home," he says still giving me that look.

"I'll text you as soon as I get out," I say with a fake smile on my face, I kept that smile on until he left and I could finally breathe again.

"I don't get how you keep up with that," Hore says with a disgusted look.

"He's just jealous, he wants to be here with me, that's all," I say giving him the best excuse I could come up with.

"Right," she says shaking her head at me, not believing me.
