Pocket dimension

It was also possible that the first floor served as their home, it was something very common in her home world.

So while she waited for Paige to come back, she took the opportunity to take a closer look at the magic herbs that were displayed in the window in front of her.

And she noticed that they were all level 5, 6 and 7 which was really extraordinary because if the level of the magic herbs was the same as the potential of the mages, then they must be rare and expensive.

Cassy stopped watching through the store window only when the front door of the store opened again, and she could see that the customers who were leaving seemed very satisfied.

Paige came out shortly after, bringing her a damp cloth and shoes as promised, and Cassy was really delighted to be able to clean her feet a little bit before putting on the shoes Paige had brought back to her, and so she thanked her warmly.

She was also relieved to see that Paige wasn’t mistaken and that they really had to make the same size because these shoes fit her perfectly.

Then, Paige made her sign to follow her and she gave back her bark with her magic herbs that she had held the time she could clean her feet and put on the shoes she had brought, she was also very happy that it fit her well, and she reassured her again saying that she should not worry and that her mother would love and buy them.

Cassy followed her inside the store with a lighter heart, if her mother was as warm and caring as she was, she didn't doubt for a second that she would be well received, and when she entered, she was immediately assailed by all the aromatic smells that were emitted from all these magic herbs, but far from being unpleasant, this smell was soothing and gave an impression of well being.

Paige led her near the central display and she told her to wait here while she told her mother about her, she saw her leave towards a corner of the store where there was a woman who seemed to be just 30 years old and who looked like her like two drops of water, the same long golden curly hair, the same green emerald eyes, the same angelic face.

They could have passed for sisters but something in her attitude told her that it was Paige's mother who was there, she saw them talking together and her mother left to talk to a person who seemed to be one of her employees.

Cassy, who didn’t want to seem indiscreet, looked curiously at what was in the central display, and she widened her eyes in surprise when she realized that all the magic herbs that were inside, protected by a glass that was rather thick, had a whitish aura around them.

She then heard Paige call her name and she immediately came to her senses and turned around to smile at her, Paige was accompanied by her mother who introduced herself and told her to simply call her Carol and she invited her to go upstairs so she could get to know her better.

Carol was very surprised because with one look she could see that all the magic herbs in her bark were of high quality, and it couldn't be just a coincidence.

Once settled at the table of their home upstair, she asked Paige to bring them tea and cakes and she said directly to Cassy : "Paige told me what happened to you. You shouldn’t be worried about entering the Academy, my husband and I are qualified to make you take the test, so we will do it when he will come back, like that tomorrow you'll just have to follow him and you won't have to wait in line.

Now tell me Cassy, did you pick up these herbs by chance or do you have some kind of gift. It's very, very rare, but some mages have been known to be able to see what they describe as a whitish aura around magic herbs."

Cassy looked at her in surprise and then she asked her, "Does that mean you can't see it ? Yet all the magic herbs that are in your central display have a whitish aura around them. If you can’t see it, how do you tell them apart then?"

Carol couldn't believe it, this girl could really see that whitish aura... She looked at Paige who looked as stunned as she did and she took the teapot and cakes from her hands before she dropped them on the floor.

She then showed her hands to Cassy and her daughter and she said to Cassy, "I'll show you."

Paige put her hand in hers excitedly and when she looked back at Cassy, she saw her looking at her daughter intrigued and then she only hesitated for a brief moment before putting her hand in hers as well.

Carol was very happy because they both seemed to get along really well, and she couldn't wait to find out what Cassy's face was going to look like when she would teleport her to her personal dimension, Paige had told her that apparently Cassy had never left her village and that she knew absolutely nothing about mages and worriors.

So before teleporting them she couldn't help but wink at Cassy to reassure her and a few seconds later they were landing in front of the lake of her dimension, she then said to her when she saw her completely destabilized by what had just happened, "This is my pocket dimension Cassy. Not all mages are lucky enough to have one because you have to have at least a potential of level 6 to get one, and if you wanna know, I’m a level 7 mage who has already reached her maximum potential.

Paige told me that you don't know anything about mages, so you can ask me all the questions you want but first let me show you the difference between a normal and a high quality magic herb."

Carol connected her mind to her pocket dimension and a level 1 magic herb of normal quality appeared in her hand, then the same one but in high quality appeared right after. She showed them to Cassy and asked her, "Can you see the whitish aura around the magic herb?"

Cassy pointed out the one which had the whitish aura without even hesitating for a second and she asked her in turn, "Is it only by their appearance that you can judge whether they have a whitish aura or not?"

Carol just nodded and she asked her, "Just out of curiosity, do you have any other gifts?"

Cassy didn't know whether or not she should reveal anything else about her gifts, she didn't want them to think she was a freak like in her home world, after all even here her gifts seemed to be exceptional.
