Let me show you

Cassy was still hesitating, and Carol noticed it immediately so she said to her, "Don't be afraid, I won't tell anyone and my husband will keep an eye on you, he's a great warrior, to give you an idea of his power, his level would be the equivalent of a level 9 mage. He's not the only one, but believe me, if you put yourself under his protection you won't risk much."

Cassy after hearing that felt immediately reassured, Carol had trusted her by taking her into her pocket dimension and she had even offered to put her under the protection of her husband.

And even though she didn’t know why she would need his protection, knowing that a worrier so strong would keep a eye on her was something she hadn’t expected at all, so she finally said to her in turn with a shy smile, "Let me show you."

Cassy bent down and she put her hands flat on the ground, she saw the white flame appear in her mind and she focused on it to enrich the soil that was here, but as she started to introduce her energy into the soil, she felt as if she was connected to the dimension and she felt her energy not scattering into the soil around her as usual, but going to a specific place.

She then closed her eyes to better concentrate and try to see where her energy was going but she immediately found herself in a room that was cubic in shape and very bright.

She had just enough time to look at the room she was in, which was totally empty, before she saw a stone appear in front of her that looked like a big diamond and that reflected the colors of the prism on the walls, and curiously she could feel that the whole dimension was connected to this stone.

So she didn't think too much and she just followed her instinct, she didn't know if what was happening was only in her mind or if it was real but she approached this stone and she put her hand on it.

She closed her eyes again to concentrate as much as possible and she breathed the maximum of her white flame energy she could into it.

When she was done, she opened her eyes again and discovered to her astonishment that she was lying on her back, still near the lake of the dimension and judging by the worried looks Paige and her mother were giving her, she must have fainted.

When Carol saw that she was trying to get up she stopped her and told her to take her time and get up slowly, and when Cassy asked her what had happened, she didn't know what to say to her.

When Cassy had bent down and put her hands on the ground, a breeze had begun to swirl around her making her hair fly, but Carol had quickly realized that since they were in her dimension, it was impossible for it to be a breeze, there was no wind in a dimension, there was just a certain amount of concentration of spiritual energy which depended on the power of the mage.

So either it was the spiritual energy of her dimension that was gathering around her, or it was her own energy that was swirling around her, and whether it was one or the other, Carol at that very moment knew that Cassy would truly be an exceptional mage, and that was before she even realized what was happening in her dimension.

Absolutely every magical herbs she had planted in her dimension, even those that were still in seed, had blossomed into their final form where they could be used to make magical pills and yield seeds to stockpile.

She had heard Paige calling her in a panic and she had seen right away that something was wrong with Cassy, she was very pale and her nose had started to bleed.

She had tried to approach her but it was as if Cassy was inside a force field and she wouldn't let her in. She had called her name again and again to help her to regain consciousness and Paige had joined her in trying to wake her up.

All of this had happened very quickly and eventually the force field had disappeared and Cassy had collapsed head first. Fortunately she had been able to catch her before she could hurt herself and she had laid her on her back.

Then she had no time to worry more because Cassy had reopened her eyes and she had seemed surprised by what had happened.

Carol and Paige described to her what had happened and Cassy reassured them immediately, "I have no idea that there was a force field around me, but otherwise it's not the first time I faint. It already happened when I was healing someone... Except that it's the first time it happens when I want to heal the nature..."

Cassy then described to them the room she had found herself in and the stone into which she had introduced her energy, and Carol explained to her that this stone must have been the core of her dimension, and that by introducing her energy inside it she had changed, not just a portion of the ground around her as she had intended to do, but the whole dimension.

Cassy then looked around her in surprise and indeed now there were fields of multicolored magical herbs as far as the eye could see, and they all had a whitish aura around them.

She was still a little confused so she said to them, "This is the first time my energy has spread so far, usually it stays around me, is it this core that helped it spread throughout the whole dimension?"

Carol nodded and said to her, "I think it’s thanks to it yes... But that's not the most important thing right now. Listen Cassy, to feel better you only have to bathe in the lake, don't worry the water is not deep and it is not cold either.

This water is a bit special and it will help you to renew your energy reserve that you had to use up since you fainted. You'll see, you'll feel full of energy after only a couple of minutes.

And then young lady, you and me will have a little talk together, there are things you absolutely must know about mages and I won't let you enroll in the Academy of Catara if you're not even aware of who you really are."

Cassy looked at her still confused, 'who she really was', had Carol found out that she was from another world?

But she didn't have time to wonder too much because she felt Paige's arm around her shoulders and she said to her after seeing the anguish her mother's words had caused in her, "Don't worry, you're not all alone now, and you've fallen into the right family, mom will be able to help you become an amazing mage."
