Author’s POV

Elena made her way to the washroom and did her business but instead of going back to the party, she headed to the balcony on the opposite end. Cool breeze was flowing and it was better out here than in the inside where she was confused.

Aslan’s behavior had brought back unwanted unpleasant memories. She had been quiet blind around John. She had chosen a life partner who didn’t value her; who wouldn’t think twice about insulting her, in public or in private, or wouldn’t even care about her feelings. Not that she was missing him but she was wondering how she made such a mistake?

She chose him of all the men in the world and he showed her that no men can be trusted. Be it him or Aslan; all the men are same.

Aslan sometimes care about her feelings, but deep down, he thinks that she is nothing but a lost bet. His behavior today was a clear indicator of his thoughts. She was not comparing them, but is Aslan better than John? He never insults her in public, always keeps a hand
