Ninety Seven

Xander couldn't stop the voice ringing in his head, "You need to protect her."

He reached the ward door and pushed it open slowly. For the first time, his eyes landed on the woman he rescued the night before, she was different from the bloodied dying woman covered in mud. His legs trudged closer to observe her closer, something felt different in the air.

And she was the cause.

She was like an angel and a peaceful one in her unconscious state. Her pale golden skin reflected against the rays of the sun softened by the curtains while silky long dark hair rested past her shoulders, some falling in little strips of hair on her oval-shaped angelic face.

Her skin looks smooth and flawless except for a noticeable depression on her right nostril, which made her nose look more pinched and aquiline.

His eyes roamed over her face, her little plump lips parted slightly in sleep. Above her brows where the big bump with an acute cut was, was wrapped in a bandage.

Xander couldn't explain why
