Chapter Eight

LOTUS

"Calm down," murmured the woman, lifting her hands above her head."We are not your enemies."

"Who are you, then?" "Did Arthur and Charlotte send you to kill me?"I inquired.

"We actually saved your life," she explained. I closed my eyes to try to gain control of myself, but I couldn't. I opened my eyes and glared at her fiercely.

"No one asked you to save me," I told her as she collided with the wall when I waved my hands. She pushed herself up from the ground. I couldn't help but notice the change in her; she was now staring at me with a frigid gaze. I could feel her energy emanating from her. Before I could react, she began chanting something I couldn't understand, and I felt a force pinning me down on the bed.

As she got closer to me, I felt weak. I felt dizzy and slumped as she chanted. I had no idea what had awoken in me, but I could immediately feel my energy returning. When I opened my eyes, I saw her talking with the other man, her back to me. With a speed I didn't r
