Husband

Nicholas felt uneasy and he quickly left the vicinity. Angelica went back to her room. She threw herself on the bed and covers herself with her blanket.

"Knock" Someone knocked on the door.

"I don't want to talk to anybody. You guys should leave me alone" She yelled to the person at the other end.

"It's me, Your Dad," The king said as he pushed the door open.

"What is it, Dad?" Angelica stood up from her bed with a frown.

"Nothing much dear. I just want to tell you something important" He sat down in her bed urging her to also have a seat.

"Is everything alright?" She sat down.

"My dear.....I was thinking to provide suitors for you tomorrow so that you can choose whom to be your husband" He said to his daughter.

eyes widened. She never saw this coming. Where exactly was he going to see a suitor for her? Everybody is scared of her or perhaps is that guy she saw earlier. Her eyes glinted with happiness but she snapped back to her senses.

"Um Dad, guys are scared of me" She uttered.

"I know where to find guys. They won't be scared of you" He assured her.

"Why suitors of all sudden? You've never mentioned anything about getting married to me before but why now?" She worriedly said.

"I'm getting older dear and I can't assure your safety except if you are with a man who is strong and the man who loves you dearly like me or more than me." He said and he placed his daughter's palm on mine. Confusion was written all over Angelica's face.

"So will you accept my offer? it's a must that you choose a guy tomorrow because once it's your birthday you know how this land becomes destroyed" He said casually. Angelica felt like a dagger was piercing her chest. They talked about her birthday like a cursed thing that everybody is already used to but they didn't know how it hurts to her.

"Okay fine dad," She said in a low-pitched voice. Her dad stood up from her bed and left the room. Angelica threw herself on the bed as thoughts kept on running through her mind. Her father is in debt to the "Goriah Kingdom" He was a king with no power and authority and because he wanted that power, promised the Goriah something special and he couldn't fulfill his promise. Now they are back at him and he is trying his best to keep his family safe especially "Angelica". He wants her to be safe and free from problems and that's why he wanted to get her married as soon as possible.

The sunlight streamed inside the room through the parted curtains. Angelica aroused from bed with her eyes squinted. She dashed into the bathroom and cleaned up. She walked majestically down the stairs to eat her breakfast.

"Good morning princess" The mean guy approached and Angelica was stunned. What the hell was he doing in the palace this early?

"Good morning. What are you doing here so early?" She asked

"Um, I'm here to meet Your Father" He simply said.

"Perhaps, are you one of the suitors my father is bringing to me today?" She asked the man was rendered speechless. Suitor?

"Suitor? Anyways I have something important to discuss with him and not for any marriage business" He said

"You seem nicer today. Yesterday you looked truly like the devil" She blurted out and a smirk appeared on the guy's face.

"I truly am the Devil," He said seriously and Angelica's father cut in

"No jokes today....hmm, Angelica why don't you go and eat while I talk to this young man" He hastily said and Angelica walked out.

"What the hell is wrong with you huh? Why would you tell her you are the Devil?" He reprimanded him and he smirked.

"And what's wrong? I can use her anyway because she seems powerful. I want her in exchange for your debt" He said causing Angelica's father to be dumbstruck.

"Eh....you must be joking. You know how much she means to me" He rejected and Nicholas smiled

"And you also know that you didn't fulfill your promise. You promise to give us your first child and you broke your promise. Now I'm here to make her mine. I want her for my powers and she looks like an obstacle to my purpose on earth. You also want to use her, don't you? You are a badass father" He cursed.

"She is my daughter and I can use her for whatever I want" He remained adamant

"See young fella, You know what I'm capable of doing. You made a deal with the devil. I gave you with my right hand and now I wanna collect it back in double does with my Left hand. I don't want to fucking know if she's your daughter or not. You know I can compel you and make you forget about her and you know I can kill everybody here with just a snap of my finger but I'm just playing nice. If you don't want to see your daughter dead before her birthday, handle her over to me" He said with complete seriousness and the king got scared.

"Demand for any other thing but not my daughter, please" He begged and Nicholas scoffed

"I won't kill her, I promise you that. I just need her blood for something important that I can't expose" He muttered.

" Her blood? You know how powerful it is"

"I know and that's why I need it. Don't worry, after she offers me her blood, I will make her forget about everything including me"

"I don't want anyone to harm my daughter," He said sternly.

"Pfft....but you also need her to gain more power and live long. If Angelica ever finds out about what you plan in using her in the future for...shhhhh, she will hate you forever" He smirked, and The king groined.

"Anyways, whatcha say about this?" He asked and The king glared at him.

"I can't promise you" He simply said.

"Dad" Angelica called out and the king's gaze averted to her.

"What is it? Are you prepared? The suitors are here" He hastily said hoping the daughter didn't hear his conversation with Nicholas.

"Suitors? I've made up my mind and I've chosen someone" She smiled and the king looked confused. Nicholas on the hand seems uninterested in their silly conversation. He used his hands to cup his face.

"Really? And If I must ask, who?" The father asked.

"I want him!!" She pointed to Nicholas who seems to be fighting his internal dilemma.
