"You're being pretty quiet. Are you nervous about the games?" Amari asked me at dinner.

"Very," I replied curtly. I wasn't nervous about the games until Alexus's little confession in the garden. I've been a nervous wreck ever since she announced her intention to enter the games. She wouldn't enter it, would she?

I thought about telling Alexander and Amari several times throughout the day, but every time I came close to opening my mouth, I clamped it shut, worried they'd get the wrong impression.
