2: Suspicion

~Luna Helen~

A week after the incident at the Zulu lake, Rick approached me, reminding me of how much harm the Alpha had done to me but I shrugged him off for the first time, I can’t do anything that would lead me to leave Oden's pack because of my position and the pack’s dominance and grandeur, which are dreaded by other werewolves in another wolf pack.

It was the festive season of our pack, and a few days before the festival, Alpha Marshall ordered the entire pack's werewolf youths to go and set up the venue.

The entire Oden werewolf youth is seen gathered in a coordinated manner.

The Alpha stood to address them and let them know the reason behind their summons.

"The great Oden youths!" The Alpha echoed.

"Great!!" The werewolves chanted.

He hops while addressing the audience: "You all know we're already in our festive season, and the festival will be held in a few days to come," he declared.

"So it's time we arrange the place where the festival will take place" The Alpha declared.

At this moment, my wolf chuckled, which nearly made the audience bask at me. I pretended nothing happened and remained silent. When I was no longer in the limelight, I quietly uttered: "Kyla, are you ok?"

"I'm fine, I was taken aback by the Alpha, this is the time he goes around and makes out with those pretty female omegas," she chuckled.

I was speechless at what my wolf said.

"Hey, Wolf, you have to remain silent until this meeting is over" I shushed her.

The meeting was later disassembled, and I went straight to meet my mate, Alpha Marshall.

"Helen, the Alpha yearns to have all the female omegas in his bed, but this time he would not succeed," Kyla added as if she grudges against the Alpha.

I said nothing but left a heavy sigh.

"Marshall!, Marshall! I called him, who was about to leave for his chamber. I ran pathetically, shoving the youths away who were making it difficult for my movement to go freely. The remark Kyla made kept ringing in my mind. I started thinking about the actual meaning of this festival. "No good reason," I murmured, walking faster as I saw him about to depart to his room. I was going after him to find out the value of the festival.

That was supposed to be a private talk, but I knew he would never listen to me or answer me as he does whenever he finds out I'm suspecting him. That's why I decided to confront him in public because he would give me attention to save himself from public embarrassment.

He stopped, hearing his name, he knew no one called him by his name except me or his mother.

"Helen, what is so serious that you couldn't wait for the youths to dismiss me before yelling my name?" he remarked.

I pretended all was well and forged a deadpan smile to calm his rage down.

"I want to express an opinion about this festival, and I would like to do so in front of the youth. I was raising my hand for an opinion, but you were facing the youths, which made you unable to look at me," I said.

He sighed, "but the youths are already on their way to their various homes," he replied. But I didn't give up.

"Let's send some warriors to get them back," I replied.

He agreed although he does not know what I have to say.

He summoned them to come back, and they did. Who will dare to argue against the Alpha's order? It would be obvious that life was treating the person badly that he decided to end his life.

Alpha became superior and dreaded by other packs after he defeated Alpha Wayne, who was the Alpha of the Moonlight Pack. The Moonlight pack was the strongest pack with well-trained soldiers. The surrender of the Moonlight Pack to the Oden Pack spread all over the state, which caused the Oden Pack to become the most dreaded pack in town.

"I'm sorry for summoning you back even when you might have been about to reach your destinations, something came up after the meeting that my Luna wants to talk about," he stated.

He was about to leave the stage for me to make my speech when I started fretting about what would be his reaction after my statement.

"First of all, I would like to know the importance of the festival and how it started, because I see no value in these females dancing and parading their beauty only to the Alpha," I stated, and multiple voices echoed "Supported!" which strengthened my confidence.

I tried to speak further when I felt a pat on my shoulder, telling me that the Alpha said I should stop speaking and that he wanted to address the audience. I couldn't help but obey the command. I left the stage for him.

"The great Oden youths!" he hailed.

"Great!" the youths echoed.

"You all know that there are some things that are made to be kept secret and others not to be kept secret," he remarked.

"Exactly!" they replied.

"Therefore, I summon you to go back to your destinations, we shall discuss this topic when it's necessary," he concluded.

The youths disassembled, murmuring. I felt I had done the stupidest thing on earth by bringing up the topic without the awareness of the Alpha, and I also felt assaulted by the way he dismissed them, making me a fool.

I secretly walked with him into his room.

"What's it again? Have you sworn not to allow me to have peace in this pack? After you attempted to disgrace us both in the presence of the youths, you are not yet satisfied? he reverberates.

"I...I'm sorry my Alpha, that won't happen next time, and I beg your forgiveness," I apologized.

"Just leave my presence, I'm not happy with you, and being with you arouses my anger," he rebuked.

"This is all your fault, Kyla, had it been that you kept your mouth shut without rooting for what the Alpha wants to do," I murmured.
