Chapter 19. Bella POV

The cave was not as bad as it could have been. Thankful it wasn’t full of bats for a start, the floor was mainly flat rock, smoothed by years of water flow with a jutting ledge forming a narrow bench of sorts. However it was narrow, as the rain started to pelt down, we were in a space no larger than a king-sized bed.

Considering Lucien was the size of a bed on his own, it was going to put us a lot closer than we had expected. I let out a giggle as he had to move around awkwardly, giving up and dropping to his knees to manoeuvre around the space. He shot me a raised eyebrow of disapproval at my mockery, though I think a smile was hiding there too.
