Violetta’s POV

Marry me again, Violetta.

Those words replayed in my mind as I stared at the monster before me, who was hell-bent on marrying me, not because he loved me but for whatever selfish reasons he had.

A monster who, if I eventually decided to marry, would have nothing but evil and heartbreak awaiting me.

So why go through all this trouble when he knew he genuinely didn’t care about me?

“You know what, Nolan, I made a mistake coming here. I was stupid enough to think I could get something out of you; now I know that’s impossible. Do whatever you want, but marrying you is the last thing I’d ever do. Even then, I’d rather fall onto a sword.”

He looked taken aback by my words, and before he could say anything, I pulled the door open and walked out.

Before going to his room, I had expected him to prove difficult, but the level he went to surpassed my imagination.

He was truly shameless.

I walked back into the dungeon, Caleb trailing behind me.

“So how did it go? Did he agree t

Nolan’s POV. I walked into my mother’s chamber, mind heavy on what she would say. She had sent word to the palace to have me come by her palace for a talk. The woman didn’t even bother hiding her disregard for me anymore; she just acted however she wanted. Controlling and overpowering everyone around her. Including me, who’s supposed to be her ruler. “Mother,” I called out as she seemed not to be in sight. “In here.”Oh. She was in her massage parlor. I walked in and noticed the masseuse doing her work. “Uhh, I can wait for you to finish.”“Nonsense, son.” She turned to the maid. “Get my garment.”“Yes, your graciousness.” The maid pulled her garment off the hanger, laying it over her back. She got up and tied the rope around her waist. “Leave us.” She commanded.“Yes, your graciousness.”Then turned to me with a smile. That smile. The one she served when she had preposterous things going through her head. “Come here, my boy.” I sighed, walking closer to her until I stopped

Theodore’s POV. He crouched low, looking at me with a smirk on his face. “So… oh, that thing you said about being unable to hold on anymore, you really meant it, huh?” I stared, confused. “What does that mean, Caleb?”“Oh please don’t pretend. I saw how you guys were all over each other, like your wedding was a few days before she went to meet the Alpha.”“Oh, forget that. Absolutely Nothing like that?”“So you’re telling me the hand touching and she trying to get you out of a mess you fell into with your eyes open is just…normal.”I paused in disbelief. “Thought you said earlier that it was her fault?”He shrugged. “Are you kidding bro? That was just because I wanted to blame someone other than you for this mess. But you got yourself into this all by yourself.”I scoffed. “I thought you said it was because I was fighting for her that I got here.”“Well, did she force you? Hell, she wasn’t even in the arena when it happened. That was all you, bro; you did all that madness yourself.

Nolan’s POV. When I first got Theodore locked up, it was out of sheer anger. But along the line, I realized it could help in my goal. My mother wants a union between this thing and me. And I knew she would want to save him after hearing he was locked up. So it was a perfect opportunity to get her under my thumb.“Please sit,” I said, gesturing to the velvet chair behind her.“Thank you.”“So to what do I owe this visit from Luna Violetta? Oops, forgive me. I played with that name so much, I just have not been able to get it off my mind.”“It’s fine.” She replied like she didn’t even care. “Umm, I know he was wrong, but I was hoping you could tender justice with mercy and maybe just let him out. I mean, he’s still your brother. After all, Nolan.”I leaned back into his seat, smiling wickedly. “Wow, and here I thought you had thought about my offer and came to give feedback.”She scoffed. “Your offer?”“Yes, Violetta, my offer. The one where I promised you that I had changed and wou

Theodore’s POV.I didn’t like the idea of her meeting Nolan for anything because I knew he would want to use this opportunity to make an impossible demand of her.“Caleb, go after her and make sure she doesn’t get close to Nolan,” I said, more like ordered, actually.“I’m sorry, I can’t do that. I want the same thing as her; you should be happy. For the first time, we are on the same page.” He shrugged.I slammed my hand against the door rods. “Caleb, Arlene, are you crazy? You know he’ll demand something ridiculous from her; go stop it.”“Actually, we don’t know that yet. Just calm down, will you? Let’s see how things work out. I’ll brief you later, and I’ll have someone send you some food.” He said before running off.“Shit.” I ran my hand through my hair. “What am I going to do?”Violetta’s POV.I walked on like a boss who knew what she was doing. But in reality, I was scared of my head. All that talk to Theodore was all just a thing of the moment. The unexplainable urge to not wan

Violetta’s POVSeeing them standing together gave me the chills, and I wasn’t sure why.I mean, could Nolan really be right that Theodore was playing with me?“They were brothers after all. Were they in some sort of weird agreement to play me?” I muttered to myself.Aiiii, impossible. It was just very unlikely. Besides, that little reunion didn’t seem all that exciting between them. It seemed hostile, like two people about to enter some sort of brawl.I already hated one and was skeptical and mad about the other. So I walked away without any questions.I’ve been in the room all day, jittery and anxious about him coming back to the room. But that never happened. He must have gone for one of his long walks and maybe found some activity there.Maybe he was too guilty or ashamed about facing me after the stunt he pulled yet again last night. He better be; I couldn’t be the only one shitting myself. Then, the door burst open. I jumped, ready to go hide in the other room away from him, when
