Prepare the contract

~Dorian’s Pov~

I came to the hospital to visit my best friend, Kane, who was a consultant in the hospital. We had some business to talk about, and so when he went for a meeting with the other doctors. I waited in his office.

That was when she walked in, a tall slender figure with long brown hair, that fell on her shoulders, cinnamon brown eyes, and the rest of her face was covered in a mask.

I could tell from her smell that she was a wolf. It made my stomach twitch in disgust. That I could barely look at her.

I should have been more strict with her, I didn’t know why I chose to listen and why my Lycan wolf chose to listen to her.

Why did he choose her?

She was a werewolf.

Her face lit up with a wide smile, and her eyes sparkled with happiness, upon hearing that I agreed to her ordeal.

My assessing gaze swept over her, and how beautiful she looked. I chose to ignore it, it would only be business yet I found myself staring at her until she was out of the office.

I told her I would have the contract prepared, and come to get her. She excitedly exits the room, grinning from ear to ear.

I scoffed watching her as she left and took my head back to the computer before me.

The door opened, it was my Beta Silas. I almost thought it was her, maybe she forgot something and came back to get it.

He strode to the chair that was now empty and took the spot.

“...I saw someone left, what business did you have with her.” He queried with his sharp gaze on me.

“Do you know her? ” My elbow was leaning on the desk now, and was staring at him. He took in a sharp breath and adjusted himself, glancing sideways if probably someone was there to eavesdrop on us.

“She’s the Alpha King’s daughter, Cassandra Miller, I heard her mating ceremony is tomorrow, it’s all over their pack already. A lot of distinguished guest has arrived and Alphas from around packs has already settled in their palace. It seems it’s going to be a big ceremony.”

He sounded in an almost whisper.

“She the Alpha King heir.” He added quickly as if he had almost forgotten it.

“Is that so?” A smile crept up to my lips, and my pupil was probably dancing in excitement.

“You seem pleased, Alpha.” Silas was a bit baffled at the expression I had on.

“Prepare a basic contract for us.”  I flashed him a small mysterious smile.

“What?” His eyes switched with a confused look at my outburst.

“We are getting married and she will move into the pack and as my Luna,” I stated, averting my gaze from his face, his jaw dropped to the ground, and I knew he had a lot to say to me.

‘She would make a good match and we will use her to cover up.’ My wolf Dugan smirked he was having the same thought as I was. He is a very controlling creature and the fact that we were both dangerously protective or sometimes possessive was what made us more aligned with each other.

‘That’s what I thought.’

“But...” He finally found his voice but was mixed with disbelief and shock.

“But what?”

“She’s a werewolf! Her father is Alpha. They are different from us, they are different from Lycans. Have you forgotten what they did to us? Do you think the pack will accept her as Luna? Knowing that she’s a werewolf?” Silas pressed on with a serious expression on his face, I placed a contemplating finger on my jaw.

I leaned closer after listening to all that Silas had said. I know he was right, there wouldn’t be anything between us.

“Remember Silas, the pack needs a Luna,” I replied flatly. “And I haven’t found my mate. I doubt if I would ever find her. Our contract marriage will get rid of the rumors but nobody has to know it’s a contract wedding.”

“Why do I feel like there’s more to it, Alpha?” Silas narrowed his gaze at me, I looked away from him and tapped my lithe fingers on the table saying nothing.

“This isn’t just about the rumor going around the pack that you are impotent, It’s not going to end well, Alpha. She’s the Alpha King’s daughter.”

“I know.” I stared calmly.

That makes it all better.

I rubbed my hand against my chest as it started to feel like I couldn’t breathe. I took off my jacket and kept them on the rack.

Silas let out a deep breath. “Are you okay?”

I nodded while I unbuttoned my shirt.

It felt as if I was suffocating.

I trace my finger along the lines of the scars from my shoulders down to my chest and breathe out heavily.

“I will get you some warm water.” Silas stood up from his chair and returned quickly with a glass of water.

I took them from his hands chugged them down my throat, and gave him back the empty glass.

“Do you still want to marry her after what they did to you? You are a Lycan Dorian. A Lycan.” His voice shook.

I started to button my shirt with a sly smile on my lips.

“So do as I say, it’s an order.” I let out a low growl.

“Yes, Alpha Dorian.” He bared his neck in submission and swallowed up the words he wanted to say. I could see the look on his face, how worried he looked.

I choose to ignore his expression, and continue fixing my shirt and throw my jacket back on.

I just wanted to avoid the conversation, there was no point talking about it now, it happened over a decade ago.  I sunk into a more relaxed position on the chair.

“I will prepare a wedding contract for you and Cassandra.”
