Jenny is already done with dinner by the time we get home and she even set the table for one extra. She assaults Devi with a huge hug the moment we walk through.

“Don’t worry. It’s normal. Jenny is a hugger.”, I explain to Devi with more fondness in my voice than I even expected. These humans are growing on me much more than I expected.

At dinner, Devi scarfs down the servings of food that she is given and I realize she was probably earning way less money than she was letting on.

IrinaThe months went by in a blur of mean coworkers, spilled coffee orders and piles of dry-cleaning.I had somehow convinced Daniel to reduce my paycheck which led to significant surprise in the office. After that, I had managed to get a few pleasant greetings from colleagues and superiors but none close enough to actually call a friend.Devi had decided to try and take up a job too but it turns out, not being able to speak English could be a huge barrier in the clerical department.Daniel let her stay in his home for free until I delivered my babies so I had no idea why she even wanted a job in the first place. One morning, on arriving at the office, I walked into Ramona having trouble finding one of her files. Since I was less busy, I decided to help her out.“You see the this your files are too messy. I can help you arrangeme then in order of dates and alphabetically too." I offerRamona had been fairly cordial with me despite her avoiding talking to me so I didn't mind doing her

King SebastianThe second trial was a success so to speak. At least no one got killed. The game was rather simple. I had sent the contestants into a maze, each from a different starting point and all to the same destination. The first one to get to the center would have to solve a riddle. If you couldn’t solve it, you would have to wait three minutes and then a different riddle would be given to you to solve. If another opponent comes in and solves their riddle before you, that person would be declared the winner. None of the riddles were the same for any opponent and none of the riddles were repeated. If you failed to solve the riddle three times in a row, you will be taken back to the beginning of the maze from a completely different starting point. It was such a chore getting five hundred riddled written down by wise elder wolves so it was quite worth it to see that most of the contestants couldn’t solve them. None of the contestants got the riddles right on the first three tries.

IrinaIt turns out I’m actually really good at fetching coffees. As well as transferring files from the offices they were, to where they needed to be. I was basically an errand girl but I had absolutely no problem with that.I just wish he would give me harder jobs to complete because the caliber of my work did not in any way match my paycheck. I was being grossly over payed for doing almost nothing most of the time and I just felt like Daniel was wasting his money. One thing Daniel was right about though was the gossip. The rumors were so insidious and scandalous that I never had a dull day at work. Yesterday, someone said that Jeff, one of the accountants was going at it with an old cleaning lady in the janitor’s closet. The woman was allegedly twelve years older than him.Today’s gossip topic is Sarah, the callous receptionist that had directed me to the orientation hall on my first day of work. She was supposedly pregnant and her boyfriend had left her for the girl he was cheating

Irina The next day, Daniel led me to the HR room for my interview and screening for the job. I was so nervous but Daniel said that the interview was just for the purpose of professionalism and that I already got the job anyways. “Why do you think we should give you this job, Mrs. Irina.”, the interviewer asked. They were the ones looking for employees. The questions they asked made no sense sometimes but Daniel had already warned me about that.“I am very qualified for the position.”, I reply as Daniel and I had practiced last night. They nodded and ticked a box before I was even done speaking. It was like they weren’t even listening to me.“Well Mrs. Irina, you managed to flunk the majority of this interview.”, the man behind the table said to me.My heart sank with dread. I knew it wouldn’t go well. I was barely able to speak good English. How was I supposed to get a professional job at a large firm like Daniel’s?“But…”, the interviewer cuts in.“I was given direct orders from t

Irina Doctor Grey wasn’t so pleased that we had already found a new doctor. In his words, he was so close to making a “scientific breakthrough that would change the world”. I didn’t like being used as his lab rat anytime he came for routine checkups so I didn’t really mind parting ways with him.Devi was a much better substitute and in a few days after we arrived, my belly started growing at a healthy rate and I hadn’t had a single painful seizure since then. Devi has also taken a liking to Daniel’s youngest daughter but she seems to know the rules of the human realm more than I did when I first got here because she didn’t try to buy her like I did.Devi says that I won’t have to visit the werewolf realm again until a few days to my due date which means I have three months to find my feet here and get out of Daniel’s hair. A few weeks ago, I was able to get a job at a café as a waitress. The job wasn’t so hard but it wasn’t paying much either so I had to get another night job in a cl

King Sebastian. “What did you just say?”, I turn around. My voice eerily calm. “Nothing, your majesty.”, she squeaks. “No. Do not lie to your king, girl. What. Did. You. Say?” My voice is still steady. Calm. I can see her trembling. Debating whether to lie to me or say the truth. Each one was equally as dangerous either way. My wolf is already bursting at the edges and my control is slipping. I only realize how terrifying I look when a servant walks by the halls and crumples to the floor in fear. He stands up and scampers off just in time for me to avert my gaze back to the breeder. There are tears in her eyes and petrified is not a strong enough word to describe how scared she looks at the moment. I take in a deep breath and put a leash on my wolf. The breeder falls to her knees in tears and quietly sobs into her palm. “I’m sorry… you… your majesty.” She hiccoughs. “I just…I’m trying so hard and all you can think of is her.” She sobs some more. I don’t know whether I’m

IrinaWho touched my mate?" he growls.I freeze entirely. I stare at the towering man in front of me, my heart thumping so hard I can feel it in my throat. "Your mate? No. That is impossible. I do not feel anything.""You are an unshifted omega, Irina," he snaps. His blue eyes flash with a dangerou

Irina"You look absolutely pathetic, Irina."The voice drips with venom. I slowly turn away from the cracked mirror, my heart sinking into my stomach. Irina The carriage jerked to a violent halt. My bones ached from the freezing, terrifying journey. The heavy iron doors swung open."Get out," the guard barked.I stumbled onto the frozen dirt. The Northern Keep loomed above me in the dark. It was exactly like the nightmare stories. Everyone knew

IrinaMy body ached. The heavy silk sheets smelled of dark cedar and rain, wrapping around me like a cruel reminder of the night before. I pulled the blanket up to my chest. The mating mark on my neck throbbed with a dull, constant heat.Xander stood by the window. He was already dressed in a crisp
