CHAPTER 4

Lucinda’s POV

I woke up alone in bed A faint, indistinct scent of Darcus lingered in the air, bringing the scenes of last night back to my mind. I had a wonderful night, to say the least, my wolf let out a contented howl, though my heart still ached because of my broken mate bond

I had seen Darcus, the Lycan king countless times in the news and magazines. I always thought he was very huge and muscular but they didn't compare to how amazing he looked yesterday.

Darn! What are all these thoughts? I never knew I could think like this. I never expected a one-night stand but to be honest with myself, I don't regret it.

The moment I thought this was a betrayal of Alpha Killian, a sense of vengeful pleasure welled up in my heart. even if it was just self - deceptive.

I'm sure I can let go of Killian now but I hope and pray to the moon goddess I never cross paths with him again. And I'm sure I won't meet King Darcus again either.

Back to reality, I'm currently in a whore house and I need to get out of here and now that my head's clear. I will never let anyone hurt me again

I left the room and kept walking until I walked into the dining hall where a group of werewolves were gathered, counting their earnings for the night.

I smiled at them, it's time to get my compensation.

“Good morning, boys.” I flicked my hair back and sat down with them.

“Woah!” They all roared once I got their attention. “Our star of the night! You've awakened. How was your beauty sleep?” The werewolf counting all the money, who also had a sleazy smirk on his face asked.

I shrugged, “It was okay, had a bit of fun.” they all laughed but they all quieted down once I said my next words… “But y'all not going to be able to have fun soon.”

“Hey! Just because you fuck the Lycan king doesn't mean you're now the Queen, dumb bitch. You're just an Omega, at best you'll only be for his amusement but you're not special.” The guy yelled at me.

I sighed, “I'm sure you're the owner or at least the manager of this whore house so you should have a folder with all the whores in your position. Bring it and check to see if I'm in there because I'm not.”

“Shut your trap! I know how many whores I have and yesterday, I didn't have any extra.”

“You better check otherwise your business will close down or worse, you'll all die.”

“And who do you think you are to threaten us like that!” One of the guys beside him rose and yelled at me, trying to intimidate me but I behaved nonchalantly. “You're just an omega!”

“Yes but do you know who my mate is?” I asked which got everyone silent.

“I'm sure you all noticed the famous Mercedes at that run-down motel. Such a luxurious car should never be in such a place so I'm sure you didn't miss it or rather, because you did notice it, that's why you took the van to the back, I'm I right?”

“What are you getting at here?” the manager sneered.

“That I'm the mate of the Alpha of this pack, Alpha Killian. I'm sure you all have read the news that he discovered his mate to be an Omega. I am that Omega.” I announced confidently. “We came to that motel to have some fun and he was at the front waiting for me before you all kidnapped me. He must be searching for me by now which means, if he discovers what happened here last night, you're all in trouble.”

“Bullshit! Why would Alpha Killian care about his omega mate?”

“And what proof do you have that you're indeed his mate?” the questions kept coming and I just shrugged,

“I can't prove that since my face isn't on the internet but you can find out that I shouldn't be here if you check the folder with all your whores information in it. Plus I'm sure you can all tell that two male wolf scents are on me instead.” I urged him to check and this time he went along with others for the folder to be brought to him.

After checking three times, he was finally convinced that I wasn't one of his property, “So what do you want now?” He asked, his voice a little lower and not as intimidating.

“For you to buy my silence,” I responded immediately. “I want thirty (30) percent of the earnings last night to ensure my silence of what happened when I meet Alpha Killian again otherwise…”

“You're the mate of the Alpha, he's rich so why should you care about our money?” One of the guys there questioned angrily.

I laughed at him, “He's rich but that doesn't mean I should earn money when I can especially when I worked hard for it. I'm sure most of the money here right now is from the tips they gave to me. It's idiotic for you to think I'll forgive you without anything after what you put me through last night. Killing me is out of the question since this is the last place I've been and he immediately knows the mastermind and kills all of you well.” I got up and slammed my palms on the table, “So what will it be? The price is non negotiable.” I smirked at him, from the look on his face, I knew I got him cornered.

Last night will be the last time I do anything foolish, thinking with my heart instead of my brain like I usually do.

Reader's POV. The hall erupted in cheers as Marcus, no longer able to wait, pulled Maddie into a fierce kiss. Laughter broke through the cheers when Maddie nearly stumbled in her excitement, but Marcus held her steady, lifting her effortlessly into his arms for a moment before setting her back down. Then Maddie turned toward the crowd. Her hands trembled as she pressed them to her stomach, but she lifted her chin bravely. “And…there is more,” she said, her voice sounding sure. “I carry life, a child. Marcus’s child. The first of the next generation of this pack.” Gasps, then roars of joy filled the hall. Marcus froze for a single heartbeat, then turned to her with eyes wide, as his breath was caught in his throat. “You… you mean…” he stammered. She nodded, tears welling. “Yes. I’m pregnant.” For once, Marcus lost his composure. With a broken laugh, Marcus swept her into his arms again, spinning her around as the pack’s cheer shook the walls. His voice crack

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 211

Reader's POV. Two weeks later. The throne hall had been rebuilt hastily. Survivors gathered, filling the air with murmurs. Some wore bandages, others bore scars. Darcus stood at the throne, as Marcus stood beside him. Lucinda entered quietly with Maddie and the twins trailing behind her. When Darcus raised a hand, the murmurs died. His voice carried across the hall. It was deep and commanding. “My people. My warriors. My family.” He paused, letting the words sink into every ear. “You have bled. You have lost. Yet still, you stand. And as long as we stand together, no force in this world can break us.” Cheers rose, echoing against the stone walls. Marcus stepped forward. “We buried our dead with honor. We will heal our wounded with care. From this day on, we rebuild stronger, wiser and most importantly, united.” Lucinda’s chest tightened as she watched them speak. Darcus lifted his chin, his eyes blazing with authority. “But we will not only heal. We will

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 210

Lucinda’s POV. As I made sure Vivian and Seth were safe in the panic room that was under the pack house, I heard the horn. The sound was so loud and for a moment, I thought the pack house was going to collapse. It only meant one thing. War had come. It was a way to inform us of the way soon, to prepare. I quickly kissed my kids and went out of the panic room to meet the pack. From the side, I could see them; the forgotten Lycan clan. They were armored in black steel, as their banners were streaked with red. Behind them, witches chanted, hands raised high, their voices carrying dark power that made the air itself shake. The earth trembled beneath their march. “Positions!” Darcus’s roar rang out like thunder. He stood at the front of the warriors, sword raised, his aura glowing with the pure force of an Alpha King. His presence was fire and command joined together. I tightened my cloak and turned to the omegas. Dozens of frightened faces looked at me, hands tr

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 209

Lucinda’s POV. The next day. The morning after the festival felt so heavy. It was not bright at all. Though the banners still hung across the hall and the scent of roasted meat lingered in the air, everywhere felt so weird once again. There were whispers that echoed through the corridors about Vivian being dangerous and not belonging to the pack. That annoyed me, and I wanted to shut them up but for what reason? It wouldn't change the thought that they had in their heads. I got out of bed, and went out to the kids' room to check on them. They were still sleeping. I laid beside Vivian on her bed, and just inhaled her scent and watched her sleep. As she slept, she looked so small and... peaceful. I smiled and patted her head until my eyes slowly went shut. Minutes later. Vivian hadn’t stirred when I rose. She laid curled on her bed. Still, her breathing was still soft and even. I touched her forehead, kissed her hair, and stepped from their room with a weight

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 208

Lucinda’s POV. The next day. The morning of the festival felt different. When I woke up, sunlight spilled from the curtains, which felt warm on my skin. It made me smile a little. For once, there wasn’t a sharp edge to the air. The only sounds I could hear were the sounds of drums echoing faintly from the training yard, the maids decorating the grounds with banners, and the laughter of children chasing one another outside. I sighed and slowly got off the bed. Things would make sense soon, I know it. I didn't even expect that we would be having the festival of unity anytime soon with everything that was going on in the pack. It had been Darcus’s idea. In truth, I knew why he wanted it. The pack was falling apart. The festival wasn’t just a celebration. It was a reminder that we were still here, together. It all made sense to me. The maids were so busy, so I decided to get ready by myself. I wasn't surprised to see that Darcus had left my side on the bed early. H

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 207

. Reader's POV. After the last council meeting, all of us started looking out for Killian, waiting for his attack. Lucinda didn't know why but she could feel that he was coming really soon. Later that day, Darcus decided to go round and check the patrols he sent out at every part surrounding the pack house, in the woods. He stood at the edge of the tree line while the last of the patrol checked their straps and tightened their cloaks. Darcus didn't know why but he did not like the feel of the night. He felt like something was wrong with the air. “Keep your eyes open,” he told them. His voice was low. “No fires. No singsong. Watch the ground.” Marcus fell in behind him on his left. Maddie was on his right. Both were quiet, the way soldiers are when they know a fight may come. They all moved together, waiting for whatever laid ahead. They walked for a long time. The forest closed around them. Each step was a small crack of twig. Darcus’s senses were all turned
