I pushed myself up from the wooden floor. My legs felt weak, but I forced myself to walk over to the heavy oak wardrobe in the corner of the room. I pulled the doors open.

I grabbed a thick leather travel bag from the bottom shelf. I dragged it over to the bed and threw it onto the mattress. I unzipped it with a loud, aggressive pull.

I walked back to the wardrobe and started grabbing clothes.

I did not care what I was grabbing. I pulled down thick wool shirts, heavy dark trousers, and thick co

  • The Lycan King’s Hidden Male Omega: MM Romance   "Stop lying to me,"

[POV: Elian]I shoved the heavy iron doors open and stepped out onto the high stone battlements. The Northern wind hit my face like a physical strike. The cold sliced right through my thick winter cloak. The freezing temperature bit into my cheeks and numbed my nose instantly.I walked to the edge of the stone wall and looked down. The massive main courtyard was completely empty. The heavy snow blanketed the cobblestones. The golden carriages from the South were gone. Silas and Corinne were nowhere in sight.I stared at the empty courtyard for a moment. A part of my brain knew I should wonder where they went. I should wonder if Cillian ordered his guards to lock them in guest quarters or if they just gave up and rode back through the gates.I did not care.I honestly felt absolutely nothing about their absence. I could not bring myself to worry about the strangers from the South. My mind was completely consumed by the heavy scent of ash in my bedroom and the realization that my Warlor

I pulled down thick wool shirts, heavy dark trousers, and thick cotton socks. I carried the pile of clothes over to the bed and started folding them.I folded a dark shirt. I pressed my hands hard against the fabric, smoothing out the wrinkles with violent, sharp movements. I shoved the shirt into the bottom of the leather bag.I grabbed a pair of trousers. I folded them tightly and shoved them in next to the shirt. The physical action helped. It gave my hands something to do. It gave me a tiny piece of control in a situation that felt completely out of my gra

I pushed the heavy wooden doors open and ran.My boots hit the stone floor in a rapid, frantic rhythm. I kept my head down and moved as fast as my shaking legs would allow. My chest heaved with tight, shallow breaths. The massive stone walls of the Stronghold blurred together. The torches mounted on the pillars looked like streaks of bright orange fire. I just needed to get away from the Great Hall. I needed to get away from the crushing weight of Silas’s tears and Cillian.I reached the heavy oak door of our private chambers. I grabbed the iron handle, shoved the door open, and practically fell inside.I slammed the door shut behind me. I grabbed the heavy iron lock and slammed it into place. The loud click echoed in the quiet room.I leaned my back against the thick wood and slid down to the floor. My knees hit my chest. I wrapped my arms around my legs and buried my face in my knees.I tried to pull air into my lungs. My throat felt incredibly tight. This room was supposed to be my

I took a stumbling step backward. My hands flew up to cover my mouth. His chest and stomach were completely ruined. Thick, brutal, overlapping scars covered every inch of his skin. Jagged white lines and deep, healed purple gouges crossed his ribs in every direction. Vicious claw marks raked across his stomach, and heavy whip lashes wrapped around his sides. They were fighting scars. They looked exactly like the horrific scars covering my own back."The mercenaries quit when the gold burned," Silas cried. Tears fell freely down his face, dropping onto his scarred chest. "The search parties stopped immediately. I had no wealth left to pay them. I had nothing to offer them. So I went to the underground fighting pits."A heavy, suffocating silence fell over the Great Hall. The guards holding the swords stopped breathing."I fought for years," Silas screamed. He gestured wildly to his ruined skin. His voice echoed off the high ceiling, filled with years of agony. "I let massive, feral Alp

[POV: Elian]The Alpha’s hand froze in mid-air.Silas stared at Cillian. The pure joy on his face died instantly. The color drained from his skin, leaving him pale. The profound relief in his eyes twisted into violent, absolute hatred as he recognized the Warlord standing right behind me.Silas forced his eyes back to my face. He took a deep, shaky breath, burying his anger to look at me."We are your family," Silas said, his voice dropping into a rough, gentle whisper. He placed his hand over Corinne’s shaking shoulders. "She is your mother. And I am your father."Corinne let out a broken sob. She reached out and tried to grab my wrist.I flinched and snatched my arm back. My shoulder hit the hard wood of Cillian's throne."Don't touch me," I warned her. My chest heaved. I stared at them, my heart pounding with pure panic and heavy doubt. "You expect me to just believe that? People do not just appear out of nowhere after nineteen years. You are strangers."Corinne cried harder, hidin

Silas was still talking, his voice pitching higher as he rushed through a sentence about lumber taxes.Corinne completely tuned him out. She dropped her expensive leather bag. It hit the hard stone floor with a loud slap. She did not even flinch. She took a step forward, moving blindly toward the dais. The two Lycan guards standing at the bottom of the steps immediately crossed their heavy iron spears, blocking her path."Halt," one of the guards barked.Corinne did not stop. She walked right into the crossed spears. The heavy iron blades pressed hard against the expensive fabric of her coat. She did not look down at the weapons. She just kept her eyes glued to my face. She took a deep, slow breath through her nose. She closed her eyes, pulling the cold air deep into her lungs. When she opened her eyes again, tears were already spilling over her eyelashes. They ran fast down her pale cheeks.Silas stopped talking mid-sentence.He did not look confused. He did not turn to ask his wife
