Meet our newest villain. He's going to cause quite a lot of trouble and I can't wait for you all to know him for the pure evil that he is!
"Hello?" Cinnia said into her phone. Normally, she wasn't one to pick up calls from anonymous numbers but inexplicably, she found herself doing so. As if the call was a magnet, drawing her to tap the answer button without a thought. There was heavy breathing on the other end. One that almost seemed too familiar. The exact breathing pattern of the corrupt man from her vision, dream, or whatever it was. Cinnia bit her lip and paused the preparation of the omelet she was making around six a.m. that morning. She scratched the inside of her palm as she awaited a response. Yet, there was nothing. So, Cinnia braced herself to speak once more. "He-hello?" She choked out. She shut her eyes, hating the way her voice cracked. That was a weakness she didn't want the caller to notice. "Good morning. I hope your meal turns out great," The caller said. Cinnia's eyes darted from side to side in fear. She gulped, turned off the stove, and began slowly backing to the stairs. Denzel was upstair
Cinnia drummed a beat on the oak table in front of her as she sat in the library of the packhouse waiting for Denzel to return with the books he had spoken of earlier. She was lost in thoughts that were scattered in different directions but all related to a particular name. Sebastian. Sebastian. Sebastian. His name rang out in her head repeatedly and she caught herself drumming even more harshly on the table till her fingertips started to hurt. She flattened them and crossed one leg over the other. Cinnia was an avid reader. At least, when she wasn't moving from place to place like a nomad during her years on the run, she derived peace in many hobbies including burying her nose in the pages of both fiction and non-fiction though she much preferred the beauty of fiction. However, she had never come across the word 'Vampire' even in the many paranormal romance novels she had read. In the few horror books she had come across, they only spoke of monsters, creatures that go bump in the n
"Are we ever going to go to New Orleans without being on a mission? When I put it on my bucket list, I didn't mean for it to be this way," Cinnia complained on their flight. She was still a bit sleepy since Denzel had made her wake up right before dawn to head to the airport. They were traveling alone even though Mya and Kai had wanted to tag along for extra protection but Denzel had instructed them not to because they were merely going for research purposes, not a war or a mission that required stealth or an army. So, Maverick, along with Mya and Kai, was to manage the pack affairs and businesses till they returned. A piece of information that Denzel still hadn't confirmed yet. "I didn't mean for it to be like this either." Denzel reached over and caressed her knee. "Trust me, there's nothing I want more than to fulfill your every wish but circumstances have made things this way." Cinnia let out a deep sigh. "I'm sorry. I've been so irritated with this whole thing. I'm exhausted
"Wake up, Princess." Cinnia ignored the sweet voice that beckoned at her to leave the warm embrace of sleep. She rolled from her back to her side and carried on sleeping. Abruptly, the warmth she was cocooned in was torn from her body. She whimpered at the loss and her eyes finally flew open to meet Denzel's brilliant green ones. "Denzel, I love you, but please, you cannot wake me up so early in the morning. I'm sleeping for two remember?" Cinnia pouted. "It's already noon. From your wonderful speech last night, I should be the one still asleep not you. Especially since you slumbered through most of yesterday." Denzel shook his head at her disapprovingly but a smile still played on his lips. Cinnia's lips formed an 'O'. He was right. She had given him a whole lecture and still woke up later than him despite having more rest. She vaguely remembered reading a book on her phone till around three in the morning but didn't recall falling asleep because she had promised herself tha
Sebastian paced around Cinnia's unconscious body. His face was a stone-cold impassive mask that gave nothing away to the glee and expectations that danced through his mind in a mad rhythm. To him, Cinnia was a beauty. A rare picture of perfection but that wasn't what concerned him. What had his attention was the blood rushing within her veins. The blood contained not one but two contrasting elements. The world’s first hybrid. The flames from the fireplace reflected in his glowing red eyes, igniting the danger that lurked beneath them. His hungry gaze ran across Cinnia's face, to her chest, and finally, her protruding belly. His sclera slightly darkened as he inhaled the scent of Cinnia's perfume and the baby powder she had dabbed on earlier; he bared his fangs and placed his cold hands against Cinnia's tee. Unsatisfied, he lifted the tee and rolled it under her breasts. Sebastian's breath hitched once his hands came in contact with Cinnia's skin. He listened and soon, the wonde
"Maverick Montgomery! Tell these brutes you call guards to let me in!" Sophie yelled from the gates of the Nightfall pack house. She rattled the heavy iron bars with all of her strength but they didn't budge. "Agh!" She cried out in frustration, slamming both palms against the smooth iron while the two guards watched her with zero expression. She narrowed her eyes at them. "You both are enjoying this, right?" When they didn't respond, she rolled her eyes and resumed her banging. "Hey! Maverick! I know your hearing is perfect! Come out. It's important, please." She tried once again. Minutes later when Maverick failed to show up, she turned around and was about to leave to think of a different way to alert the wolves about her vision, when Maverick called out her name. "Sophie." She stopped in her tracks. The energy she once had in rattling the gates evaporated from her body simply by the sound of his voice. She felt her knees go weak as she remembered the last night they spent t
Cinnia hummed a tune from one of her favorite songs as she knocked her head against the chair she was tethered to. With her magic cut off and her inability to free herself from the heavy chains, there wasn't anything else that she could do to escape from captivity. While she murmured the lyrics of the song, she recalled the prophecies from the fae and Sophie. 'Many would lust after her blood', they said. That was her ongoing predicament and Cinnia felt her chest constrict with hate for prophecy. Cinnia tapped the sole of her shoe against the concrete floor, to the rhythm of the music in her head. Just then, her stomach rumbled loudly causing her to let out a resentful chuckle. A tear slipped from her eyes and rolled down her cheek while she continued banging her head against the chair. Abruptly, the door was opened and Cinnia turned her head slightly to the side to see who had decided to finally grace her with their presence. The second her brown eyes clashed with the striking red
"What is it?" Mya who was seated opposite him, laid her warm palm on the crook of his elbow. "You've only been asleep for ten minutes. Did you have a dream already?" "Ten minutes? Felt much shorter than that. Anyway, no... It wasn't a dream. More like..." "You could hear the sound of her voice like she was right beside you?" Mya completed. Denzel released a breath that did nothing to ease the burden that weighed heavily on his shoulders. "Yes." "I understand, Alpha. It was the same way when Brandon was kidnapped. Hell, I heard his voice everywhere. It didn't even matter if I was asleep or awake. He was always there." Mya squeezed Denzel's elbow gently. "I got him back with your help. Now, with my help, with everyone's help, we're going to get our Luna back. The entire werewolf clan will have their queen back in one piece. Now, sleep. You look like shit. Unless you want Cinnia to be repulsed when she sees you," She teased. Denzel's lips perked up into a small smile at her jab.
