Alicia's POV

“You are right, Celine.” James's frown deepened upon hearing Damon’s name as James spoke and manipulated his thoughts.

“Now that I think about it. Having her electrocuted is nothing and too boring.” He grinned.

We should change to something more interesting to help her recover.” James glared at me as he spoke with a smirk on his face.

“If she's going to recover fast, we need something extreme.” His eyes flickered with excitement, then he turned towards the guards.

“Release five mad wolves into the basement.”, James ordered the guards.

“Yes, Alpha James.” They bowed their heads and left.

“Come, Celine. Let's get out of here.” James took her hand and stepped out of the basement, leaving me all alone.

I watched him gesture an order with his hand, and immediately, the glass door that towered over me was slid open.

Two guards marched towards me and released me from the chair. I staggered, trying to find my bearings as I stood.

Everyone left me alone, and before I could process what was happening. I heard growls and howls from the wolves.

Five mad wolves were released in their wolf form, and they looked like beasts. My eyes widened in fear as they moved closer to me slowly.

“No… No!!” I screamed and looked up at William with pleading eyes.

“James, please let me out of here. Let me go, please…” Tears gushed out of my eyes, but James paid me no attention.

The wolves gnashed their fangs at me, and sweat dripped down my body. I staggered back weakly and hit my back against the cold wall.

Finally, they launched at once with force, and their claws clashed against my face, spilling blood.

“Aaahhh!!” I screamed, calling for help, but no one answered me. Instead, they watched with excitement and even laughed at me.

I tried to move my legs so I could run, but I was outnumbered. One of the wolves grabbed me violently and flashed his paws at me.

“No! No!!” I cried as I felt his sharp fangs buried into my skin. He bit off a skin in my arm, and blood gushed, staining the floor red.

Fear spiralled through me, and my mind went blank for a moment. I knew I would be dead in a few more minutes if I didn't do anything.

Damon…

My mind drifted towards him with tears, but he was nowhere to be found. At this point, I only have myself.

Suddenly, I remembered the pregnancy test I had taken this morning. I had concluded I wasn't going to tell James about it. If he didn't know, I could leave him and raise this child alone.

But now, I don't think I can keep it a secret any longer.

“James!” I yelled into the air.

“I'm pregnant, James! I'm carrying your child!” I revealed breathing heavily as I curled up in a corner, bleeding, trying to protect myself from any more attacks from the wolves.

For a long time, James had always wanted a child. That was why I was overjoyed when I got pregnant the last time before the war broke out, but unfortunately, I had a miscarriage.

James froze, and his face twisted in shock as soon as my words got into his ears. He stepped forward and looked down at me.

“Stop!” He ordered the wolves, and they halted immediately.

“Take them away and let Alicia out of the basement.” His eyes softened toward me, and I felt relief wash through me.

The mad wolves were taken back, and just when the guards were about to lead me out, Celine stepped forward with her fist clenched tightly.

“Did you see my pregnancy test stick? I never expected that she would lie about being pregnant.” Celine sneered, and James frowned again.

“James and I are together every day. Isn't it normal for me to be pregnant? If you were pregnant, why didn't you say something earlier?” Celine scoffed.

That's right.

The Alpha and Celine are inseparable, so I wouldn't doubt that she's pregnant with the Alpha's child.

This is a good thing. We finally got an heir after so long.

The former Luna has been unable to give us any. She has always been a figurehead who is good at nothing.

Celine’s lips spread into a wide smile, hearing everyone speak in her favour. I clamped my fingers against my torn dress, not knowing how to defend myself.

She has everyone wrapped around her fingers. If only I had shown James the pregnancy stick as soon as I found out.

“When was the last time he spent the night with you? He no longer even fancies you. How can you lie about something so grave? You really deserve to be punished.” Celine spat.

“How insolent of you. Are you trying to toy with me?” James raised a brow. Celine held his arm as they both looked down at me.

“No, that's not it. I can explain. I wanted to tell you after….” I tried to speak, but Celine cut me off.

“Enough of the lies, Alicia. Just accept that you are wrong. What lies are you trying to come up with now?” She yelled at me.

“James please hear me out, I'm really carrying our child. You must spare me for our child's sake, please.” I pleaded with him.

“You always order James around like this, and you don't care about his dignity at all.” She added, and James groaned.

“She's lying to trap you, James. Don't let her fool you again.” Celine whispers into William's ear.

“You disgust me, Alicia. You will say and do anything just to get attention.” He shook his head and snapped his fingers.

“Let the wolves in. They should finish what they started.” James's deep voice sent chills down my spine, and I shook my head.

The mad wolves were released once again, and Celine smirked in satisfaction. She crossed her hand over her chest and watched as the wolves lunged forward and pounced on me once again.

One of the wolves launched towards me and dug his fangs into my abdomen.

“Aaahh!” Excruciating pain spiralled through me, and I screamed in pain. Blood gushed down from between my legs.

I held my abdomen and collapsed on the floor.

“I'm sorry, my baby,” I whispered, and a painful lone tear escaped my eye.

“Alpha!” Gamma Ben ran forward.

“Alicia might truly be pregnant! We just heard that there's one less heartbeat here, but no one has left.” Ben spoke, panting heavily.

The basement was immediately filled with murmurs and whispers with everyone exchanging guilty looks and drawing back.

Their words filled my ears in a daze, but I just lay there gasping for breath.

“What! No!” James panicked and quickly jumped into the basement.

“Take the wolves away, and get the pack doctor here now!” James demanded, and the guards immediately got to work.

“Alicia!” William whispered my name and rushed towards me.

“Alpha James, don't go. She's only pretending to get your attention. Don't fall for it, please.” Celine dragged his hand, trying to stop him, but she shoved him away.

“Let me go!” He gritted his teeth at her and knelt before me. He carried me in his arms and gently caressed my face.

“Alicia, please forgive me. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I just…” James stammered with his eyes stung with tears.

“Where's the fucking doctor!” He yelled.

“Stay with me, Alicia. Please forgive me. I promise I will make up for everything. You will be Luna again.” He promised and held me tighter.

My vision blurred with tears and I felt suffocated. Slowly the world faded away and everything began to disappear.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise and the walls came crashing down with heavy smoke.

The atmosphere in the room suddenly dropped and everywhere turned icy and dark.

A dangerous aura loomed and heavy footsteps approached us.

“Aaahh!” I heard screams of terror coming from the guards and werewolves gathered outside the basement.

“Alicia!” I heard my name thundering through the basement shaking the ground beneath us.

Damon….

It was his voice, he finally came to save me. I tried to stay awake, but I was too weak.

“Lycan King Damon!” Both James and Celine exclaimed in shock with fear written on their faces.
