Damon’s POV

“Your majesty! The council of elders has sent a message for the red clan to proceed with the rite preparations with your permission.” Chris, one of the royal messengers, recited to my hearing.

A sudden wave of electricity jolted through me. My chest tightened, and my breath seized.

“Your majesty?” Chris sounded concerned.

She's in pain

My wolf Lucas growled within me, and my brows furrowed together. Before I could respond, my ringing phone cut through my thoughts.

“Your majesty!” One of the servants handed the phone over to me, and I reluctantly connected the call.

“Damon!” That familiar voice sent chills down my spine, and I froze on the spot. Only this time, it wasn't the usual sweet tone I always craved hearing.

Muffled sobs and painful groaning trembled through the speaker.

“Alicia…” I shot up to my feet.

“Damon..” Her voice trailed, and the call went dead.

“Alicia! Alicia!!” I yelled into the phone with a grunt. My hand dropped, and I clenched my fist tightly against the phone.

My hot breath hovered over the room with my leg angrily tapping the floor.

“She's in danger, I can feel it.” I groaned.

“I must save her..” I growled.

“Meet me with fifty royal guards at the King's quarters.” I mindlinked Royal Beta Collin and stormed out of my quarters in a breeze.

An hour later, we arrived at the BloodMoon pack. The air was unusually misty at this time.

I shut my eyes and inhaled sharply. There it was, her intoxicating scent filling every inch of me.

“This way!” I ordered.

The sound of loud cheering caught my attention and we followed the trail down to the dungeon.

“We can't have her infect the rest of us with her madness.” The giggle from one of the pack members brought me to a halt.

“The Alpha said she has totally gone mad. It's only right she's being punished.”

“The Luna deserves it.”

“She's no longer Luna.” One of them revealed and a growl escaped my throat.

With a giant stride, I invaded the basement where the members of the BloodMoon pack had gathered.

All eyes turned towards me as I seeped through the crowd alongside the royal Beta Collin and the royal guards I had brought with me.

I plunged forward, and Alicia's frail figure drenched in blood, with Alpha James's arms wrapped around her came to view.

“Alicia!” My voice thundered through the basement and my royal guards alongside Beta Collin unsheathed their swords.

The ground quivered beneath us and the walls came crashing down.

It's the Lycan King Damon

It's his majesty!

He's here?

But I thought….

Whispers of fear filled the basement as I brushed through the crowd to get to Alicia The aura emanating from my body turned cold and my eyes darkened.

The lights in the basement flickered and everyone had their faces on the ground.

“Lycan King Damon!” Alpha James's voice flew across the basement filling my ears and body with trembling anger.

He rose from the ground shaking with his head bowed. I snatched Alicia from his hands, bringing her face to my chest.

Her breath was faint, her body dripping blood. Her wolf Anaya was weak and broken, and my eyes softened with tears at how battered she looked.

I turned around and strode over to the Royal guards who were with me.

“Revive her,” I ordered and handed Alicia over to one of the Royal guards.

Some of them are trained medics who travel with me everywhere because of situations like this.

“Yes, your majesty!” They echoed and rushed Alicia outside the basement.

My cold gaze shifted to Alpha James who stood by the corner, with Beta Gerald and Gamma Ben standing behind him with their heads bowed.

I sensed the presence of an omega through her energy and tilted my head a bit towards her. She wasn't worth the attention so I looked away.

With swift movement, my fist crashed into Alpha James with a loud thud.

“Aaahh!” A groan escaped his lips as his back slammed into the wall. I picked him up with my distended claws, and with another snap, his shoulder shifted from his arm.

“Aahhhh!” He screamed painfully and dropped to the floor.

“We are not done, Alpha James.” I gritted with heavy breath and grabbed him again.

I lifted my thigh and bent his leg over my thigh, breaking his leg.

“No!” He cried out sweating profusely. Blood appeared on his body, but I was still not satisfied.

Without mercy, I jabbed at his other leg and crushed it. His bones snapped and fearful murmurs spread across the room.

He's going to kill Alpha James

The Lycan King is ruthless, I doubt if he will ever let him go.

My heavy breath loomed as I prepared his next round of punishment. The tricks he just learnt are ones I'm tired of playing, and I'm just about to show him.

I kicked him in the face and lifted my leg to crush him.

You can't…

My wolf Lucas's voice spiked through me, bringing me to a pause.

Killing an Alpha without permission would lead to pursuit by the elder council.

Lucas reminded me and I groaned as I was forced to suppress my anger. My eyes shifted and I walked back a little.

Alpha James curled up on the floor groaning in pain and rolling in his own blood.

“How dare you come in here and treat the Alpha of the BloodMoon pack in such a manner? Are you truly the Lycan King? What if you are an impostor?” A wolf came forward and spoke.

It was the omega I had sensed earlier. I scoffed at her ridiculous claim. I reached out for her and slammed my palm across her cheek.

“Celine!” Alpha James gasped as she flew across the room, crashing on the floor.

“King Damon, please have mercy on us. Spare my life, I will do anything you ask but please don't kill me.” Alpha James begged with tears streaming down his face.

Three years ago, Alpha James was just a subordinate, who served and bled under me. He was loyal to the best of my knowledge and I treated him with equal kindness.

All of a sudden, Alicia, who had grown under my watch, introduced Alpha James to me as her mate.

She requested that I witness her marriage and grace the occasion with my presence and even though I wanted to refuse the call of honour, I couldn't bring myself to.

Even though she should have been mine, I couldn't bear to see her cry, so I blessed the marriage.

“Tell me everything,” I breathed with my gaze on Beta Gerald and Gamma Ken.

“As long as you tell me James's crimes. I can give you lighter punishment.” My deep voice filled the basement, and they both crumbled on the floor sobbing.

“We will tell everything as it is, your majesty.” Beta Gerald shook his head profusely.

“It was Alpha James who made up the plan to start the pack war for profit. He planned on starting a long war between the clans in the western regions.” Beta Gerald revealed.

“Yes! He also sowed discord between the mountain warriors even though we warned him not to.” Gamma Ben added.

“And… He bought a huge amount of medical insurance for Luna, and planned to murder her a long time ago.” Gamma Ben spilt and my eyes descended with a frown.

“Also, Alpha James had been with Omega Lila before he married Luna Alicia. He was….”

“Enough!” I roared. I wasn't willing to hear anymore.

“You will make atonement for your atrocities, or you will show yourself before the council of elders.” I dished out my words in a single breath.

“No! Please spare our lives, your majesty.” Both Beta Gerald and Gamma Ben begged.

“If you want to live, cut off one of your arms,” I ordered coldly. Their eyes widened with shock, and their mouths dropped open.

“Your majesty!” I heard a familiar voice and turned.

It was Omega Nora Vale, the palace healer who had gained mastery in the study of herbs and also favour from the moon goddess.

She appeared before me with her head bowed and some of the medical personnel who left with Alicia

I glared at Beta Gerald and Gamma Ben who knelt on the floor with swords in their hands before shifting my focus to Omega Nora.

“Alicia!” I muttered and quickly took her from their arms.

“I came as soon as royal Beta Collin mindlinked me. We must return to the kingdom right away, your majesty.” Omega Nora proposed.

“They are herbs that will help Luna heal faster. And I can only find them at the Crimson Stone pack.” Omega Nora informed me and I nodded my head.

“Aaahhh!” The slashing sound and screams of Beta Gerald and Gamma Ben filled the basement as the floor flooded with their blood.

Their cut off hands littered the floor oozing blood while they groaned in pain.

“Hmmm…” Alicia made a stifled sound.

“Take them away, their cries disturb Alicia's peace” I ordered my beta, Collin

The weak scent of Alicia's blood filled my nostrils, and my wolf growled in anger at how weak her energy was.

“I will make them pay!” I vowed.

Let's get out of here.” James took her hand and stepped out of the basement, leaving me all alone.
