KEENA 3 Years Later It has been three years since we returned to Lycan City. It has been three years since the darkness was bound inside of me. Not a day goes by where I don’t feel it itching below my skin begging to be set free. But just as he promised Ward has stayed by my side through everything. Sometimes nightmares wake me up in the middle of the night. Memories of the past haunt me while sleep. Visions of what could have been, if I had kept my magic, plague my mind. When I feel the magic beneath my skin becoming too strong, Ward pulls me close to him and snuggles into my hair. The steady beat of his heart reminds me of why I gave everything up. I gave it up for him. I gave it up to save humanity. “I’m home,” I hear Ward’s voice yelling out for me as he walks through the front door of the little house that my parents gave us on the outskirts of Lycan City. Running to the front of the house, I jump into his arms and he swings me around happily. “How was your fi
Hello My Lovely Readers, I wanted to thank all of you for joining me on this journey. This is definitely the most ambitious book that I have tried to write. I do hope that all of you enjoyed following Keena's story. I do plan on writing a follow-up book to this one that follows Willow's story but it won't be ready for a few months. Once again, thank you all for reading Keena's story. Please don't forget to vote, comment, and leave a review. I couldn't do this without the support of all of you standing behind me. Solange Daye
KEENA I hold the little girl to my chest and rock her back and forth. Ward and I have been trying to have a baby for the past three years. We knew that it was a long shot considering what the witches had done to me. Ward had assured me that he didn’t care if we could have children or not. But I can always see the longing in his eyes when we pass by another couple with a child. “You know that we have to tell Faris,” Ward says and my heart drops. “Can’t we just keep her to ourselves for a while?” I say as I push my bottom lip out in a pout. Willow has her arms wrapped tightly around my neck. “Who is Faris?” She whispers tentatively beside my ear. I glower at Ward before I look back at Willow. “Faris is my brother,” I tell her and her little arms relax around my neck a little bit. “This isn’t a secret that we can keep from Faris,” Ward run his fingers through his dark hair. “We don’t know where she can from. What if someone comes looking for her?” Willow buries
KEENA Kayla is already wrapped around Willow’s little finger. While Willow eats her oversized bowl of ice cream, Kayla promises to take her shopping to get her all of the things that she needs. Tears spring to my eyes while I watch my best friend and my newly found daughter bonding over an enormous bowl of ice cream. Ward and Faris walk into the kitchen, and both of them have unreadable expressions on their faces. Ward walks up beside me and kisses me on my temple before he looks over at Willow. He scoffs loudly when he sees that she is eating nothing but ice cream. “Who gave her ice cream?” Ward asks accusingly. Willow’s blue eyes grow wide with fear and she points in Kayla’s direction while she has a mouthful of ice cream. Kayla shrugs her shoulders and picks up a spoon and begins to eat the ice cream with Willow. “Stop,” I fuss at Ward. “She has never had ice cream before.” Ward lets out a frustrated sigh and mumbles something about needing to eat all of her
KEENAAs we walk up the steps to the Royal Mansion my mother is waiting on the front porch. I had Ward mind link her to let her know that I was coming and why. I don't want to keep explaining the situation in front of Willow. I don't want her to feel more like an outcast than she already does. Willow has her head hidden in my shoulder when we approach my mother and all my mother can see is her golden blonde hair. I can see the excitement twinkling in my mother’s eyes. She has wanted to be a Grandma for years now. “Willow,” I say gently, “I want you to meet my mother, your grandma.”Lifting her little head off of my shoulder, Willow says hello in a meek voice. I don't miss the gasp that leaves my mother’s lips when she finally sees Willow’s face. I know she is thinking what I am. This child looks just like Lilith. My mother quickly wipes the surprise off her face and she smiles at Willow. “Hi,” my mother practically squeals. “I'm Ella but you can call me Grandma if you w
WILLOW Eleven Years Later My arms feel like lead and there is sweat covering every inch of my body. “Again,” my father yells loudly from across the room. “But Daddy, I’m tired,” I whine and stomp my foot a little. “Hit the bullseye and I will let you be done.” He smirks at me. I can’t help but groan in frustration. We have been at this for hours and every day it is the same thing. “Hit the bullseye and I will let you be done.” Those words echo in my brain over and over again as I look at the target that is on the wall, across the room from me. “Today is the day,” I mumble to myself as I roll my shoulders and stretch my neck from side to side. Before I am fully ready I hear the whistle blow and I shoot my father a deathly glare. Two members of the Royal Guard, in their lycan form, come barreling towards me. Taking in a sharp breath, I run towards the first lycan. Kicking him in the stomach I use his course fur to claw my way up his body. His sharp claws scrap again
Hello, my Lovely Readers, I know many of you have been patiently waiting for Willow's story. Well, I have some great news! Starting on August 1, Willow's story will follow this author's note. The title of this next book is The Lycan King's Assassin. Found on the doorstep of Princess Keena and her mate Ward, Willow's future has always been uncertain. Being a human in a werewolf and lycan world has not been easy until she showed promise as a fighter, and her uncle, the Lycan King, decided to make her one of his spy assassins. The only problem is her current mark isn't going down without a fight, and he is determined to pull her to his side. Will Willow finish the job, or will she get caught up in the middle of a conspiracy between the rogues and Lycan City? Happy Reading!! Solange Daye
Willow POV I can remember the day like it was yesterday. My mother tucked my hair behind my ears and wiped the dirt off my face. “You are going to meet the Princess,” she says quietly. “You have to look your best.” “What if she doesn’t like me?” I ask innocently. I didn’t understand the gravity of what was about to happen. “She will love you,” my mother says before she places a kiss on my forehead. “Now, what do you say?” “I tell them that I was sent to live with the Princess,” I say proudly. “Perfect,” my mother says. I close my eyes and try to remember the sound of her voice, the way that the breeze blew through her hair, the color of her hair, and the color of her eyes. But time has faded my memory to nothing but the words that were spoken between the two of us. This is the same memory that flashes through my mind before every mission. It was the beginning of everything. It was the moment my life turned into something that, I am sure, my birth mother could neve
